I like them also but I can not remember do they take your funds immediately? šŸ¤”Ā

Ā

UPDATE:Ā only deterant for me is there funds policyĀ

Ā

(that is why at the moment I have the AMZ order cause they will not charge me until they ship & possibly they will lower to a better price later!)

Ā

Another question I could not find on their site:Ā Ā Do they ever lower their initial price (or are they locked-in with their initial price?) if other competitors come up with lower prices later? šŸ§Ā

Ā

For Diabolik If you pay with a credit card they don't take the funds until they shipĀ they take payment when you order. As far as price drops, I doubt it as I've never had one. Regardless, they remain my "go to" for most stuff I can't order through Best Buy as I'm supporting a USA based small business and they package very well. I never order steelbooks from Amazon USA as they are guaranteed to arrive in a jiffy bag with high chance of damage.

Ā

Correction - they take payment at time of order

Best place to order in my opinion, they always send items inside a box with bubble wrap.Ā

agreed. Ā Of course now they are out of stock so I joined their waitlist. Ā

As for Diabolik, I always order from DIabolik over Amazon and pretty much get all my non-usa boutique stuff from them (arrow, imprint, indicator, eureka, second sight) since Jesse Nelson (the proprietor) is a super solid small business guy, always packages things impeccably and only charges $5.00 for shipping.

Downsides are, yes he does take payment immediately and does not discount for subsequent price drops. Ā Also, if you order multiple items with different release dates in the same order they will not ship until ALL items are in stock. Ā (like Kino). Ā I'm just careful to break up my orders so that I'm not waiting for something I REALLLY WANT NOW artificially.Ā

Ā

Jesse also started his own boutique label Cauldron Films which has been releasing some terrific stuff (in great full slip limited editions) for the past year or so. Ā Cauldron Films

Ā

Finally, I've emailed Jesse directly on occasion when I was looking for a hard to find media book or one that the retailer wouldn't ship to the US and he's been able to get them for me on occasion.

Ā

So, YAY diabolik!!

I guess Iā€™ve been one of those ā€œmost fortunate onesā€ with AMZ. as Iā€™ve not had any trouble when ordering a steel from themā€¦ it has got to be in the different distribution areas and the different delivery issue areas IMHO!Ā šŸ™Œ

I've gotten pretty darn lucky with them, too. Got the last two Indy steelbooks via Amazon and they've arrived in great condition.

I'm always just happy when it's not Zavvi lol, as in my experience, they are the absolute worst of all.Ā

I have to confess, I haven't had a problem with them (yet) either. I recently ordered their Monsterverse boxset, and it was double-boxed! The set came in its own white box, inside a larger brown box mailer, with some airbags in it. I'm sure it was a fluke, but hopefully my luck continues to hold out!

Ā

I wish.

Ā

My monsterverse boxset did arrive undamaged tho. But my last order of Batman 89 / Batman Returns had to go back.
