While I like it - and will certainly sign up for this GB - I think the movie is really overrated.

I’ve never owned any edition of this movie so it’s definitely not a movie I would call one of my absolute favorites, although I do like it a lot as it seems to suck me in whenever it’s on tv.

But that wooden box makes a very convincing argument for finally adding it to my collection.

I held off buying the Zavvi edition hoping for a more "premium" release. So glad I waited, and I will definitely be picking this up. I hadn't ever seen this movie until just a few years ago, but I really enjoyed it.

Full disclosure, I probably won’t even watch it when the edition arrives. Not really my cup of tea per say. Additionally I’m not a big fan of Tim Robbins or Morgen Freeman. They both have done great work in the past, but both are highly overrated and boring in my opinion. 
 

But No way am I missing out on a UHD CLUB Wooden Box edition.

Exactly my experience.  Clicking through channels, see Andy Dufresne, and I end up watching the rest of the movie.

Very glad to see this get a UHD club release. This is one of my favorites. While I get those that say some of the actors are over-rated, that does not apply to this film. I also don't get why you would buy something if you don't like the film. just my 2 cents.

the older I get the easier I find to control that tbh. I have rules with buying premiums, etc. 

 

I also just sold off 3/4 off my mondo steelbooks because I don't really care for them. it gets easier
