  1. It's actually pretty simple, but it throws a lot of stuff at you that's not at all important, so you have to see it more than once to be able to know what to pay attention to and what to ignore. It could have been called Red Herring or MacGuffin.
  2. It's based on an uber-classic Batman graphic novel, so people are eager to see what it's like translated into a movie.
  3. Option 1: You buy it One week after it ships, three other premium retailers announce editions, two of which you like much better than this one. Option 2: You don't buy it There is never another steel or premium edition for the movie, and the price of this edition skyrockets, making it impossible to obtain. Your choice! Personally, I like this one a lot. Understated, elegant treatment for a sci-fi minor classic.
  4. I can't tell you how much I wished that this new-message alert was going to be an official release date.
  5. Here's something else you'll enjoy: On the soundtrack, if you play the track "Meeting Neil" backwards, you hear The Protagonist's theme—the two friends' lives are intertwined, but moving in opposite directions. I agree with you, this movie gets better and better.
  6. Even the WeET Pan's Labyrinth gold fullslip, which everyone loved, I thought was just okay. Same for the Kimchi Blade Runner 2049 fullslip. You just can't imagine how disappointing I'd find anything that includes the words "Marvel" or "Avengers." But that's speaking more generally, not just about fullslip quality.
  7. Totally agree. It's the lenticular that makes an edition feel fancy. People can make fullslips look amazing in photos, and then when I actually seem them in person, I'm always disappointed.
  8. What's there in Tenet is relatively simple, once you cut through all the misdirections and red herrings (of which there are a lot!). The challenge is that this is Not as excited for these editions as I'd hoped. Slight preference for SL, but DL may turn out well, too.
  9. When I first saw this thread, I was thinking it was the comedy spoof A Chinese Odyssey 2002 (which I remember being hilarious). Now I see from IMDB that pretty much every third movie made in China is called A Chinese Odyssey. (That might be an exaggeration, but there are about seven.)
  10. Suggestion: Create a new thread called "People who want to send each other an infinity of gifs"
  11. For people who don't like the movie, that one would also be sarcastic. I love the movie, but all of those quotes are pretty funny.
  12. Award day for me. https://mediapsychos.com/topic/604-show-us-all-your-latest-group-buy-or-other-receptions-steelbookdigibook-digipack-collectors/?do=findComment&comment=366119 https://mediapsychos.com/topic/604-show-us-all-your-latest-group-buy-or-other-receptions-steelbookdigibook-digipack-collectors/?do=findComment&comment=366120 https://mediapsychos.com/topic/604-show-us-all-your-latest-group-buy-or-other-receptions-steelbookdigibook-digipack-collectors/?do=findComment&comment=390725 https://mediapsychos.com/topic/604-show-us-all-your-latest-group-buy-or-other-receptions-steelbookdigibook-digipack-collectors/?do=findComment&comment=390727 https://mediapsychos.com/topic/10910-the-wizard-of-oz-80th-anniversary-hdzeta-silver-label-exclusive-wwa-4k-steelbook-china/?do=findComment&comment=400428
  13. It may be the same steelbook as in other countries, but I'm sure FNAC would be willing to turn the spine around the other way for you, if you want that special "French steelbook" look.
  14. Here is where I bought it from (also available at JSDVD, but their checkout/payment system is more confusing for overseas customers). It's just the slip, the WWA steelbook, and some photo cards tucked inside the steelbook, so it doesn't have an overwhelmingly "premium" feel. But the slip is pretty good, and the steelbook definitely needed to be covered up.
  15. And new arrivals from Taiwan. Both are a case of "When good slips happen to bad steelbooks." The Psycho slip now houses the previous Zavvi steel, which I like the best of all the steels for the movie so far.
  16. It's almost a running gag, how Lucas said repeatedly, for years and years, "I'll just do this one more SW/Indiana Jones" thing, and then I'll get back to what I really want to do: small, independent, experimental films." He had lots of opportunities to go back to that, but...he didn't. Either he loves SW as much as the rest of us do, or when it came to it, he found he didn't have anything experimental to say after all.
  17. So you're saying there isn't going to be a GB? What?? How can they do this to us?? This is the worst news I've heard in 12 hours.
  18. It's one of my favorite films, and the final scenes resonate with me, and I'm closing my eyes and trying to feel...but none of the Birnenblatt editions does much for me. Glad you love it so much, though! Different opinions are fun!
  19. Now I understand why Bill's face is covered up on the front of the box. 😜
