I’ve missed out on all the other Spider-verse releases so this is very welcome news!

I’m still wondering how they are going to handle the BP handoff. But for a Black Panther trailer with really no BP footage this is pretty exciting. Ryan Coogler can compose some gorgeous shots. The underwater birth and the soldiers on the blue whale look beautiful and epic. Excited but nervous. Chadwick brought great charisma to that role. Whoever is next has big shoes to fill.

Knowing that we are ending P6 with 2 Avengers movies, who does everyone think will make the team this time around? A mix of adults and teens or just teens? A little weird to think that members of the future team will only have existed on the small screen before heading to the big screen for an Avengers movie. Off the top of my head these are the candidates I can think of: Captain America Hawkeye (not likely; I think he’s done; too old for this sh!t; mantle will go to Bishop) Hulk (not likely; I think he’s done; his arm is healed but done with anger/fighting) Wanda (not likely; I think Olsen is done with marvel) Thor (who knows, Hemsworth still likes playing him and acting with kids) Ant-Man (I think this mantle will go to his daughter) Dr. Strange Ironheart America Chavez She-Hulk

I hate to say it but a little disappointed with this design from WeET. Multiple reuses of character poses across editions: Hulk, Cap, and Black Widow. And the box design feels a little uninspired. I’m sure the finishes will be great as always but it seems like they may have been a little rushed with this one. Pained me not to get the OC but went with A2. Hopefully it at least opens up a OC spot for a regular member that wants it! Still looking forward to what they do with the other editions and I will continue to support their releases but more excited for what comes after the Marvel releases.

@Pbsw23 Just wanted to throw out that I saw Thor L&T yesterday and agree with @Boilersteel. Really enjoyed it. I went in with low expectations because of bad marketing and mixed reviews but came out very pleased. Not sure why some don’t like it. Give it a shot and hope you enjoy!

It’s crazy to think phase 4 is pretty much half way done. Even though it feels like there have been some good films and shows that I really couldn’t tell you where they are headed. I think a lot of this is because of how unique everything has been. They used to get constant complaints about every movie looking and feeling the same but they were so focused on created a 22 film arc that they took the hit. Well, that 22 film arc succeeded and is probably going to be one of the greatest cinematic achievements in history for a while. But now that a new era is beginning I think they are taking those old complaints to heart. Almost every movie or show in P4 has had a unique director/creators behind it and a very distinct feel, but they are sacrificing cohesiveness for this. Im not saying this is good or bad; just observing and reflecting. I also think changes to the schedule and filming due to COVID caused issues. It all just leaves me wondering where they are going. Who is helping tie it all together? Up to the OG Avengers it was Whedon. Then the Russo Bros stepped in to lead through the infinity saga. Who is there now? They are obviously looking to work in the multiverse but Kang was introduced back in the Loki show and hasn’t even been mentioned since! They are introducing young characters for younger viewers - is the big plan to go Young Avengers? Who will the next team-up be now that Avengers are gone? Just doesn’t seem clear; hope someone at Marvel knows.

I saw this about a month ago now and I think the most telling thing is that I cannot remember much about it (the story at least). I remember cringing at a lot of the dialogue (never Raimi’s strong suit IMO) and the initial fight with the star monster (the CGI was terrible from what I remember). I also remember thinking that America Chavez was shoved into the story and wasn’t required other than to be Strange’s sidekick. I totally understand that the MCU is trying to give younger viewers a character they can relate to/see themselves in but for me I would have rather seen Strange and Wong running around the multiverse together. Also, the love story didn’t work for me; just not enough time with those characters to build something believable. What I remember liking: -The deaths. Marvel let Raimi have more leeway with some really unique and graphic deaths. I was pleasantly surprised by this. -Music fight. What a cool, original idea for a fight. You could pick up most MCU characters and put them in any MCU fight and it would make sense. This only makes sense for Dr Strange and is a benefit to bringing in someone with unique ideas. Same can be said for the reflection fight. -Raimi signatures (i.e. the living camera, quick zooms, horror to comedy transitions like the shadow on the wall, practical effects/makeup). -Final Dr Strange form. The demon wings on a corpse was pretty great. He gives a motivational speech with half his jaw missing. I also didn’t mind the reference back to dreamwalking at the end. Our heroes, those of Earth 616 will always be different, better. So seeing Strange take the Darkhold and the forbidden technique and use it in only a way he can was cool. I agree all in all it was fine. I’ve never been a huge Raimi fan so my hopes were tempered. Arguably, Olsen and Cumberbatch are two of the best actors in the MCU so the fact that the couldn’t make something great with the two of them together says something.

