The NRA is a strong lobbying organization, has too much influence in american politics and continuously prevents any law changes. Unfortunately these tragedies will occur again in the future unless there will be an appropriate regulation for purchase of weapons in the US.....

I hear you @pluto57 however it is the EVIL that is inside every murderous person that commits these cowardly acts… even if we had stricter gun laws, the criminals do not obey those laws and it would handcuff us law-abiding citizens that would need protection (because like it or not the law enforcement are not going to reach some of us in time 😞)…

 

For me the ONLY answer is 🙏 and due diligence.

I think achieving some middle-ground might help.

 

Perhaps some level of tightening/restriction when it comes to the purchase/acquisition of firearms (thorough background checks on each person, etc.) and a more vigilant or rigorous approach to mental health and treatment of mental illness, especially among younger people.

 

It might not completely prevent these horrific incidents from happening, but may reduce their likelihood, which is still sad.

 

These issues can be hard to approach and deal with.
