It was on the Cinemuseum website, just google Cinemuseum and you will find it.  Need to create an account and everything, but it is sold out now. They sometimes come back in stock every once in awhile.  Usually other Psychos post on these when they come back in stock as well, so keep an eye on the release threads for those posts.  Unfortunately, you need to be quick as they sell out pretty fast once instock.

Thanks @Boilersteel   Yeah I have an account there and I checked there as soon as I saw your post and it was gone. Was wondering if there was another spot to check.

John just sent me Manta Lab The Batman, so I’ll be happy with that.  However, I prob would have grabbed the CM version too had I gotten there quickly enough.  :)  I can’t control myself with cool editions of great movies.

There are still a lot of offerings on CM's website from Manta Lab, etc.  Those are still fair game for purchase, correct?

This edition has been randomly appearing at Amazon and then disappearing.  I got one when it showed up a Amazon.de a couple weeks ago.  Unknown if it’s a full repress.  I hope all who want one can grab it at retail.

I just saw on fb that cinemuseum has a new partnership with a new release scheduled for end of December. Check it out here.

     https://fb.watch/gfORrbvPLB/

What do you make of this announcement?  Anything specific that intrigues/excites/concerns you?  I'm curious if this type of announcement/partnership means good things for the community typically or heralds something else.   Sort of general industry question I guess.

    Good afternoon everyone.

Sometimes we watch movies or TV series many years after the first time, and our opinion changes; because we have changed, our criteria is different, or simply because there are series and movies that age badly.

I recently commented in another thread that I had been watching "Swordfish", a movie that I had liked very much in its day, and seen now, years later, yes, it's very funny, but, at the same time, I began to see the seams, its limits, and although I like it, I felt that it doesn't correspond to the so so good memory I had.

Sometimes it happens. Sure you all your own examples in this.

I've been thinking about it, because these days I started watching "Hannibal" (the TV Series) again, the first time since its premiere 9 years ago. And I had liked it a lot, it was engraved in my head that it's a great series; slow, elegant, psychological, brutal, bloody, reflective..., yes, but a great series.

These days, diving in his first season, I haven't finished yet, I realized that it's even better than I remembered; and, in this case, instead of discovering the seams and the limits of what I'm seeing, I have discovered the seams and the limits of my criteria and my point of view 9 years ago.

I guess it's something closely linked to maturity, experience and the calm that we gain over the years.

At the moment, I have imposed myself to see only one chapter a day, to taste it more, little by little, and have time to ramble a abit and think about it. Like old times. I see it as a dish of good sushi, to taste looking for the perfect bite; which is not always, but should be evaluated itself.

It will be interesting for me to find out if this feeling is maintained until the end, or not. Let's see.

Top notch post.  Thanks for this, very thoughtful.

Went with a Halloween/horror theme here:

    M - Midsommar

    R - Re-Animator

D - Dawn of the Dead

    U - Ugetsu

    G - Ghostbusters

    A - Amityville

N - Nightmare Sisters (this will do until there’s a 4K box of Nightmare on Elm St)

When I was in college there were a lot of “rate me” or “rate my” websites and one of those sites was “rate my poo”. A “Dugan” was a slang term we used for a poop. I was in a house of 5-6 guys and we created a communal account on the rate my poo website with the user name “Mr Dugan”. Looking back at it, this was the early 2000s before most cellphones had cameras. I don’t really remember how we took pictures of our turds and uploaded them to the website. Did we actually use a film camera, develop the film, scan the pic onto a computer, and then upload the image?!? Website appears to be gone; we always got a kick out of the names/titles we would come up with (as you had to title each post) and at the fact that so many people had looked at our craps. Anyways, I have really been re-using the name for various message boards ever since.

As @Chief_lookout noted, upload some pics of your videos to get the points.  But please, god, please, do not show us any of Mr Dugan's pics.

