I'm really excited to be a part of this famous community and hope the journey will be rewarding and pleasing for all. I live in Canada and i start collecting steelbooks 3-4 years now. I have a modest collection of 258 titles including some premiums and i love the Arts in general but there's definetly something appealing regarding steelbooks that i can't resist lol

@Veum genre wise would definetly be sci-fi/space sci-fi, thriller/mystery, action/adventure, peplum, history, time paradox.. to name a few 😅

I’m lookin’ fwd to the Star Trek 4K (1st 4 movie) releases soon & (I’ve pre-ordered the Star Trek: TOS steelbooks... most peeps think their not very nice lookin’, but I do & I do not always follow what peeps think anyway! 🤣 )... are you? 🤔

i love Star Trek but wouldn't call myself as a Trekkie with all due resect to this community

I do have the Chris Pine's movies of course which i love but sadly i never watched the old movies nor the tv shows with the late Leonard Nimoy.. I adore Stargate however, if that can make some amends lol

I'm like you on this one too  F#$% what ppl say, if YOU like it, GO for it if that makes you happy and at the end of the day, that's what matters the most

Hi @mamaragan I'm also a fan of Star Trek and Stargate. The Star Trek original series (TOS) is amazing and really worth the time to watch. Balance of Terror is my favorite episode and is a good place to start if you just want a quick taste. The movies with the original cast are up and down, with Wrath of Khan being the best, but I enjoyed all of them. 

 

If I didn't already own the discs in standard packaging I'd definitely go for this set. I quite like the art and box.

Wow, that's hard. Star Trek TOS was ground breaking for it's time and featured stories by famous science fiction authors. I love the whole Stargate universe, but I have to rate Trek a bit higher (despite it's age) as it paved the way for most other sci-fi shows.

TOS is both a product of its time and forward-thinking. It doesn't take itself too seriously but it can take your mind to places that are very memorable. "The city on the edge of forever" is a masterpiece. I wouldn't make it the first episode you watch. Character development is important in any series, and you need some before you watch that episode.

@mamaragan I recommend watching the episodes in order so you have the proper character development, but as an FYI here are some of the best.

I have that Stargate SG-1 box too. It’s pretty awesome. I passed on the recent Bluray set due to the negative stuff I read and I’m holding out hope for an improved Bluray set in the future.

@deckard99 same but as @Veum pointes it out, i do not see it happening any time soon but one can hope with the discussions going on about a revival of the series.. maybe, just maybe

Amazon bought MGM last month and the Stargate franchise is a very valuable property in that portfolio. I'm hopeful that we'll a new Stargate show and maybe improvements made to the past catalog.
