Ich glaube nicht, das man es je hinbekommen wird den Film in der Tiefe umzusetzen, die das Buch hat, mit all den Fasetten dieser Geschichte. Es wäre dann vermutlich eher kein Popcornkino mehr. Deswegen kann man da ansich relativ entspannt ins Kino gehen, wenn man sich dieses Umstandes bewußt ist, dass es eben keine 1:1 Literaturverfilmung ist. Mir persönlich hat der Lynch Film deutlich besser gefallen als diese Miniserie (obwohl die näher an der Buchhandlung ist). Wichtig ist mir, dass man gut unterhalten wird und einen die Geschichte und vor allem die Art der Darstellung dieser Geschichte mitnimmt. Logiklöcher oder Handlungen ala "Deus ex machina" sind ein nogo aber wenn alles passt, bin ich auch damit zufrieden, wenn eine Filmhandlung sich "frei" an einen Roman anlehnt bzw. einfach in dessen erzähltem Univerum spielt.

Und ich freue mich drauf, den Film zu sehen, obwohl ich mir schon auch im klaren bin, dass meine Erwartungen wohl zu hoch sind.

I have to rewatch the trilogy because it’s one of my favorites & it just seems right to watch them for the 66th time just before this new one 🙃

One of the little things I enjoy about The Matrix is seeing the whole thing playing out in my city (where a majority of the film was shot back in the 90s).

 

Aside from being a great movie, it's also an interesting time capsule.

 

It's not everyday you see your city as the backdrop to a major Hollywood blockbuster with major Hollywood stars.
