  1. No seriously.

There are many lurkers on this site.  To those, I say, hop in here.  This is a great chance to get to know people and to share movies.

If you want to suggest Legally Blond, all good.  Yes, you will get made fun of, but like a bro.

    Everyone welcome, all movies welcome.

@Reagh if I get assurances that no Marvel movies will ever be suggested, then I’m in.

Why do you insist everywhere on this forum on triggering my Ferris Bueller Syndrome?  The COMPLETE INFINITY SAGA is my first choice.

For our community weekly film club. I suggest that there be no rules, only a little structure. We will make a list of all participants starting tomorrow morning. New members can join at any time. I suggest we go alphabetical. No repeats of a movie we have already done. I suggest that if a movie is chosen that you have seen in the past, give it a rewatch to see if your opinion changes. If you don’t own the film chosen it’s easy and cheap to rent if it’s not available on streaming services.
if you are unable to participate because renting or streaming is impossible that’s understandable. But if you miss 3 then I suggest we skip that persons pick. Most movies are widely available so I don’t see this being a big problem.

We will run it from Thursday to Thursday. So @BreakBeatDJ looks like you will be the first one up. Start thinking about your pick bud.

if anyone else has a suggestion on how we can make this easier or more enjoyable, please share.

All sounds reasonable.  Thanks for facilitating  @Reagh!

Today was fun, I suggest once a week we do a group movie. We pick a movie, obviously with all of us having different schedules we can’t all watch it on the same day but over the course of 5/7 days I think it’s totally doable. Any takers?

Great idea!  I'm in.  Sounds fun.

Hey @Reagh. . . . I've heard rumors, but when is the Plateau iMax opening?  I'm assuming we will get Mulholland Drive on endless repeat and the concession stand will be named Winkies and will serve killer waffles for the show!  365 tickets please, and a short stack.

  5. Anyone watch the Bengals/Bills game last night?  Wow, I woke up still thinking about it. Thoughts and prayers for Damar Hamlin and his family.

I have never seen anything like that.  A one in a million hit stopped his heart and he collapsed on the field.  Really hoping for the best possible outcome for that fine young man.

And, please be safe out there all you world wide Psychos as you get back to work, etc.

Midnight Run was pretty good. I have to wonder if I had seen it at a younger age  would I have enjoyed it more. I guess the thing I didn’t care for was the over the top score. I did enjoy Charles Grodin, and anything with Dennis Farina is always fun. The thing I didn’t enjoy was De Niro…. He’s always just so mean spirited and that just doesn’t help a comedy. I know my opinion is in the minority about De Niro, but to me he’s always the same character in everything or a variation of it. And that’s perfectly fine for some films. I’d give midnight run a 5/10. When I think of a great buddy comedy, I think stakeout. The chemistry isn’t based off a love hate relationship but a true friendship that allows them to make friendly jabs at each other. Same with all the lethal weapon movies. Once they became friends the series became much funnier.

De Niro didn't learn to be funny until he got that cat Jinxy.  Analyze This/That, forgettable at best.

Your point about Midnight Run being a movie better experienced young, and in the late 80s, you're prob right.  I still like it, but when seeing it objectively, it doesn't hold up as much as my nostalgia wishes it did.

Oh my gosh Sicario: Day of the Soldado blew my mind 😳

Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin were again magnificent & enjoyed the menacing music throughout… I had no idea Taylor Sheridan (Of Yellowstone goodness) wrote these 2 Sicarios! 😯

The way it ended has anyone heard if there will be a 3rd installment… Mr Sheridan needs to get on it pronto!! 👍

To anyone who has not seen these I highly recommend them if you can stomach mucho violence that is… I certainly enjoyed these 2 quite a lot peeps!!! :)

I haven't seen the second one.  I liked the first one; twist-y turn-y without the writers overtly trying to trick you.  Benicio is fantastic.  It feels like it's more his movie than Emily Blunt's.  The violence to me is not that bad, comparatively to other films.  I'll check out the second one.  Thanks Mike.

Correct - two box sets ONLY.  One containing the lentis from each movie and one containing the FS from each movie.  Those that ordered just the editions from one movie have been given the opportunity to back out or change to an available edition.

    Make sense?

    Gary

Yep, perfect, thanks.  To be honest I'm glad.  I like what I see from this hard box.  Hope the FS version is nice.  I know it is "typical" of what is around with BluFans, etc., but I'm lucky I like it I guess.

  9. Thanks @extantsrevenge for the opportunity to make up 3 challenges.  This should get me the wonderful award!

    • I prefer the lenticulars with depth as opposed to transitions.  Although I like the transition lenti cards that can sit out on their own, as you move past them they transition.  But on an edition, I prefer depth.

STAR WARS IX: RISE OF SKYWALKER Zavvi Exclusive - Pins

This entire set is unique.  I like the dark side focus of this one, even though I'm indifferent to the tin box format.

These pins are actually incredibly detailed and show the helmets of Kylo Ren and the First Order Sith Trooper

So glad they didn't just put a movie poster in here.

E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL UHD Club - Lenticular Card

This transition lenti card sits on my desk, and it's large enough that when I get up and down Elliot flies across the moon.  Yes, I'm still 10 years old.

I actually sent Imprint another email suggesting it as a potential title for them to look into.

They've already released 3/5 titles I've previously suggested.

That's awesome, do you remember what the 5 you suggested were and which three they did?  Should we start a digital flash mob of MP'ers to make these titles happen?

True story, at my first wedding  (there have been three) my dad absolutely insisted there be pigs in blankets.  This was a nice wedding in Miami - with actual sushi - but he didn’t care.  He insisted so we had to actually buy them and give them to the caterer and tell them to put the whole plate in front of my dad.

    he was pleased.
