So sad we lost him at such a young/old age 60 😳… loved him in JW 😞

He's been the highlight of a lot of stuff for me, particularly FRINGE, THE WIRE, BOSCH. Anytime I saw his name come up on-screen, I knew it'd be good.

Except one time. I saw his name pop up in the opening credits for Godzilla vs Kong and was so damn excited to see what he would bring. Was he going to be part of Monarch, or one of the villain? I couldn't wait to find out. And then realized he only had a blink and you miss him role at the end. Such a bummer.

James Mangold’s movie will go back to the dawn of the Jedi, while Dave Filoni’s will focus on the New Republic, and close out the interconnected stories told in The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Ahsoka, and other Disney+ series. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s film will be set after the events of Rise of Skywalker, and feature Daisy Ridley back as Rey as she builds a new Jedi Order.

Looks like Star Trek: Section 31 is finally a-go!

I'm excited for this! I wasn't all that excited about this when it was going to be a TV-show, just didn't seem like there was enough there to sustain, but I'm all in for a 2-hour Emperor Georgiou film.

Sounds like they're going to do a streaming movie every couple of years. Hopefully it opens up more doors for the Trek universe.

Agreed on both fronts. Hopefully they do some original movies, too, introducing us to some new crews and ships. I wonder if they could get Nicole de Boer back for a Capt. Ezri Dax movie aboard the Aventine a la the pre-Coda books and the end of that then-canon book line.

Guess we're getting our wish, @hansreinhardt!

And according to THR sources, Section 31 will be the first of a series of Star Trek movie events for the streamer:

Section 31 is being envisioned as Mission: Impossible meets Guardians of the Galaxy, which with the big scope of both films would make doing a weekly series a larger challenge. The plan, sources note, is for Kurtzman and company to do a Star Trek made-for-streaming movie every two years for Paramount+.

Forgot to share this yesterday, Happy Belated Alien Day. First behind-the-scenes shot from Fede Alvarez' Alien: Romulus. This set looks incredible, has that classic 70's sci-fi feel from the original film, definitely seeing shades of Alien: Isolation here. Can't wait.
