A pleasant Sunday morning to all you fine people out there reading this… Seems things are pretty slow around here these days.

What does everyone think the next big Group Buy is going to be?

I'm personally thinking anything hdzeta does with a well known property. A favorite among the members.    (Maybe the new Batman) my   most anticipated gb for me is  anything Cinemuseum.    Your most anticipated?          Edit.     Actually let me  say further that cinemuseum  the lost boys.    That one particular because I did not get the collectors Edition last year.

i’m looking forward to the Cinemuseum Batman which should ship in early September (I hope!), also anything from HDZeta. It seems only Manta Lab is cranking a steady stream of one-click boxes regularly.

What has happened to the Maniacs series from Filmarena? Nothing announced in a long time.

Very true.   Manta lab has taken over with pretty decent  titles and a steady release of products.   The mother box's they released were excellent.  That is something I personally like.  Not for everyone else for what I read here on the forum.    Now filmarena i was really into when I first started.   Now not so much. But when they do its spectacular

I hope you all have started this week with a lot of energy.

The last days I wnet twice to the movies: to see "Godland", and "Oppenheimer" for second time.

"Oppenheimer" is a great film that reaffirms Nolan's talent as one of the directors of our time. But I can't help thinking that this critical acclaim, and box-office success, has had a lot of inertia -fair inertia, but inertia nonetheless- as a result of the marketing event and hype in which it has been involved. Of that current even associated with Barbie.

Suddenly, he has found himself in the spotlight of great cinema, as that necessary guy. As if he hadn't made great films before.

Now he is one of those names associated with the divine mission of saving cinema.

By the way, a detail of the film I've been thinking about after this second viewing:

The session "in a room" where it is decided to withdraw Oppenheimer's accreditation and "destroy" him.

The older man in the corner, in the film called "Evans", is silently present throughout the interrogation, as if his age carries the moral weight of tradition, of the immobility of the structure of the state, and at the same time of the prudence necessary for everything to end as it should end in its context, making a brief intervention at the end. Positive but inconsequential.

Now let us recall the emergency meeting at night in one room on the Chernobyl reactor number 4 after it exploded; in the HBO series.

A very similar older gentleman as the guarantor of the structure of the state, that nothing is going to shake anything. Of assuming what is happening within the usual normality, and that far from reporting anything negative, they can only interpret what is happening as a way of reaffirming (shining) the system itself and themselves as part of the machinery.

Coincidence? Maybe. Or maybe they are both appealing to the same thing with a similar figure. Or is it really a fleeting and fortuitous parallelism. But seeing it made me think about it.

HOWDY from Wyoming where we currently have a VERY PLEASANT 62° Farenheidt!

Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

I went for two long hikes on rocky terrain the last two days wearing Vibram five-toe shoes (not shoes at all!) and I have blisters all over the bottoms of my feet. OUCH! I can barely stand on my feet today.... it's back to shoes and cowboy boots at least till "my dogs" (feet) get better!
