@Billy Talent these all look amazing, I’m especially interested in the amagi brilliant park and chunibyo as I’m currently building up my kyoani collection. Are these all sentai releases I take it?

My Fallen Angels turned up today, thanks @blu.steel33, I went for the full slip as it offered more of a contrast  to the steelbook. Nova can’t seem to miss at the moment.

Just for simple convenience, for yourself and our other esteemed friends that drop by, I took two seconds and linked the more "in-depth" (30 min) vid he did that despite being a tad longer, has a significant deeper explanation (and many more jokes) that can assist in identifying at least what all is out there in the Fate Multiverse, should I care and where the hellz bellz can I buy them! 😉  (that last one, he can't help ya with...)

There appears to be a psychic link forming on this anime page because I too dipped my big toe in the Fate universe a few days ago. I was unsure where to begin like everyone else but went with unlimited blade works, just the first two episodes and it’s certainly got it’s hooks in. Zavvi still have UBW and Zero in stock so I’ll buy those first and then move onto the three movies. I don’t think they’ve all been released here yet though.

I watched that amusing gigguk video last week and apparently he got a bit of flak from the more overzealous fans who thought he was making fun of the fandom, he was talking about it on his other channel trash taste highlights a while ago. I’ll watch the more in depth video you linked to today I think.

It’s horrible and doesn’t even match the previous Craig steelbooks (which were also really bad for entirely different reasons).

My MAG age of innocence arrived a moment ago, my first from this label. I’d not even considered the outer box until I’d seen the photos and video above, just thought it came in a large full slip, the screenplay is also a hardback book which is unexpected. I still haven’t got around to watching the criterion edition I bought last year so this is a first time watch too. Overall the outer box and choice of film are good directions for this label to move in I think, rather than the somewhat over extravagant terminator set, if I had a nitpick I think the slip is crying out for some embossing but I’m very pleased with it.

Wow that everythingblu King Kong is a doozy, and a huge get nowadays. The grind house oc looks much better in hand than I thought it did in the bs, I went for the death proof lenticular myself, but they all look great from what I’ve seen, nova can’t seem to miss at the moment.

Zavvi, and it’s still in stock too. I’m not actually sure if it’s the same transfer as the Best Buy lionsgate version, I’ll give it a watch tonight probably.

Yeah six art cards and a poster by Matt Ferguson. Fingers crossed there’s no disc issues but I’m happy with it overall.

Just received the 4k Ghost In The Shell by funimation. I’m not good at accurately describing the finishes but I think it’s satin gloss with title embossing and border. I’m surprised funimation pulled this out of the bag with their relentless quality control issues but it feels jolly nice indeed in hand.

Have you watched the Golden Age Arc movies by WB? They're extremely well done and a good introduction to the story. The original anime is great though I like the end of the arc from the movies more. The new anime is pretty bad in my opinion.

No I haven’t seen those either, I think they were due for a steel book release but I’m not sure if that’s still the case. I’ll need to catch up with all of it, the manga included which I’ve not started reading yet lol.

You're lucky my friend! 😄 I bought this steel from Zavvi several months ago, cost me almost $60. Being one of my all time favorites it wasn't that big a deal though, I'm really glad this anime finally got some love. I'm pretty sure the company who made this steel, MVM films, also made the badass Berserk steel that released last year. They really know my tastes, I'm thinking they might have bugged my room 😂 

Yeah they did berserk too, I missed out on that one though, I’m hoping to find a second hand copy. I haven’t actually watched berserk yet.

Zavvi had a random sale a couple of weeks ago, I happened to be scrolling at the right time lol . I think it sold out pretty quickly, I went back to get bunny girl senpai but that had gone too.

Violet’s about a former child soldier who starts work at a postal company that specialises in writing letters for people who either can’t write or want someone who can better articulate what they want to say. Through doing this Violet attempts to rediscover  her humanity after the war. I’ve probably not done a very good job of explaining lol or made it sound boring, @Grendelcan do a better job I expect, it’s on Netflix anyway and there’s an ova episode along with a movie sequel too. I enjoyed it, definitely worth a watch.

I also have the "Miyazaki Super Set" and some of the large spec eds, such as Totoro, Mononoke, Spirited away, etc. (pic of one below).

That Vamp D Steel art is bloody frameable, so highly recommend it, especially at the low prices the NA sellers are currently offering.

I love ALL Amano's artwork and bought his latest HC Book that collates it nicely.

That totoro looks great! I’d seen that perfect blue ata but it was too rich for my blood lol, I’ll probably get their standard blu and shove it in the steel.

I might get vampire hunting d steel while it’s still available, the ghibli steels I’m in two minds about. The uk ones are mostly out of print and ridiculously expensive so it might be easier to get the amarays and get some custom slipcovers for them. I love that perfect blue steel, I got the french one with a silent voice in a gb but they’ve not arrived yet.

Hang on to those NGE dvds Buddy, that artwork on the slips is iconic.

I think like most people with a pulse, KyoAni is one of my all time fave Studios.

So extremely happy to see them get back on their feet after that horrendous fire.

I'm not sure if the arsonist is in a straight-jacket or going on murder trial but hopefully the latter.

 

Anyway, a wonderful selection of much beloved titles and I'm so very privileged to say I have most of them as well.

Yeah it’s great to see them putting out great material, I loved VE the movie and hear great things about miss koboyashi s2. I’m thinking about splurging on euphonium s2 but it wasn’t released here and the right stuff pony canyon edition comes in two parts at $70 a pop. I think funimation are putting out hyouka soon and I’ve got my fingers crossed for the melancholy of haruhi too.

That’s a good question, I haven’t seen the blu ray discs yet, just the streaming versions. I remember thinking the music audio in your name was quieter than the Netflix but that might be my headphones. I’ll report back when I’ve compared over the weekend.

Also these are pick ups over the last year or so, I’m basically starting again cos I haven’t really collected anime since the vhs days lol. Two eps per tape, those were the days.

If so, then I'd suggest seeing what ya can do via our NA HUBs for Sentai and RightStuf orders, as I know they have some of those on offer.

Yeah I just used right stuff to pick up k-on and clannad after reading the uk funimation releases were using old transfers, they arrived super quickly too. I’ll definitely use them again.

Yeah I randomly came across the samurai champloo steelbook for £15 the other week. I keep watching the opening two episodes of series I haven’t seen on Netflix, then if I like them I look for a Blu ray but the list is getting longer and longer. My current wish list already includes -
