  1. Morning everyone and welcome to the weekend! Just a public service announcement that Top Gun: Maverick is returning to IMAX this weekend. It got pushed out pretty quickly by Jurassic World in its first run. If you haven’t seen it in IMAX I highly suggest! *Here’s where a Maverick GIF would be if I could find one!*
  2. Sitting here watching the replay of the Love and Thunder premiere from last night. Cautiously optimistic about this. I loved Ragnarok but they just re-showed the trailer for L&T and some of the jokes land with a real thud. Hoping they are just missing context. I did notice this time around that they show Gorr receiving a sword and walking through a black abyss with what looks like symbiotes swirling around. What are the chances they introduce All Black, the Necrosword? And will that lead to Knull one day?! How will it all work with Venom being butchered over at Sony?!!
  3. A lot of good titles coming from this team! I only have a few of their CM Exclusive releases but keep signing on for CM Art releases because of the movies. Hope the art line turns out to be as nice as the exclusives.
  4. Double lentis are always twice as many as I need but this one looks great! Characters and their rides…I love it. The green ? In the eye is a nice touch on the full slip. ML is king.
  5. I didnt hate it or love it; it was fine. The action was classic Matrix but honestly feels dated at this point. The story was invented but almost too meta. My love for ML and need to complete the Matrix set that Ive started are too strong to not buy this unfortunately...
  6. Nice! Enjoy! I have a magical 45 mins each night where my son goes to sleep and my wife is in the shower - this is my opportunity to watch my Marvel shows. Trying to make MK ep 1 happen tonight!
  7. I think this is a great point. I trust Marvel. They have brought to life so many characters I love and I agree they almost always do them justice. I think they definitely have a lot more stories to pull from. It is selfish of me to say but it feels like they are building towards putting together the Young Avengers and that just doesn't interest me. With the introduction of Kate Bishop, Ms Marvel, and America Chavez they really seem to be building the future team for a new generation. And I don't blame them. I really can't complain. Just by seeing the Infinity Saga through to the end they accomplished something I thought impossible. They brought to life characters I loved, brought them together, and ushered them through what is arguably one of the greatest accomplishments in storytelling/cinema history. Over 20 films and 10 years! While not all of them were home runs the batting average was great (especially considering the bombs of DC and Universal Dark Universes). Probability says we will never see another cinematic universe like it. I'm thankful for that and I am fine with the old guard going away and the new guard coming in to support their fans. I got more than I could have ever asked for. I'll still show up for all the shows and movies though (except for what Sony makes)! Sorry for the long/weird rant.
  8. The God Bomb arc is one of my favorite Thor storylines. I am nervous and excited to see it on the screen. Excited for Bale as Gorr but nervous because we won't get the three Thor's in this to fight him (Thor the God, Thor the Avenger, and Thor the King). Seems like it will be Thor and Jane Foster who fight him instead so that she can officially take the helm. I was hoping we'd see a trailer for this before Multiverse of Madness but now that they announced the Avatar 2 teaser is attached to Dr. Strange I don't know if we will. Won't give up hope though!
  9. Really just a repost from the "Movies in Cinema" section, but figured it fits here too: Finally got see The Batman yesterday. Overall, I think it is a great take on Batman and a fun movie overall. I am only echoing things others have said but will put my thoughts down: PROS: Robert Pattinson is a great Batman! I know some don't like his Bruce Wayne but I don't think he is playing Bruce Wayne (I dont think Bruce Wayne even exists yet in this movie). This is a story of a very young Batman - they mention in the movie that the Waynes were killed 20 years ago and Bruce was 10 or so when they died so he is only around 30 and has only been Batman for 2 years. He says he is "Vengeance", not he is Batman. Batman is all trauma and violence at this age, he has no need for "Bruce Wayne". I think his Bruce Wayne (which is a character that Batman plays) will come in time as Pattinson's Batman grows and changes. Finally good Batman combat! I will always love Nolan and the DK trilogy but the hand-to-hand stuff in those is hard to watch. Reeves knows how to make a cinematic shot like very few directors today! The intro of the Batmobile - the roar, the engine beginning to glow in the dark, exhaust flames shoot in all directions - it was like a monster coming to life. It was gorgeous. That car chase! We finally get to see Batman be a detective! CONS: 3 hours was pompous and unnecessary. I was exhausted coming out of this. Should have been 2-2.5. The shriek that the Riddler lets out when he attacks his first victim. Paul Dano - I was very excited for him to be the Riddler but his take was all over the place. He went from terrifying in the mask, to hokey talking to Batman in chains, to a trite characture while singing or dancing in his cell. Just didn't do it for me and I think that Paul Dano is a great actor. Batman's brainstorming session that ruined the floor instead of doing it in the Batcave (the Wayne Corp accountants are going to find that wierd the next time the come over to discuss company finances). I will need to let this soak in a while longer but right now it comes in second behind TDK for me. A solid 7.5-8/10. Excited to see the next one! With Gotham flooded I wonder if they are going to reference the Snyder Year Zero storyline in coming sequels...I would like to see that.

