This Nova was my second car and got my hands on it when I was 18 years old! Bought it off my work mate for £1000 if I remember right. 

I always wanted to get to get a Nova GTE - with the 1.6 ltr engine. That or a Peugeot 205 1.9 but it never happened! They were about 6k and outta my price range!🤣

On a serious note glad you are ok mate! Cars are designed to crumple/crush up to absorb as much of the impact as possible. Because of this and the expense of repairs the insurance companies are very quick to write them off! 

I feel for you mate as the same thing happened to my Mrs just before Christmas 2017. Rear end smash - Cracked bumper, smashed rear lamps and the boot wouldn’t open and car was written off! The person who did it was all apologetic at the time then changed their story once they left the scene. 

Anyway @Pbsw23 hope this cheers you up - we’ve all been there with the scally boy racer cars! Here’s a photo of me back in 1998 in my 1.2 Vauxhall Nova! Mustard yellow 🤣🤣🤣

Man I loved this car - there wasn’t much I didn’t do to this motor! I took the cylinder head off, polished n port the head, fit it with a high lift cam, twin choke Webber carbs, K&N air filter, 4 branch manifold, stainless steel exhaust middle and tail pipe. I had fox racing wheel on it after this pic was taken. The dash would vibrate like hell at 90mph, it spat oil from every gasket and was lumpy as hell on idle! But it went like stink - the induction on it was crazy! Did the Santa pod run in this- Good times 😁

@VladPutin I opened mine and used a SCF9 plastic protector (the one for Hdzeta one clicks). I think it looks a lot better with the original wrapping taken off as the fabric cover sits more naturally. It is a bit hard to close the lid but this will keep it looking clean and dust free👍

Maybe our good friend @ksosk is working on something better ???

Sounds awesome @Pbsw23 , I think the last time I went was way back in 2005! Things were a probably a bit more lapse back then and I bet a lots changed. I have some old photos of us at Santa Pod up in the loft (the old type you took to Boots to develop) 🤣. May try and dig them out if I get time this week.

I’ll take your word that Dragstalgia is the one to go to now. Glad you have something like that to enjoy with your Dad - did he do Santa Pod weekend with you? Did you take your twin boys or was it with the lads? I may take the girls there when they get a bit older but think it may be a bit too noises for them! I took them to Blackpool air show and they just sit there covering their ears🤣
