I’m kind of surprised that there are so few awardees for anime collections! Here are some of my anime movies. Akira is an all-time favorite. I have the 1/6 Kaneda figure and bike, just waiting on a proper display cabinet for them. edit - forgot to point out the Appleseed Metal Pack I found for $5 at a swap meet! I was super stoked on that one.

You’ve probably seen some of these (mostly) Arrow releases. They have been revisiting a lot of these in 4K recently. I am totally onboard with 4K but I can’t justify the double dip on a lot of these releases sadly. Arrow definitely put out some great slips for the 4K Argento films, those arte originale ones are awesome, but I have too many hobbies.

Full slips don’t have to house steelbooks and they can open on any 1 side? Well I think my collection of VSA from Vinegar Syndrome can almost get me there by themselves! Some relatively expensive and absolutely awful movies in this lot! The only reason to watch Dr Jekyll Dungeon of Death is so you can talk about how bad it is…not in a good way.

Started pulling out HDZs and forgot about WW OC and the Hobbit trilogy. Interstellar is probably my favorite in the entire collection.

The BestBuy version is pretty dull in-hand, looking forward to a premium.

Good call. I picked up the Studio Ghibli steelbooks from JB Hi-Fi several years ago. I should make sure I am getting alerts from them for their sales...

I like Imprint but a lot of their releases work out to be too much money for standard releases. I think I am going to get their upcoming Warriors release though.

Yup! I'm with you on that. I can definitely be persuaded with immaculate packaging and special features but it's going to have to be an above-average release from NM

Ughhhh...definitely plan on getting the criterion WKW boxset and don’t want to double dip on any of the releases. This would be really tough if it was 4K

i went ahead and signed up for the group buy here. The movie sounds enjoyable and the packaging is superb, so I figured why not. I buy plenty of blind buys from other distributors and I don’t have any mlife...I couldn’t convince myself not to get this one

Make sure to follow the "Group buy in update phase" thread. That thing is a game changer and makes it super easy to see fresh group buys. I'm super happy to use Media Psychos for all of my group buys and premium purchases. You have to pay a little extra but you're paying for an incredibly helpful service that's well worth the price. There's no way that I would've remembered this sale or been awake and responsive enough to actually secure a copy. I'm more than happy to kind of "set it and forget it" with MP...but don't forget to update your request when required.

Just watched Tenet and Mando episode 16 as well. The reviews I (briefly) read of Tenet made it seemed like if you like Nolan films, you’ll like Tenet, and if you don’t care for Nolan films, Tenet isn’t going to win you over. That’s exactly what we got. I went into it knowing it would probably be gimmicky and for lack of a better term, Nolan-y. I love Memento, Prestige, Interstellar and the Batman movies and am ok with Inception and his other works. As a Nolan movie, it falls short. It seems like he is trying to outdo himself and it falls a bit short. I disagree with @extantsrevenge as I really enjoyed the performances by Washington and Pattinson and I liked the score. The score was super Nolan-y and even though I only have a soundbar, it really stood out. I can see how viewing it in the theater or with a true surround/high def sound system could get tiring. I also disagree with the rewatchability, I think it’s very rewatchable. I don’t think it’ll make as much sense as his other movies, so that may limit rewatches, but I still want to revisit it and see how much “sense” I can make of it all. I would probably rate it a 7 or 8 which is dependent on how future rewatches go. It’s a lower tier Nolan film, but I don’t think he’s made a bad film. Mando ep 16 was a 10 out of 10. Too much spoiler material to risk talking about. Its a 10.
