Von Filmarena. Sieht also so aus, als müssten wir uns mit Terminator noch gedulden...:/

Dear Collectors,

we have been through the first half of February and we have some news for you connected with Fox/Disney merger.

Allow us a small analysis of what is happening in the world HOME ENTERTAINMENT market as well as our local middle European market. Many of you keep asking questions about the Fox / Disney titles and when they start again to approve some deferred projects from the Fox kitchen. We hope this post helps some of you better understand what is going on here these weeks.

A historic moment is approaching, closing a long, almost 100-year-long chapter called 20th Century Fox, and with this milestone is also connected to an important decision that will be publicly announced soon. It will affect the entire world market of media and all distributors, including the domestic ones, are eagerly awaiting a final decision, who will be the one to whom Disney will offer to continue the contract. The duel that has so far been quietly between the two of our local distributors (Magic Box vs Bontonfilm) during the negotiations will soon be over. And how will it end up? We will have to wait for this a while. We believe that the information will be released to the public in the following days, respectively weeks.

Magic Box company, the local distributor with the largest number of studios he represents, believes he will win the contract since they officially distribute Disney for several years. This fact speaks very strongly for this company. The second example of how Disney prefers long-term partners might be the situation in cinema distribution, where Fox has so far been represented by Cinemart company. But because Falcon distributes Disney in local cinemas, Disney decided to stay with Falcon and entrusted the cinema distribution to him. If it were done in a similar way in Home Entertainment distribution, the contract should get the Magic Box.

The second view is the long-term cooperation of Bontonfilm with Fox, which has had a very good and high standard, especially in terms of financial profits and the number of exclusive editions that we have managed to produce with Fox. Therefore, should Disney decide to prefer these criteria, the continuation of the contract will be offered to Bontonfilm.

You can see that the position of both distributors is very, but really very even, and nobody at this moment will dare to guess in which direction Disney decides to go.

From other pieces of news, we've found out that the approval team for our editions should change, and we'll probably be aware of any changes to the approval process later.

The projects that are currently postponed due to awaiting new information and a new approval team are X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX, AD ASTRA, TERMINATOR: DARK FATE and FORD vs FERRARI, for which we plan to use generic SteelBooks in the FAC.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for everything to be as good as possible for the entire HOME ENTERTAINMENT market around the world.

Yours sincerely,

JC for the FA team
