This and That (Where Great Conversations Are Happening)

Today in Spain is back to school day for the kids, and although it's hot, life seems to be back to normal after the summer. Traffic jams in the streets, rushing to school, and the streets are less crowded after a certain hour.

 

It's back to the real world. 

 

But a different world, which continues to change little by little. Sometimes I have the impression that the pandemic changed everything, but we have yet to realize it. 

 

As if it has hit us in a different direction, and we are just starting to move.

 

Social changes, streaming, war, everything more expensive. 

 

The latter is curious, because prices have gone up a lot, but wages have not. And if people have less money, they also spend less, and if they spend less.... less is produced; and less empoyers. And so begin the great historical crises in this world. 

 

Just a few months ago a bottle of olive oil of common level cost 3.5€. Today it is worth more than €8.

 

But, at the same time, I'm an optimistic guy. Every time of change also brings opportunities.

Yesterday I read in a Spanish community that the physical format industry in the USA is thinking of starting to include European languages in film editions that did not have them, and that have never been distributed in Europe.

 

I don't know if it's true, but that's the way to go.

 

Universal editions with audio in the most spoken languages of the world, and subtitles in as many as possible.

 

No zone restrictions.

 

An edition to dominate us all.

I definitely remember “new music Tuesdays” at Newbury Comics in New England. Bob Dylan’s Love and Theft release day coincided with an awful Tuesday (for other reasons) 22 years ago yesterday. But I digress….