Now on to my 4th of July Sale buys! First up - Far From Home and No Way Home full slips from WeET! Off course they always knock it out of the park. Really love the glass effects on the back of No Way Home Now I just need WeET to go back and do a Homecoming full slip so my completist nature doesn't drive me insane. Next - Manta Lab Exclusive #029 - Joker ML continues to be my favorite premium retailer. Their designs, attention to detail and quality are tough to beat IMO. And last up is Blufans The Rock! I have been wanting a The Rock premium for a while and while I am still patiently waiting to see what MAG can come up with this Blufans editions is a great add to my collection! Couple things to share today. Fist off, I know they aren't premiums but I want to give a quick shoutout to some of the recent Best Buy steelbooks. I am really enjoying the slips they are providing with some of them. They add a layer to the art and provide some built-in protection. The Hurt Locker, The Cabin in the Woods, and Hell or High Water all came in last week. Even though they were packed in a bubble mailing envelope they somehow arrived undamaged! Really liking these slips... And the extra layer of design they can add - CITW is a great example. Interior/disc designs They really knocked it out of the park with the attention to detail on the Hurt Locker discs! The price tags, sharpie, and dirt markings all look absolutely authentic!

Happy Friday Team!! Made it back from vacation last night. All in all, it was pretty good. Weather cooperated so we got to enjoy some beach time but it was my son's first time seeing the beach and it kinda freaked him out so we spent most of the time at the pool. We took a shorter flight (only three hours), but I gotta say that entertaining a 1 year old in a confined space for three hours is exhausting! I enjoy my work travel because I get to catch up on watching everything I am behind on so not watching a movie on a flight makes time go by so slow...looking forward to heading to NY this Sunday so I can watch a couple things. My July 4th Sale package was waiting for me when I got home so excited to dig into that today! Will throw some pictures up on the other thread to show off my new stuff. Hope everyone has a great weekend ahead!!

These look great! I just hope they are made of a solid material! This is the type of thing I was hoping for when ML said they were going to start including collectibles. These are so much more interesting to me than another lenticular!

I’ve always kind of enjoyed moving. A little weird, I know. But it always gives me a chance to dust/clean all my editions which is very satisfying. Also fun to see some things that I haven’t looked at in a long time and remind myself how many great editions I have that I usually only see the spine of!

Goood morning fellow Psychos! Today is the first day of the first vacation I have taken this year! Pretty pumped! But also terrified because today is also the first time I will be trying to travel with my 1-yr old. Can’t imagine it won’t be a 💩show. Keep all those on the plane with my family in your thoughts. You are most likely right. It is a bummer though. I love the God Bomb arc. Would have been very cool to see All-Black and it’s origins realized more. Also would have loved to see Chris Hemsworth play Thor the God, Thor the Avenger, and Thor the King. The end of that story with Thor in the center of the bomb with two Mjolnir’s and every god in the universe praying to him is epic.

@Veum Very sorry to hear this. I hope the next 6 weeks goes by as quickly as possible and it all turns out to be a frustrating but easy fix. Ill be hoping for a swift recovery for you. And I kind of feel your pain. Before 35 I never went to the doctor; now I have multiple specialists I have to see. I got slapped with a diabetes diagnosis at the beginning of the year out of nowhere! I eat healthy and have exercised by whole life; no history in my family. It is apparently called Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults (LADA) and they are not sure what causes it. It always happens around 35 and something just sets it off in healthy individuals. I was down for a while at the beginning of the year but I am adapting and staying positive even with the extra money towards medications and doctors visits. Try to keep your head up buddy.

Follow-up to my last post (and part of the reason I started this thread) - TG:M is back in IMAX this weekend (June 25-26) so if you haven’t seen it with that picture and sound now is your chance!

Have not seen the movie discussed much on the site! I personally thought it was great. It leans heavily into callbacks and nods to the first, and the love story didn’t work for me, but the filmmaking and aerial stunt work more than made up for it. Some of the things they let Tom Cruise do are crazy. Without him this would have gone to streaming last year and that would have been such a shame! Even though we are used to CGI by now and it can do some very cool stuff, I think our brains can tell when things are real. We can almost feel it. And they did so much practically in this movie that it really sucks you in. Hope everyone can get out and see it on the biggest screen possible!
