Can you at least say, even very subtly and indirectly, whether this release is going to use classic poster art? It would make me really happy and relieved to hear that.

It was meant in good fun. And hey, after all my comments, I am on the GB list. I do agree with you on this one--300 copies for a top-ten classic is really limited, especially when all other releases (including, sadly, the steelbook) are so dull.

I guess I just like to know at least one of those details. Well, maybe just artwork. There's just so much stuff coming out these days, I have little interest in signing up for something that is entirely unknown, even for a movie like this, which is one of my all-time favorites. If it was a case where the company needed the funds in advance to make the product happen, then that makes a little bit of sense, but in this case, they don't get the money until the product is ready to ship anyway, so....

But...when you open the box, the front and back covers will be backwards? I'm sure this will look nice with the lacquer finish, but I find the cropping a little odd--cutting off the fingers on the front cover, and then my eye is drawn right to the disembodied fingertip on the back cover. There was no way to crop this a little differently?

A shirt-and-tie combo like what Deckard wears in the original would be an awesome gift. Always loved that outfit.

I feel exactly the same way. If there were confirmation that UHD will also do the original BR, this would be a little bit easier to check out. But I'm not sure that I need one randomly huge fancy-box on the shelf. One of the things I love about steelbooks is the nice uniformity of the look on the shelf.

Oh, I have all the steels already. I just mean, when it's an ultra-fancy edition like this, it'd be nice if both sets had all the discs. I'm also wondering what's on the UC-exclusive bonus disc.

Given that there have already been about a buhzillion steelbook editions for BR2049, I wouldn't mind if there were just one of these--and that included all the discs. I find it a little annoying when different editions have different selections of discs.

Minor details such as what it looks like, how much it costs, and when it might ship could help us get excited, though.

I totally agree. I feel like with editions that are this deluxe, it'd be better to go with established classic titles, not current blockbusters. (Obviously I'm not a businessman...) I do think BR2049 will prove to be an enduring classic. But I'd like it if there was an indication that the original might also get this treatment sometime.
