but most of my friends on here know I have a marvel free collection. 
We all have different opinions and tastes. Mine are just better.

 

 

I really do enjoy seeing all the different Marvel editions everyone collects. 
In all seriousness I know my opinion on marvel stuff is in the minority, and I just enjoy teasing certain people about it. No disrespect intended my friend.

I knew @Reagh was saying I’d made the wise choice - originally - to forego the mondo marvels.  Yet, as I am decidedly on the collecting marvel side of the fence and am a sucker for peer pressure and FOMO, I am well on my way to securing all 15 current Mondo Marvel’s and have pre-ordered the two new ones…..

 

Sheesh.  here I thought I’d just watch the Jets game and check in on the Gatsby GB while thinking about my challenge post and look what happens….

@Gary K I haven’t seen the Great Gatsby yet. Did you enjoy it? I have the 3D release and plan on throwing it on the projector in a few hours so I don’t have to go in blind. What I really want to know is will I have time to secure the OC if I make a request in say 4-5 hrs? Or is it already going like wildfire?

It’s definitely a Baz luhrmann movie….visually arresting and kinetic with some wonderful performances.  I really love it but I can see some fans of the novel and those who don’t enjoy Luhrmann’s style being turned off.

As for your question, I really don’t know.  We don’t know what our allocation is yet and opening the GB early was to gauge interest and try to get as much as we can.  So far interest appears to be strong so it really depends on what our allocation ends up being.

 

Curious what you think of the movie either way.

I think your ambiguity about collecting these is justified, to be honest.  The Mondo Marvel steels are an inconsistent bunch imho.  They are very "Mondo" of course, but the execution isn't always so great.   I'm thankful for them because they are so much better than most WWA multi-retailer Marvel steels.  It is a nice little set, but not perfect.

 

I still say, buy, buy, buy.

Picked up these Star Trek: The Original Series steelbooks for $45 on Black Friday. Couldn't pass up that discount! Also got The Animated Series for cheap too! 

 

I really like the collage art on the steelbooks, with the division color spines. Surprising amount of scratches on the steelbooks though... seems odd given they were housed in a cardboard sleeve. TAS's corners got beat up too. Oh well

Terminator 2 Judgement Day Arcade1up Cabinet. it has been marked on sale for 57% off at many retailers (usually $699, marked down to $299). I bought T2 and Ridge Racer over this past weekend, both a ton of fun but T2 is definitely the winner! Talk about a blast to play!
