I was curious if we had an alternate as well.
Hi mate, I know @Reagh said not to skip it so naturally The Dam Busters is indeed the viewing for this week, and even though it is not a direct replacement for The Dam Busters, how about an un-official viewing of The Memphis Belle? I figure you must be more likely to have that one on the US streaming platforms?I have other films that I want to suggest in future rounds, so I’ll keep them in my pocket for now rather than offer them up now as an alternative.

Here ya go my friend. Upgrade awaits. (I'm assuming you mean King Kong)
Thanks for looking out for me mate, really appreciate that. 👍🏼
But chuck in shipping to the UK and that’s a bit too rich for my pockets I’m afraid. I love the movie, but I’m not so fussed about weighty wooden boxes personally. A simple FS would be plenty adequate for my simple collection.- 4

PSYCHO CHALLENGE - WEEK 24
"And The OSCAR Goes To...."
Thank you @Gary K Great Challenge!
So as it goes, I only currently own 3 Academy Award Best Screen Winners, but Green Book is High on my Premium Wish list… 🤞🏼
I have previously owned Rocky, The Silence of the Lambs, Titanic, LotR RotK & The Departed but all on VHS or DVD and they all went when I last moved home. 🤷🏼♂️
Next I’ll plump for what I consider to be the Best Animated Feature Award Winner, out of all of them.
And I have to give the nod to these two for both both picking up 3 Oscars a piece. It’s only now I am realising just how much I need to upgrade these to a decent level. Missed out on both FAC releases sadly, so hoping for a new release from someone else at some point.
As for my deserved winner(s)…
1991 - Goodfellas > Dances with Wolves
1995 - Pulp Fiction > Forrest Gump
2013 - Django > Argo
2017 - Arrival > Moonlight
2020 - 1917 > Parasite.
…IMO 🤫

Better get this in before thinking about the latest challenge.
Challenge 23 - The Best of the Best
Thank you @Fortis93 A bit of a head scratcher if I am honest, as my favourite movies span across various genres. Even in my submission below, you could argue some are Sci-Fi & some are Comic Book. I could throw in here some Fantasy movies such as LotR or Clash of the Titans, but ultimately I Love Monster Movies. It doesn’t particularly matter what the genre is, but I am drawn toward the “Big Bad”. There are also other titles I love and would add in my submission, but sadly I do not own them (Yet) such as Kong Skull Island or Grabbers.
So here is a little collection of movies that I like, because of the ‘Monsters’. I certainly wouldn’t put Venom 2 in my favourite movies, but added it in as an example of the draw that a Quality “Big Bad” has for myself. I love Sammael the Hell Hound in Hellboy, or the Kaiju in Pacific Rim. Any Godzilla flick. Ultimately If the Monster is decent, then chances are I will like the movie to some degree.

Looks like I’m out on this one too. A copy of the disc is like $25-30 and google play isn’t available to me.
Really?! That much 😳 I’m actually shocked by that!- 1

Oooops, Sorry Guys! Typical that I’ve managed to pick an awkward one.

“This week the challenge has 2 parts….”
@extantsrevenge Blimey Nils…. What???!
I’ve been made to look a fool with stuff like this before when I discover that a Steelbook DOES exist already! 😂 How do you expect me to have such knowledge of all releases Man?!! 😄
I may have to play my “ @R1s1ngs0n “ wildcard here to get me through the challenge… 😂
As far as I am aware, these do not exist in 4K…. Waits for that egg on the face moment 😄
Challenge 21 "Love is in the Air"
Nope… Bang goes my “Perfect record” PASS! 😂
Challenge 22 “Adaptation”
OK… So not the same Franchise… ie MCU…. In my book these are all separate. I have a shed load more examples like this, but cannot bring myself to destroy the library. But you get the picture…

So no one has yet professed their love and admiration for the Superhero genre. Not that it bothers me, I just find it somewhat curious 😁
And I won’t be the first either. 😄I couldn't really claim that the Superhero genre was my fav anyway when I think that vast majority of DC is pretty bloody awful…..
😁
I was a Marvel fanboy long before the Movies kicked in. Luckily for myself, I find the MCU extremely entertaining and believe that they give a damn good account of themselves. Just my lowly “Kids Movie” opinion of course you understand.
I have missed a few of these recently, so will try and get some submissions in tonight whist following the footy. 👍🏼

Hey Guys!
Wow… Where did the time go?! Sorry I’ve not been about much the last couple of weeks. Loads going on with my personal life right now. Panicked to come back and see it’s my choice! But Sooooooooooo relieved to see @Reagh suggestion of taking a week to catch up! I certainly need that and have 2 to watch by the looks of things.
Anyway, hope you’re all doing well folks and in less of a spin than myself. Hopefully things will calm down again soon. 👍🏼

