I'm concerned at how much I'm looking forward to this film. I feel like I'm setting myself up for disappointment.

To be completely honest, I keep forgetting about it entirely so hopefully that will help as I’ve given very little thought in terms of expectations 😄

I’m equally not expecting huge things from Guardians 3 either. I know these have something of a cult following now, especially with those who perhaps weren’t big Marvel fans before the MCU, but both Vol 1 & 2 took time to grow on me. There are moments where I find Chris Pratts portrayal highly amusing, but there are also moments I find him super frustrating feel he is just over acting and being a general C*ck.

I am looking forward to Quantumania but mostly to see Johnathan Majors bring it. And I am actually really looking forward to Secret Wars on Disney+ without trying to get too far ahead of myself. I have a feeling this is going set up some exciting questions. 🤞🏼

  3. 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse': First Poster Arrives in this Multiverse

It's how you wear the mask that matters

Miles Morales returns for the next chapter of the Oscar-winning Spider-Verse saga, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and now a brand new poster for the upcoming film has arrived. Take a peek at it above, featuring a bevy of Spideys — it's how you wear the mask that matters.

After reuniting with Gwen Stacy, Brooklyn’s full-time, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is catapulted across the Multiverse, where he encounters a team of Spider-People charged with protecting its very existence. But when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders and must redefine what it means to be a hero so he can save the people he loves most.

The film is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson, from a screenplay by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller, and David Callaham. The film is produced by Avi Arad. Amy Pascal, Phil Lord. Christopher Miller, and Christina Steinberg, with executive producers Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, Rodney Rothman, Aditya Sood, Rebecca Karch, and Brian Bendis.

The cast includes Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson. Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya. Jason Schwartzman, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Velez. Greta Lee. Rachel Dratch, Jorma Taccone. Shea Whigham and Oscar Isaac.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse swings into theaters (and the Multiverse) on June 2, 2023.

I think I'm going to skip that most recent trailer and try to stay a little in the dark on this one 👍

I used to avoid ALL MCU trailers until recently, but I got sick of either reading something or a mate talking to me about them that I just gave in 😂

Just saw The Pale Blue Eye. Pretty interesting flick. I really enjoyed it! The editing felt a bit odd though. But the twist definitely got me.

I Added this to my watch list a couple of nights ago. I’m always pleased to see someone else say they’ve really enjoyed something. I’ve watched too many bad ones recently 😄 Looking forward to this one now 👍🏼

  6. Media Psychos Challenge #16: It's so hard to choose!

Thank you @Chief_lookout for this Evil Challenge 😄👍🏼

As repeatedly mentioned by others in recent posts, a Top 10 is an almost impossible task. But in the interest of pondering & procrastinating no longer, going purely off identifying those movies that I will happily watch again and again, and presented in chronological order this is what I have come up with.

    1. Predator (1987)

    3A166764-53F7-40F0-AEDF-D2395189E516.thumb.jpeg.e28a6839c3ff303ed78aae6b4964a682.jpeg

    2. Batman (1989)

    3. Tremors (1990)

    4. Trespass (1992)

    5. Bad Boys (1995)

    6. From Dusk till Dawn (1996)

    7. Starship Troopers (1997)

    8. The Fast and the Furious (2001)
    9. Training Day (2002)

    ED4A35F1-5B59-4BD4-A417-0D900612A13B.thumb.jpeg.02acd3e3ba0bfe30b7362eb4eb1f77cf.jpeg

    10. Iron Man (2008)

I would say there are 3 or 4 listed here that I could swap out for other personal treasures such as Fallen, The Blues Brothers, Friday, Infinity War… I could go on… 😄

For a favourite movie that I would like to see a steelbook release for, I would opt for either Fast Company (1979) Trespass (1992) or Grabbers (2012) but all seem highly unlikely.

For a favourite that I would love to see get the premium treatment, it has to be the Iron Man Trilogy Or the Blade Trilogy by WeET… OR Starship Troopers by MantaLab (That’s right, I’m greedy). 🤞🏼😁

  7. Just wanted to thank @BreakBeatDJ once again for the nomination of Druk (Another Round) because it has turned out to be the perfect filling, sandwiched between disappointment.

Tonight I watched Annihilation on Netflix. 😒 Prior to Druk, I watched Hobbs and Shaw. 🤯 2 movies I will not be bothering with ever again. Thankful for Druk being such a good watch last night otherwise I’d be 3 for 3!

Why are movies so lazy today? Or worse, try to be Overly clever and just wind up being a hot mess. 🙄

Anyway, hope you all enjoyed your weekends guys. It’s off to the land of Nod for me now as I face the reality of Monday morning 😫

    Take care guys. 👍🏼

  8. @cypheria078 You have me bewildered Bro.

How does anyone initially call out their love for Star Wars, Back to the Future & Indiana Jones, and then come out with a list of such epic depressing storylines for their top 10?! 😂

Im not saying Schindlers List isn’t a great movie, but a movie about the holocaust in your Top 10 favourite films… Dude…

2 - 3 years ago the average every day price was around 4 12 packs for 12$.

was that around the same there?

Wow, no, to my knowledge it was never that cheap! Although, I also haven’t shopped for that much in one go before 😂 So Maybe in our bulk buy or cash and carry stores it was. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I'm a bit surprised at how polarizing these two releases seem to be.  Over on reddit a brawl has broken out.

I think the slip is pretty good, myself.  Maybe just because it feels more design-y.  As I said above, the bullet holes on the steel feel lazy, like . . . we've got an image on the back that is boring, let's put bullet holes on it and save it.

I'm curious, for those of you who don't like the slip, why you don't like it?  You know me, I can be convinced I'm wrong.

    @tr0llhatt

It honestly looks like something I could throw together on my iPad in terms of design, and I would expect more than that really. I would rather they used actual movie release artwork. The second I see the old city skyline in silhouette in a design I feel it is lazy. Just like the bullet marks, it’s so over done. Just my option of course 👍🏼

I don't really like any of these steels, but the standard steel should've been in the CE as it's the best one of the two despite the car taking 1/3 of the front 🤣

Completely agree. Glad I have the previous iteration for this as both of these are actually pretty lame IMO. Still needs a “proper” WEA release from some one like Nova or Manta… 🤞🏼
