May be mistaken, but I think that's all these premium empty slipcase projects MP are doing. Star Wars 4-6 and Maverick to name a few. All already in active development/release if you take a look around the forum.

Cheers bud, appreciated. It could've probably done with a few pictures, but I'm not usually one for photography, and I don't think I'd be able to do either justice with the wrapping on anyway!

My OC and DL both landed on my doorstep here in the UK today. Thankfully no damage to report either!

I'm not opening the OC, but have slit open the inner spine seal on the DL. I'd unwrap the whole thing, but it's even thicker than a FAC XL, so I haven't got a protector to fit it! 😅

Overall I'm relatively impressed by the set. Solid first stab at a new release type imo.

Slip is well constructed, decent depth and colours, sharp foreground too. Background is less so, but I own much worse.

Lenti magnet fairs better, great quality. As is the metal plate and magnetic folder sides. The cards are a little washed out and low res though, which is a bit of a shame.

As for the MP case, I'm happy with that. Solid build, design and mechanism. Not so different to a steelbook that it should put anyone off it either. The rear disc slot is extremely difficult to slot the disc into though. I had to wedge up the front hub with my nail to get it back in.

Front is nicely embossed, sharp image and great glossy colours. The back isn't as well implemented tbh. It's far too cropped in vs the stock image and doesn't look like anything of note now.. but it's the perfect place for the lenti magnet! 😁

Look forward to seeing how A.I turns out. I have high hopes for that case design and fullslip!

Fair point basil! The fact that the human box was raised on rounded bolts made me wonder about that one specifically, as it sounded less stable. The other two are reasonably flat.

Awesome, thank you. That provides some comfort at least haha Mine would be well away from any kids (don't have any lol) but the 6ft odd unit top it will be on is only just big enough to hold it, where it would be very close to the door frame, and I do have a rather clumsy Mrs! 😂

To anyone who's opened their Human Motherbox...

With the bolts protruding from the bottom, how well does this sit on a flat surface?

I'm thinking of grabbing one, but I'm concerned it won't be all that secure ontop of a high unit, with a flat top, and may be prone to sliding if knocked etc..

Yeah, likely region based, seeing as it's hub shipping. UK hub must be ready before US hub for whatever reason 🤷‍♂️

Looks nice, like the idea of lenticular spines as well. Prefer the FS overall though, so happy with that choice.

The back art is straight forward - pink neon logo embossing. 

The front I want to capture some small details to do embossing too so it feels better to touch 🤣

 

Printing factories are affected though due to the lockdown. That is where most of the delays are. 

Lenti and slips are delayed.

Sounds promising! Excited for this release. I'm getting the EoT release too, but prefer this MP steel design. Very innovative!

One small suggestion.. the disc tray that slides out, would you perhaps consider colour coding it with the rest of the steel?

Or atleast making it pure black for this particular release (rather than the off grey colour shown in the mockup), as it'd probably suit the color scheme better in my humble opinion.

Lol fair enough, didn't seem it though.. anyway, a 4K variant would be a BAD idea.

1. You cant guarantee when the disc will be available at all, particularly for the chinese market, thus delaying release.

2. You'd see prices skyrocket, especially for a startup. 4K disc prices in asia are nuts compared to literally everywhere else in the world.

It'd be easier and cheaper overall, to simply buy and add the 4K disc yourself later. Most WB discs end up being $10/£10 in a sale at some point or another.

The case? No, course not. It doesn't come with a 4K disc, so why would it say 4K anywhere. If it says anything it'll simply be blu-ray, as that's all that comes with it. The extra disc slot leaves you free to add 4K, 3D or dvd if you feel the need.
