The Irishman Custom Steelbook

The Irishman custom steelbook made by a friend of mine, who specialises in customising steelbooks. Just wanted to post it here as a special shout out for him because the quality of his work is just out of this world. If you can see this Dan, big thanks to you for making my day 😁

Steelbook arrived with no discs and since we never got to have an official steelbook for this film, I bought a Criterion release separately and put the discs in. They go really well with this steelbook:

 

And a nice little Thank You letter:

 

As a big fan of Martin Scorsese films, this really made my day and I could not be any more happier. If you're like me seeing your favourite movies never received an official steelbook release they deserve then my friend Dan is here for the rescue. He does all sort of custom things like slipcovers, lenticular magnet and spine etc. He has a Facebook group called Astro Creations and I figure I would post his work here so people will know more of him 😁

It's a shame, only Criterion made a release for this great movie ... it deserve a steelbook like all good movies from Scorsese !

As of now he can only be reached out on Facebook, I don't believe he has an IG account but not to worry because I heard he's planning to open a website soon. I'll let you updated through message when it opens 🤙

I didn't unfortunately because I never watched the movie but boy does it look stunning. It definitely beats the F out of what Cinemuseum produces. The mini figure that comes with it is such a cherry on top also 🍒

I'm hyped for what's he going to do next with Demolition Man.

 

I was talking to him about it before and he has these really cool ideas for it.

Regarding the postage cost, he's in UK and the cost is pretty reasonable for him to ship things to Australia. Not sure how much of the difference is it to Germany but you can reach out to him and maybe he can work out something for you.

Yeah that and Dawn of the Dead are what I'm looking forward too. I joined the group right after Bloodsport ended and I'm pretty pissed not being able to get it 😭 such a bummer that he does everything by himself hence the extremely limited print run. Imagine if he has an entire team...

Yeah, I'm kicking myself for missing that one, too.

 

I even checked eBay to see if someone was selling their copy. 😄

 

If this guy had an entire team, I think he'd be a force to be reckoned with amongst other premium retailers.

I've been after that future/metalpak, too. Really cool artwork. 😄

 

His edition is also up there with the steelbook/lenti + extra goodies.

 

 

The only drawback I can see for some people to him being a custom label is that these releases are disc-less, but you can always buy the actual disc and put it in there.
