I wasn't a fan of the DeLorean being chopped up across three different steelbooks, either. It's why I passed on the previous release. Give me the Struzan originals any day! Just waiting for the Zavvi link to go live so I can see about canceling my Amazon Italy order...

Media Psychos World Cup 2022 Prediction Game/Challenge
MikeH5856 replied to extantsrevenge's topic in MP Challenge
Sorry, @extantsrevenge! I thought I had made all my predictions on that site listed on page one. Apparently I did not understand this at all! 🤣🤣🤣 Oh well… maybe next year. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -
Challenge 12 The directors! 1. Christopher Nolan Favorite: The Dark Knight! Memento is definitely up there, too. I really need to upgrade that one at some point… 2. Steven Spielberg Favorite: Jaws, hands-down. Spielberg has made some true classics, and I think each of these three pictured above count as such. 3. Quentin Tarantino Favorite: Pulp Fiction, for sure. Honestly, I love each of these three here. Still in the to-watch pile: Django Unchained, Hateful 8, and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Man, I’ve got some catching up to do. 😭

Challenge 11 1. Beverly Hills Cop 2. For my money, Tony Scott’s direction and action set-pieces are an improvement over the first film. 2. Blade Runner 2049. Beautiful cinematography gives this sequel an edge in the stunning landscape and shot composition department. 3. John Wick 2. Erm… here’s where I admit, I actually haven’t seen any of the John Wick movies yet and blind bought them all when I got my 4K player… 😬 My copy of the first one didn’t come with a slip, but part 2 did, so that’s an improvement, I’d say! I also really like the colors on the artwork over the first one. 🤣 4. Mission Impossible 2. What makes this one better than the first? Obviously Tom Cruise’s luscious flowing locks! 😂😂😂 In seriousness, I do dig the concept of the chimera virus, and John Woo’s handling of the flick’s action scenes. I just wish he’d have been allowed to be more unrestrained and not so locked-in with the constraints of a big budget PG-13 Hollywood summer blockbuster. 5. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Literally everything about this movie makes it better than its dull predecessor. As far as which movie deserves a sequel? I’m gonna go with Hellboy 2! It’s a crying shame we never got to see the third film in del Toro’s trilogy, IMO. Universal really dropped the ball there…and audiences, too, since they couldn’t justify the financial commitment for the grand finale.

All three are up for preorder on Amazon.it, with a February release date.

I ordered the CM edition, and as a newbie back then I didn't think it would take over a year to release! 😅 As I started learning more about CM delays, I couldn't pass up the Manta edition figuring that would be here well before CM provided any kind of updates on this one! 🤣🤣🤣 I guess the race is on now to see which one will be delivered first. HA! I actually like the Manta edition better, but certainly don't mind having two (well, soon 3 thanks to the Manta Lab digibook release) copies of this one.
-
Oh man, just imagine if they did some embossing on the front!
-
Agreed. I gave up on Arrow doing this, but even if they do, you're right. I don't think there will be any competing with this edition. I don't think Turbine is underselling it at all when they call this the ultimate edition.
-
I went with the original, too. Had to keep it old school! 🤣
-
I really appreciate that you get a version of both artworks with both sets. Looks like Turbine went all out for this one! Ultimate edition, indeed!

Yes, they'll ship to USA. Ordered my copy this morning!

This and That (Where Great Conversations Are Happening)
MikeH5856 replied to Masterblaster's topic in English
Normally, it’d be quite a few others from my wife’s side of the family. But due to some extenuating circumstances on their end, it’ll just be me, my wife, and our boys (only one of the two is likely to eat any of our feast). So, we’ll have some leftovers over the following days and make some kind of other turkey dishes, and freeze a bunch of it for later on. -

Yup! And I'm already salivating, too! 🤣🤣🤣 We just got our turkey last night, and at 25 lbs, I expect we'll have plenty of leftovers. I can't wait! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, hands-down. -
That's a bummer. I was actually looking forward to seeing how this would shape up. I'd pay good money to see Margot Robbie as a pirate!
