Not yet, as I want several from Sofa Cinema (I do have the 4K of Hannibal for now :))...

@soundsorange what are their shipping rates if you know please? 🧐

I just went on there to check and it’s TWD 800 ($28.50) for one steelbook and TWD 1150 ($41) for 4 steelbooks. So probably worth getting anything you plan to get at the same time as it works out a lot cheaper per item. I got free shipping at the time (winter promotion).

Nice! Did you not end up getting the Hannibal steelbook from Sofa Cinema? I got it but haven’t opened it yet - looking forward to that though.

  3. Watched The Way Home last night after buying it from Kimchi along with a  couple others recently. LOVELY film - it’s about a little boy whose mum is struggling to make ends meet Seoul and so drops him off at his mute gran’s out in the countryside for a couple of months while she tries to find work. They don’t seem to be able to understand each other at all but each go on a personal journey to see things through the other’s eyes. Heartwarming and very funny in places too. Nice one to keep and another lovely job on slipcase and booklet from the Dailly Company. Link here: https://kimchidvd.com/en/22253/v.kimchi

I'd also highly recommend The Nickel Ride if you haven't seen it already as a companion piece to this film.

Thank you buddy, I didn’t know about this one and can see it’s from Robert Mulligan, will def give it a watch! I love when you don’t recognise any of the cast as it’s harder to have any preconceptions that way (you don’t know what you’ll be in for!).

  5. Watched The Friends of Eddie Coyle last night, was a slow burn but really enjoyed the dialogue and ability to create so much tension with minimal bloodshed and action and instead relying on a believable storyline and good old fashioned acting. Solid book with the Criterion edition which is always appreciated (since sometimes they can be a couple pages only).

Denzel for me this is an under rated little piece of devilry thats a 20 out of 5

Hear hear! Love Fallen. I think it was the first Denzel film I saw when it came out and loved it. I also liked John Goodman in this darker role for him.

Awesome! I just got Manhunter on steelbook the other day, looking forward to watching it. It’s the only Hannibal film I haven’t seen 😍

I held off with the invisible man as there hope for a O.A.B Blufans edition. It will only have WWA steelbook unfortunately but should come in a very nice slip.

Ah nice! Might wait and see how that turns out, cheers for highlighting 👍

Also holding out for Novamedia 1917 with WEA steelbook- beauty shots should be out soon.

Really looking forward to this, as well as the Scarface and Matrix beauty shots. I try to not think of any of them as it just makes the wait feel 10x longer 😂

    That's a great looking set @soundsorange, nice and glossy!👌

I hadn't seen this before so thanks for the tag mate 👍

Could definitely see myself spending some money with them. I like their 1917 set (unfortunately sold out now)

    https://www.sofacinema.com.tw/en/products/1917-uhd-bd-steelbook-edition

And also the invisible man edition as @deckard99pointed out.

Thank you sir! It’s one of those sets that I’ll probably take forever to watch again but 1+2 are classics that I wanted on nicer steels than the plain-Jane Zavvi ones. So was glad to see it. And I agree, love black gloss like this especially on a hard box 👍

1917 and Invisible Man also nice sets, will let them off with the WWA’s! If I’d spotted Invisible Man I would’ve added to it to one of my last orders. With their shipping cost it might need to wait a wee bit...

Will def keep an eye on these guys.

You guys might be interested in this OC, I had missed its release and it’s a lovely little number!

@ksosk I just realised you ran the GB for the Get Out OC - did CX change its name to Sofa Cinema? Or are they sister companies with the same products? Was just curious. As I mentioned to Mike, I’ve been really impressed by them so far between customer service responsiveness, rapid dispatch/delivery and solid packaging. They’d almost give John @Masterblaster a run for his money on that packaging 😂

That’s Taiwanese Dollars, they’re based in Taiwan.

I saw some of their other releases in this Taiwan forum, I think they may have been called CX before...?

  12. Just received this today and absolutely love it. Much prefer the designs and embossing on these rather than the bland 4K steels that came out some time back.

In-hand, the box feels lovely with its solid black lacquer and magnetic flap. Photos attached.

Also have to say Sofa Cinema are brilliant with shipping - very fast and solidly packed.
