Media member, filmmaker, and now... media psycho!

Hello, everyone!

 

I recently (like last night) discovered the concept of GBs and signed up to join your wonderful group shortly thereafter. First of all, what an awesome idea! It takes an incredible amount of effort and organization to pull something like this off, and it appears that you've all been killing it for years. Bravo. 

 

A little about myself:

 

• I run a relatively successful Horror publication that sees north of 2 million visits a month. Humble brag, but I'm proud of it. Let me know if you wanna know more!
• I'm in my mid-30s, married, and have a 7 month old daughter that demands a lot of our free time.
• I'm an avid home theater junkie. I'm not a Reddit showroom kind of guy, but I'm proud of my setup. I'll include a little image if I can.
• I recently crowdfunded my first feature film. We are currently shooting after privately raising over $20k from our readers and listeners. Hopefully we have a cool collector's edition down the road that nerds like us will obsess over buying

 

After selling my entire physical collection a few years ago for next to nothing, I was introduced to German Mediabooks by a friend of mine. Being an indie horror fan at my core, I was amazed to learn how many low-budget genre releases get impressive physical releases overseas. This has turned into an obsession in recent weeks--tracking down and ordering as many as I can. Over the last 3 or 4 weeks, I've probably ordered close to 30 mediabooks. This quickly led to finding a few high priced lenticular releases on eBay. After scoring a few for WAY more than I'd like to admit, I started looking into how I could get these straight from the source without padding some eBay seller's pockets along the way (sorry if that's you haha). Anyhoo--that's where you all come in. 

 

I'm obviously interested in joining future group buys, but I'm just as eager to make some new friends. It's 2021, I work from home, and I'm quarantined constantly with a 7 month old. At this point, all of my friends are online friends and I'm ready to make some more!

Yeah, I hear you, I’m a collector too that started w/Best Buy/Target exclusives that really got me into the Premium editions (I started way back though  & gradually upgraded from VHS to DVD to BD to 4K oh my 🤣). then I was fortunate to find out about this terrific forum MP from another forum I followed & MP took over my #1 place since March ‘19 hey 👋 

 

 

I’m who is referred to as the “consigliere” on MP and the Ol’ American guy 😆 (Ol’ Veum is me) because I do enjoy communicating with all the peeps!😊

 

  

 

Hold fast to your wallet as your money will be spent quite a lot lol!😜

I also plan on becoming a premium member, so I have some searching and reading to do around that to fully understand how it works. But sounds like I’m going to want that highest tier. Maybe. Hopefully there are enough weirdos like me that want to get in on some limited horror releases.