Just arrived today from dvd-store.it.  These are the Italian ones, but should be same finish and everything so will post pics here.  Have to say that whatever supplier put these steelbooks together put as much effort into it as MGM with the designs.  Almost every single one has a fine scratch on the back upper right area in the about the same spot.  The finish is streaky matte and multiple ones have additional paint spots where it streaked even more.  Multiple also have hairline scratches to the front artwork, with some having other scratches on the front causing the paint to be removed at spots.  Best to not look at these under a bright light, as it might not be pretty.

On the bright side, from far away and in plastic cases the fronts don't looks that bad.  I won't mention the back artwork.

Hmmmmmmmmm . . . not promising.  Thanks for taking the time to give your thoughts.

I ordered the 10 available from Zavvi.  Should be here next week.  I'll post a similar pic and look to see if everything is as you describe with mine.

Now, the other 7 that seem to be in this style, on Zavvi they're listed as sold out, or have they not been released yet?

    They are :

    From Russia With Love

    On Her Majesty's Secret Service

    Casino Royale

    Diamonds Are Forever

    You Only Live Twice

    Thunderball

    Goldfinger

It's difficult to know for sure if the Zavvi Skyfall and Quantum of Solace are meant to go with these.  Thoughts?

So lets give out some points 😊. Still some great challenge 5 entries 👍

@BreakBeatDJ I will allow the two movies, but to earn your point we still need to know the origin of your username.

At the birth of hip hop, when I was in my early teens, here in the US, I was a DJ.  I played mostly in parks, skating rinks, and an occasional "room" in a secret club, and later in college had a radio segment of hip hop mixes.

I did get the amazing experience of playing at the first hip hop club in Florida, at Miami's The Beat Club on Byrd Rd.  On Friday nights, I rubbed shoulders with all the early luminaries of hip hop.  Amazing memories. (I am not in this picture of Run DMC performing at the Beat Club, but I was there! and I dj'd on that stage where Jam Master Jay (RIP) is standing)

    image.png.ace4c430ff7236f8458a3f75cb2d427b.png

Back then, I owned every hip hop album there was, because, well, there weren't very many.

For an MC to rap, you have to have music playing underneath that has no words (so the words from the song don't interfere with the words of the rapper).  So, what you would do is find a "break" in a song that had only drums in it, no words, and usually only minimal instruments.

For example, the first few measures of the Aerosmith's song Walk This Way: it is only drums.  This is a break beat.  Now, we didn't use Aerosmith back then, Run DMC did that a few years later.  We mostly used beats from late 60s and 70s funk jazz, particularly albums that came on the Blue Note label.  (If you're interested in that music with loads of funky breaks, Blue Note released a series of CDs called Blue Break Beats in the 90s, easy to find and inexpensive and a fantastic sampler set of music from that era)

You take two copies of the album, Walk This Way for example, and you put them on two turntables, with a mixer in between.  While one of them is playing the break, you are "rewinding" the other one back to the beginning of the break.  So you alternate between the two turntables, one is playing the break, the other, you're rewinding to the beginning of the break.

The few measures of exposed beats at the beginning of Walk This Way are not nearly long enough for an MC to rap over.  So the DJ, just keeps playing, and rewinding, and playing and rewinding the break beat and it can go on forever, so the rapper has time to spit his rhymes.  The DJ skill lies in the ability to do it seamlessly, so the beat never stops, and is always in perfect rhythm.

    Thus, I was a BreakBeatDJ

The end of the musicology lesson for today, Psychos.  You'll all be quizzed next week. :)) I'm sure our resident musicologist @ethnosax would ace the test!

And thanks for the fun challenge @extantsrevenge.   Keep them coming.

this is the GB @deckard99 is referring to, currently running for Reservoir dogs, but there’s nothing to do until he lets us know.

Thanks Gary.  I'm already in on that one for Reservoir Dogs.  What are your thoughts on the Night of the Living Dead Plaion.  Just looked at it and the extras look great.  I'm assuming all three of these will end up in one GB?