@Pbsw23 will you be adding this to your collection?
I saw this for the first time earlier today and was discussing it with fellow brick heads at work 😄I am currently eyeballing the 90 years of play Lions Castle which comes in at £340, purely because I loved the Castle line as a kid (still have most of it) and Love the fact that they rehashed some classic sets last year (I also have the Galaxy Explorer and exclusive Forest Hideout & Blacktron Cruiser sets).
I have also recently gone down the rabbit hole of MOC’s, and I am close to finalising my first real effort. But recently decided I want to have a go at a Fantasy diorama next….. And then THIS set comes along 🫣 I am Sooooooooooo Very Very tempted, but it all depends how long it hangs around for.
I won’t pull the trigger in March on release date, but I could very easily circle back around later in the year if it’s still available, especially if I’ve racked up some serious Lego VIP points by then. My guess is that it will sell out pretty quickly though, with those who can afford it investing in multiple editions.

Respect your opinion Mike, but I’m really not sure what your dislike for Eternals has to do with a potential casting choice mate?? 😂👍🏼Dr. Doom is a Hardcore beloved character of mine, as he is for many the world over. For me personally, Driver isn’t the right guy. Just because he wore a hooded cape and mask in Star Wars, that doesn’t make him the right choice for Doom. Just my opinion of course.
TBF, Julian McMahon actually did a bang tidy job of the role previously, but who ever takes the mantle next really needs to take it up a notch in terms of being a bad guy, though again, I’d expect todays CGI etc to add to that.

I don’t care what this dude says in the video above, I am NOT feeling Adam Driver as Doom in any way. Really lazy if you ask me. 🤷🏼♂️

I don’t have a outdoor setup, but I do take the projector out to the back yard from time to time. I would think a projector would be the way to go for a couple of reasons the first being size, next would be price. I bought mine for under 600. Also more versatility with a projector you can move it easier if you needed to. The only downside would be picture quality during sunny days, but I would have to imagine the same problem would apply to a TV set.
I don’t have the biggest of living rooms so I keep mine on a rolling cart. I have all everything preset so it’s easy to plug and play. Also makes it easy to take outside or to the Garage when when I want a bigger picture size. When it’s not in use I just roll it into a hall closet. I have a fixed screen in the living room that is 200 inches and I have one of those collapsible/ foldable 300 inch for outside.
Oh Nice! How far away does the projector need to be? I have built an outdoor kitchen area for entertaining and it has a roof and is perfectly positioned to stop sun glare. I can use the back wall of my man cave to have a screen, but the issue I may have is the height and distance the projector will need to be.This is my main reason for considering a TV screen that could simply be wall mounted with power and cabling on the inside of my man cave. But, as you say I suspect it would cost way more.

I know we all live in very different climates, and obviously I am in the dead of Winter here right now, but I wanted to ask if any of you have any form of outdoor set ups?
Strongly considering an outdoor screen this year but need input from those in the know. Not sure whether to go screen and projector or outdoor TV.

Thanks @ShadowWarrior The problem there is that shipping to the UK likely sends the final cost up just as much. I think I’m better off waiting for Zavvi to do something. Knowing my luck I’d get one imported and then see it appear in the UK.
I don’t mind when it’s a Premium. Thanks again though. 👍🏼

@GuyIncognit0 Hope you’re well mate.
Just checking in to see if you’ve had any thoughts for your choice on Thursday? I’m wondering if I’ll need to track it down. At least I know what it WON’T be….
But I am Very intrigued and looking forward to your choice though, I just wasn’t sure if you were still deciding or simply surprising us?
I’ll stop now. I just love it when someone else is passionate about NOT liking a movie. Sometimes I feel all alone in that. 😁👍🏼

….Which you won't find at a Coles or Woolworths here.
Wait… You guys still have Woolworths?!! 😲Guessing it’s not the same company we had, but Woolworths (or Wooly’s as it was fondly known) was an awesome high street store which I loved as a kid. It got into financial trouble and rebranded as “Big W”.
At this point I was driving my pimped boy racer machine and used to head out to Big W in the evenings on the retail park, buy my CD’s from there and generally hang out. 😄
Long gone now though - didn’t work out and was one of the first to go under as Amazon & online shopping took over ☹️

Jesus.
I get a lot of my stuff at places like ALDI now.
Much cheaper than the regular Australian-owned supermarkets here.
I’m now splitting shops according to produce. I have a weekly delivery from one of our supermarkets with the bulk of the shop, but also go to Aldi for fresh groceries (sick of returning items that are delivered) and Asda for other offers and my drinks.- 3