  11. Here are my new editions from last week! First up, Jaws and ET from UHD Club: Both of these boxes are beautiful. The texture, colors, and lenticular all came out well. Likewise, the inner boxsets and tri-folds have some really great details. Love the change in texture and embossing on both of these: The coins have a ton of detail and feel great in-hand. Definitely a fun collector's piece. The only dissapointing part of these sets is the inside packaging details. It seems like there may have been a rush to finish because the inner boxsets do not fit snugly into the outer boxes and the packaging used is flimsy and not the quality we usually see from UHD. You can see here the gap at the top - the contents move around inside the box. You can also see how damaged/cheap the filler is: The ET one was completely flattened on bottom. Here is another look where you can see the ribbon isn't even long enough to provide assistance in getting the contents out of the box. Feels like it was an after-thought: Very flimsy: Loose foam board behind the cardboard to fill the gap: Don't get me wrong - I still think these editions came out great overall. When it comes to UHD Club I am just surprised to see this. They are always very detail-oriented and build beautiful products. Not sure what happened here. Either way, I will still show up for almost anything they release! Speaking of beautiful attention to detail, Manta Lab's Her also showed up! Those 2021 MP coins look great! Manta continues to churn out top-notch products. The replica of the note on the inside of the boxset is a really nice touch. I also have the Criterion of Marriage Story and it comes with replicas of the notes they write to each other and that the story is centered around - really enjoy little things like that. I with more companies would use acrylic covers to add depth of detail to their steels. This one really turned out. Pretty sweet week all-in-all! Hope everyone else that received these enjoys them as well!
  12. Watched PIG last night. Upon finishing it I felt like it was pretty good, well made and acted. But after reflecting on it for a little while and having a few key details dawn on me I would put this in the good/very good range. If I had to use stars?: 3.5/5 Nic Cage shows that he still has acting chops - which makes me tentatively excited for "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent". The story basically follows the ultimate cooking bad@$$ on a journey to find his stolen truffle pig. He is basically the John Wick of the cooking world but he "kills" people with kindness and by giving them once-in-a-lifetime experiences through his cooking. There are definitely some hokey/ridiculous elements but overall it stays grounded. I think the theme can best be summed up by one of the movies quotes: "We don't get a lot of things to really care about." But it is also about loss and forgiveness. It is a slow movie that, for me, went by quickly - which I enjoy. Give it a shot if is sounds up your alley!
  13. These beauty shots broke me! I made a deal with myself at the beginning of this year to FOCUS on my favorite companies and support MP - Manta, UHD Club, BN, and maybe some HDZeta sprinkled in. What I was not going to do was moth-to-the-flame for every pretty edition that came out from every company! Then these. I just can't not have this on my shelf. Im so weak...
  14. Saw an invoice come through for an amount I was sure was BN Edge of Tomorrow only to find that it was for this and E.T.!! I mean, knowing that the BN invoice is coming right behind this makes me gag a little, but still an awesome, unexpected surprise! I know shipping is still probably a ways off but one step closer to having 2 more UHD's in my hands...
  15. @extantsrevenge - If you would be so kind...
  16. @extantsrevenge - first 30 for your consideration
  17. @extantsrevenge - whenever you get a chance - thanks in advance.
  18. UHD Club TDK Triogy Boxset arrived yesterday! Very excited to have this on display. As always, UHD Club has built a beautiful edition. Really great use of texture on the sides of the box make The Joker and Bane pop! This really is a lenticular-lovers dream - lenticulars everywhere! The slips are all gorgeous! These metal cards inside the extras boxes are a very nice touch as well. Ill admit the Bane print on this one is a little funny. Wondering where they pulled the body from because it definitely isn't Tom Hardy... This is definitely the most expensive shelf in my office now... UHD Club continues to impress! Between them and Manta I dont need much else...
  19. Not the biggest floating head fan but still sooooo excited for this! I know a lot of people are bummed that this OC is down to 2 slips but I love the idea of getting a few collectables in a boxset. I am a fullslip person so a DL gives me about twice as much lenticular as I ever need... Manta continues to be the best out there in my opinion. Ill pretty much buy whatever they put out (except ZSJL). Excited to see if they can shift the quality of their premiums over to movie replicas.
  20. Shipping has varied in the past but I would estimate $50 for a one-click, less for single editions.
