Around ten million Australians in corona lockdown 8:11 a.m.: With Brisbane and Perth, lockdowns to contain the corona virus will apply again in four major cities in Australia from Tuesday. "These are tough decisions," said Queensland Prime Minister Annastacia Palaszczuk. This means that a total of around ten million people in Australia, and thus more than a third of the population, are affected by the far-reaching measures. The restrictions will initially apply for three days in Brisbane and four days in Perth. "We have lockdowns in big cities because people from overseas bring the virus here," said Palaszczuk. Brisbane is the capital of the state of Queensland in northeast Australia, Perth is on the west coast. Lockdowns had previously been imposed in the metropolises of Sydney and Darwin. Australia has largely been able to contain the spread of the coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic with border closings and strict quarantine rules. However, health experts believe that outbreaks will occur again and again until the majority of residents are vaccinated. So far, 7.4 million doses of vaccine have been given in Australia, but media reports suggest that less than five percent of its 25 million residents have been vaccinated twice.

Thanks, mate.

I've been trying to see if I can get vaccinated, but as of now, I'm not eligible unfortunately.

My parents, however, are eligible and booked for their first Pfizer vaccine next month. 👍
