Even after reading the rules and perusing the forums, I'm still a little confused as to what I can GB at the moment... Is there an efficient method to check films, enter GB, etc. ?

yes there are rules tag one of the admins  Extencerevenge ,Hollywood E Rock, Deckard99 ask your questions there you also have to pay a small amount in advance, but ask first, wish you a lot of fun in the forum

I would like to open a GB for a film : Nausicaä of The Valley of the Wind (Japan BD)

 

Am I right in thinking I should open a GB in the Other Media section (Other Special / Collector's Editions) ? Put some info and pics in the post to entice others to join in..

 

Is that how MP works ?

First off @El_Topo_54- 

 

As to your first questions about navigating open group buys -

If you go to the main page and scroll down a ways you will eventually come to the "Group Buys" section. Looks like this:

I encourage you to explore them all but most members are interested in the bottom two - "Other Media Group Buys" and "Steelbook Group Buys". In these sections you can navigate by company. Under each company you will see 2 options - the Group Buys link and the Info and Questions link. For each group buy that is started, a "Group Buy" link is created for signing up to the Group Buy and an "Info and Topic" link is created for questions/discussion around the group buy.

 

If you navigate into the Group Buys section, you will see a list of the group buys currently available for the given company and whether they are Open or Closed. That is the easiest way to see what is still available for sign-up.

 

And for your second question - I would say you should send a private message to the admins that run the section you would like to post in and see if they can/would like to start a group buy. Find their names in one of the current group buys in the "Other Special/Collector Editions" section. For your current question, try asking:
