  1. Hey @Veum We gotta juice this up a bit buddy. Am I the only one playing anymore?
  2. Can someone please explain to me the different tiers, their benefits, requirements, how renewal is done, etc.? I know that Plat/Gold get access to limited group buys before regular members. And, Plat members got the Spidey edition for the holidays. Supporting MP, of course. Anything else? Can you point me to somewhere on the site where this is discussed? I read through a lot of this thread but didn't see any clear explanations.

  4. Well, it's interesting you mention Chernobyl. Hearing him talk about that was crazy. He was so insecure, and anxiety ridden during that process. He was a successful writer before that, but Chern is what really put him on the map. The whole podcast has changed since then. It is much more polished, and he has lost a little bit of that sarcastic writer bitchin' about the industry vibe. He is hilarious. Each episode he says his name a different silly way. He makes fun of himself all the time, both he and John August are great. I'd go back to like 2018 and listen to that year before starting now. Mazin was not afraid to speak his mind about the industry. I too am really enjoying this show. So solid. I wish Mazin wouldn't have directed the first episode though. It was good, not whining, it was good, I just think with a more experienced director we could have gotten a little bit better camera work. It felt pretty basic to me. He directs like a writer, which is fine. It's still a really solid show, and I just HOPE that it continues at this level.
  5. I know Disney owns the SW saga, but I would never think of the original trilogy as three “Disney movies”. Seems odd to include them in a D100 commemorative series. I guess the younger generation probably does think of them as Diz movies. Makes no sense to me though. They really should buy Space balls to complete the saga.
  6. I highly recommend Craig Mazin’s podcast Scriptnotes. I’ve been listening to it for ten years and it’s the only industry podcast I listen to anymore. They’re so down and dirty about the industry and craft. He described the whole process of this show in real time as it developed.
  7. Love this movie, would be an instant buy. All of Kubrick's movies are instant buys, really. A ridiculous story . . . We were at a Kubrick retrospective, and the last day, the final movie, the big enchilada, was Paths of Glory. The theater was packed, we got there early, nice big screen at Anthology Film Archive, ready to go. Everything's quiet, place goes dark, screen flickers and opening credits start rolling . . . ITC Meryl Streep Kevin Kline Peter MacNichol Wait . . . what? For many many seconds I thought, I didn't remember that Meryl Streep was in Paths of Glory? Embarrassing to admit. The distributer had sent the print for Sophie's Choice instead of Paths of Glory. It was amazing how long it took everyone to realize what was going on. There was a theater full of cranky New Yorkers losing their sh!!t. They said we could stay and watch Sophie's Choice if we wanted. Okay, okay, might as well, we got our money back, free movie, right? Half the people left. They started Sophie's Choice again, only this time it stops about 2 minutes in. They announce the AFA director shut it down, they didn't have the rights to show Sophie's Choice. Grumble grumble, and everyone started to leave. Now, we're still sitting there, laughing at the absurdity, and the projectionist yells out from behind us, we still have Barry Lyndon from yesterday, how about that? Hella yeah, we'll watch that again. It turned out to be one of my favorite film viewing experiences ever. There were only about 20 of us left, bonded by the surreal nature of it all, huddled in the sweet spot of the theater. It was amazing. Barry Lyndon is like a sequence of beautiful images from an 18th coffee table book. And in that environment it felt like every image was meant for us. To this day, I still, subconsciously, look for Meryl Streep's cameo when I watch Paths of Glory.
  8. CHALLENGE 18 : Merchandi$ing! Where the Real Money from the Movie is Made Thanks @Mrdugan for a challenging challenge. Like @Fortis93, I'm gunna throw a bunch of stuff up and hopefully five will pass. WONKA BAR : from the back of the drawer with the games in it, that we never look in JAMES BOND DECK : Theory11 PEANUTS COMPLETE 1950-2000 : Fantagraphics FELLOWSHIP OF THE RINGS DECK : King's Wild Project WILLIAM MILLER'S NOTEBOOK : Universal Store DARK KNIGHT DECK : Theory11 ALICE IN WONDERLAND PUZZLE : King's Wild Project THE GENERAL'S SPATULA : Oxo Like @Reagh, I chose these because this is what I could find. Lame, I know.
  9. @Mrdugan just to clarify. I have many movie themed decks of cards, but for different movies (not all MCU, etc.). Can we use the same type of item for different movies? Say three mugs, one for a Disney movie, one for a Harry Potter movie, etc. Or can we only use one type of item once, as in this case, one mug?
  10. CHALLENGE 17 : It Takes Two Thanks @raylight for the fun challenge. The below comedy duos are def on an adventure. 1. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade : Henry Jones and Henry "don't call me Junior" Jones Jr. 2. Bonnie and Clyde : Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow 3. 3:10 to Yuma : Dan Evans and Ben Wade 4. Iron Man 2 : Iron Man and War Machine 5. Stripes : John Winger and Russell Ziskey 6. Men in Black : Agent K and Agent J 7. Coming to America : Prince Akeem and Semmi 8. Waynes World : Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar I would love to see a Butch Cassidy premium.
  11. UHD Club killin' it. This is one of those rare cases that I can't remember which one I got, but I'm not even sweating it, they're both dope. It's interesting to see three different UHDC formats represented here, the dif heights and feels.
  12. I trust the Wilson/Broccoli team, so I will be excited to see where they end up, and I'm optimistic I'll love it, even if I can't imagine it now.
  13. I understand what you're saying, but I wasn't very excited about Daniel Craig, and he is now my second fav Bond after Connery. Having read all the books, he feels the most "authentic" to me. That doesn't mean I don't like the others or am a hater, just my preference.
  14. You make a great point. And in addition to this, to lock someone up for years, for many movies, it has to be someone willing to devote their career to being Bond. Most stars will not want to do that.
  15. No Time To Die, Valhalla (2020) only a cameo, but still. Nice little watch
  16. Very nice. Those A4s are great. You're inspiring me to get out my vintage lobby cards and do something with them. Thanks for sharing.
  17. Yep, familiar with AMP prints, nice stuff. Wall space is valuable real estate in our house, like many, a lot of shelves with records and a growing premiums collection.
  18. Wow, this looks amazing. Nice low number, too. I ask this question of everyone who collects posters . . . how do you display them? I think they look great, but always hesitate to buy because I don't know what to do with them. I have a nice little vintage lobby card collection and they just sit in a drawer.
  19. Scarface and 1917 Film Vault + poster still available. Vice Press Scarface Film Vault + Poster Vice Press 1917 Film Vault + Poster
  20. Yay for those who don’t own it. But, this would be my third criterion version of this. We need a Blu-Ray of spine 1 Grand Illusion, not a 4k of spine 2 The Seventh Seal.
