The Accountant or The Equalizer 2

I liked "The Accountant"... except in the last quarter of the film. The ending, not because of the plot, but because of how it was shot, and some things about the dialogues, I didn't like at all. It seemed artificial, forced, topical. A nineties final almost two decades later.

 

The rest of the film, very entertaining.

 

"Equalizer 2" is also very entertaining, although different. It really isn't fair to compare them, because Denzel Washington has reached a point in his career where he can (almost, maybe still not) say, like Nicholas Cage, that he's just a genre by himself. The policeman, the murderer, the gangster made by Washington, is a character that populates numerous modern films with different names and different nuances, but who always makes the film revolve around him. May that solemnity of him end up permeating everything.
