  1. Happy Psycho Anniversary @extantsrevenge I figured it would take more time to figure out my original 50 and not post any duplicates so, here are 100!
  2. Challenge 30: The Villains Well I was going to wait for the weekend for this but @extantsrevenge be hitting us with the guilt trip about not posting AND it looks like I’m going to have to post 100 steelbooks this weekend as well, so here we go! Immortan Joe - Mad Max Fury Road. Probably my favorite villain in terms of character design (besides Vader). Evil Ash - Army of Darkness. Hilarious bad guy and a great concept. Recently saw this in the theatre again, absolutely love this movie. Sutler and Creedy - V for Vendetta. Couldn’t choose who I hated more in this movie but they were both such satisfying death scenes. Lo Pan - Big Trouble in Little China. Kind of in the same vein as Army of Darkness, more comical than maniacal. “Shut up Mr Burton! You were not brought upon this world to ‘get it’” Agent Smith - The Matrix. V is back but as the villain. Perfectly portrayed. My favorite villain has got to be Darth Vader. Nothing really much to say that hasn’t been. After that probably the Joker, the shark from Jaws, xenomorphs, the predator. Decided not to post any of those as I don’t want all of my submissions to be dominated by those movies/franchises!
  3. Be the psycho we know you are and use the 4K discs from the retail release.
  4. See this page: Make sure to read all the info and everything you’re agreeing to. Good luck.
  5. Ok, provocation #29 1. 300 2. 1917 3. John Wick 4. Kong - Skull Island 5. Fargo 6. Logan 7. Robocop 8. Mad Max 9. Thor 10. Iron Man Had to look again to confirm no outlaw symbols. That was fun.
  6. Thanks @hal56 for this weeks challenge. I just got Freddie Got Fingered while hunting around for movies yesterday, so that completes my challenge. I don’t have the Rocky collection but plan to buy it in 4K once the price comes down. Challenge 28: Best of the Worst Rambo: First Blood Part II - 1985 Worst Picture, Worst Actor Rambo III - 1988 Worst Actor Hudson Hawk - 1991 Worst Picture Armageddon - 1998 Worst Picture, Worst Actor Freddie Got Fingered - 2001 Worst Picture, Worst Actor A lot of the winners aren’t that bad…except for Madonna, she’s awful. I guess Armageddon is the one I disagree with the most. It’s just a Summer Blockbuster, we allow action/superhero movies to operate outside the scope of what is actually possible.
  7. @hal56 @extantsrevenge Can we include winners for best supporting actor/actress? There’s too much overlap between worst picture and the worst actor/actress categories. What about special awards? Like ConAir which won “Worst Reckless Disregard for Human Life and Public Property”. Seems like a shame for a movie to win such an epic award and we are unable to honor it!
  8. Two Towers has arrived and my Middle Earth Collection is now complete. Hobbit Silver label where I was literally the last member on the GB and LOTR Gold label
  9. I just realized I have 10 mediabooks/digibooks. Forgot that Clone Wars was one!
  10. Thank you @Veum for week 27 challenge - “vigilante or Revenge” My favorites in this genre are probably Hang ‘em High or Kill Bill but I figured I would post some other vigilante movies: I Spit on Your Grave Thriller (whose main character is said to be the basis for Daryl Hannah’s character in Kill Bill) Irreversible The Farmer Rolling Thunder
  11. Challenge 26: Women in Film The month of March is Women’s History Month in the US and for this challenge we would like you to showcase 5 films that were either produced by a woman, directed by a woman, or featured a woman as the movie’s main character. All releases are eligible for this challenge. Additionally, we want to know your favorite woman in film and why she is your personal favorite. This can be your favorite actress, character that they played, director, etc. Point Break – directed by Kathryn Bigelow. Years before she became the first woman to win an Academy Award for Directing (The Hurt Locker), Kathryn Bigelow directed this absolute cult classic gem. She has also directed several other well known movies such as Strange Days and Zero Dark Thirty. Utah! Get me two! Morvern Callar – directed by Lynne Ramsay. Ramsay makes some great movies including Ratcatcher, We Need to Talk About Kevin, and You Were Never Really Here. She also was the writer for all these films, though Morvern Callar was based on a novel, and was a producer for We Need to Talk About Kevin, and You Were Never Really Here. The Slumber Party Massacre – directed by Amy Holden Jones. Editor, producer, writer, actor, director, Amy Holden Jones is an individual of many talents. She was slated to be the editor for ET but left the project to direct her own project. Slumber Party Massacre wasn’t a huge hit at the time but it lives on as a cult classic with this 4K release recently being put out by Shout Factory. The two sequels were also directed by women (Deborah Brock directed SPM 2 and Sally Mattison directed SPM 3). The Babadook – directed by Jennifer Kent. I love this movie. Kent most recently directed The Knightingale, a film that I have not yet seen but will check out at some point in the future. Titane – directed by Julia Ducournau. This feature won Ducournau the Palm d’Or at Cannes and was the second woman to win this award (Jane Campion for The Piano). With pictures like this and Raw under her belt, I am looking forward to her next movie. My favorite woman in film probably needs to go to Sigourney Weaver. I grew up in the 80s watching the high-testosterone, action packed movies of Schwarzenegger and Stallone and Weaver was the first woman action-movie lead I remember watching. Plus she’s great in the Ghostbusters movies. I do also have a soft spot for Meryl Streep as she is just an amazing actor.
