Hm, if I'm honest I dont know the real source of that "tradition" but the "advent calendar" normally begins at 1st of december and shows the days left until christmas, 24th. IN the past, people went to church, spent time together, prayed, sang and ate. Things changed during the last 100 years and now people give this "calendar" to others as a present in christmas time. Every day you get a small present like sweets, chocolate or something like this. And in our days...everything is possible...no we also have a "beer advent calendar" so every day another beer as present. Its just a funny version of a advent calendar, but I like it. *g*