  12. Thanks to @extantsrevenge for this idea and for religiously maintaining and updating this thread. I really enjoy participating and it is now part of my Sunday morning routine - check out the new challenge, get a cup of coffee, sip said coffee as I prepare my submission. And thankfully now some weekends I will be doing that with F1 on in the background! Thank you also to @Cornbuster for the trophy designs. I know it's a long way off, but hopefully we get to 50 challenges and may I suggest instead of an award at 50 we have a 1 year award at 52? Also maybe a trophy for those who come up with challenges will help keep interest up and sustain us to that point.
  13. Challenge #25 The multilangual Psycho Thank you @R1s1ngs0n for a great challenge. Will anyone be keeping score as to what countries show up the most frequently? I would guess Japanese would be number 1 but after that I don’t know. Indonesian is coming up a lot thanks to the Raid! Anyways, here are my 5 which I selected based on the relative scarcity of these languages in my movie collection. Amharic, Harari, Oromo - Fayadayi. I lived in Ethiopia for about 4 months and will generally buy/support anything from Ethiopia. It’s a very beautiful country with many different and wonderful people. I’m really sad to hear about what’s going on now in that country. I have been lucky enough to travel a fair amount and be to some pretty atypical places. I always tell people, if you have a desire to visit a place, go now as you don’t know what the future holds. Ethiopia seemed perfectly safe and stable when I visited. Belarussian - Come and See. This film hits hard… Benagli - The Apu Trilogy. For a country that really loves its movies, I have no other Indian films. Seems a bit tragic. Mondo Macabro is releasing a Bollywood horror boxset that I want to check out. Nigerian dialects - Who Killed Captain Alex and Bad Black. This is listed as English language and the VJ speaks mostly English but the actors are mostly speaking some form of pidgin English. Persian - Taste of Cherry. Talk about a country that I would love to visit! Maybe one day. But I do need more Iranian, and middle Eastern films, in my movie collection in general. Romanian - Delta Space Mission. Not my favorite movie but it’s an interesting journey and it is very rare to get releases for older foreign language cartoons. I will be getting Deaf Crocodile’s the Son of the Stars at some point Edit - forgot to include what films need a premium release. Crouching Tiger deserves a better releases, something from WCL or UHD club. And of course The Killer and Hard Boiled need upgrades and premium treatment.
  14. Probably not the best place for this but in case you haven’t seen, HamiltonBooks has some pretty good deals on Arrow Releases, some of them are LE, some boxsets, and the Tremors 4K steelbook which is $20 https://www.hamiltonbook.com/tremors-uhd-blu-ray
  15. @Cinemania you haven’t been on this site since August, but if you’re still in the ether and want this release, it is time
  16. Thanks @Gary K for the challenge. I chose to stick to Best Picture for my selections. Parasite (2020) Return of the King (2004) Forrest Gump (1995) The Godfather II (1975) The Godfather (1973) My own Best Picture pick…Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon should’ve won best picture in 2001. Yes, Gladiator is a great film but Crouching Tiger is a better overall picture. Likewise, Forrest Gump was probably the THIRD best movie of 1995 behind Shawshank Redemption and Pulp Fiction. Forrest Gump and Gladiator are both great pictures but they were both outdone in their year for Best Picture. (I know we got a lot of Gladiator fans, don’t stone me!)
