  1. Yeah, that's good to hear. I'm gunna be kicking myself for a while for leaving it in my cart one day too long. Grrr. I read that Ben Hope is head of product development for THG. So, wondering if that means more of these type of releases through Zavvi. That'd be cool.
  2. So what’s your opinion on this edition in hand? Does it feel like a Zavvi release or does it feel like an EverythingBlu release?
  3. Yeah, that's wild. Kudos to you for making your coworker in to George! I love cheesy old sitcoms, from any era, I'm a sucker for a friggin' laugh track. So, my mind goes to pre-"Clooney" Clooney. He's also great in his guest appearance on Golden Girls.
  4. The warning is duly noted. And yet, I am helpless to heed it my friend. Tis a gift to be possessed by the desire for things of beauty. - BreakBeatDJ (speaking slowly in Jean-Luc Picard's wizened voice as a flute and oboe off in the distance crescendo)
  5. Really nice evaluation of Clooney. I'm a big fan as well. I think he'd get a lot more cred if he weren't so charming and funny. But I agree, he has that movie star thing going on. Uh, . . . "Out of Sight"? Nah, Facts of Life as George Burnett!! Crazy subtle performance.
  6. I'm still at the phase of my collecting where I'm focusing on the standard canonic releases. But, man, viewing this thread gets me excited to start getting more unique releases. There are some wonderful editions represented above.
  7. S'up MP crew? We've had some wind here in VA, so the leaves are blowing off the trees a little faster than usual. But, it's still a special time of year, with the colors changing daily. We can't seem to stay inside for too long. I think we're averaging about 5 miles a day of hikes in October, according to Mr. Apple Watch. Hope all Psychos are happy and have great plans for the weekend.
  8. I think this one has the potential to be added to the canon of must watch Christmas movies . . . step aside Elf.
  9. I think this is a fantastic idea. But . . . is the "Grail" plaque on the bottom where the title of the steel would go? If not, forget the below. For me, I'd rather see an elegant frame, like you've created, but with no plaque for the name of the movie. Seems super redundant. And not only that, the reason a lot of us collect steels (in general) is to have few words on the front, and more art. I'd rather have a frame that is pure steel, and no plaque. Having said that, I'd buy some anyway. Thanks for bringing this out!
  10. It's quite amazing, just focusing on a few franchises gets you to 50 super duper quick. My submission for the 50 Steelbook award. Just fyi, I bought Coming to America for the poster. Priceless. "I got a special treat for ya' this evening, a young man that you all know as Joe the Policeman from the "What's Going Down" episode of "That's My Momma." . . Big round of applauss for Jackson Heights own, Mr. Randy Watson, YES! Randy Watson." -Reverend Brown
  11. Hahahaha, no my friend, no need to apologize at all. I def appreciate you @Veum. I thought I had done something not quite right, or I had missed something obvious and you were just pointing that out with your usual humor. All good. And please, please, please, make fun of me as much as possible, it means I'm part of the community.
  12. Yeah, that's what I have been assuming. Thank you sir!
  13. E.T. The Extra Terrestrial UHD Club 4K Hardbox DigiPak Thanks to @Fortis93 who influenced me to grab this (in the release thread). I have thoroughly enjoyed this release and am now in the UHD fan club!
  14. Thanks for directing me to that @Reagh. Yes, I read that when I first started here and understood that to be the process. I think it's a fantastic process and the goal of building a community over time is fantastic. @Veum implied there was a membership fee that could paid to become a member outside of that process. Not sure why @Veum gif'd me with "shame shame" for wanting to be more involved, so I thought I had missed something. Thanks!
  15. YES!!! It's soooooooo annoying. I posted up thread that I was actually -24 reactions at one point. What is the next step to getting more reactions? I post, I read, I buy, and my reactions are always in the negative.
  16. Still making my way through Picard. Not sure how I feel about this show to be honest. The nostalgia is great, I like the new crew, but the story/plot . . . it falls somewhere between the wonderful overly complicated melodrama of ST original, and the focus and depth of Next Gen. Still, a few hours spent in the Star Trek universe is better than emptying the dishwasher. And I don't care what anyone says, a geriatric Picard is still the best cap ever.
  17. Yeah, I like this release. I had it in my cart and didn't pull the trigger, came back the next day and it was gone. Ugh. That embossing does look a little wack-a-doo. Unique.
  18. @Boilersteel gives a great overview of this release above. But I want to add my pics and give a few more thoughts. I'm not hating on this design as much as others. Could it be better, yeah, of course, but I'm okay with finishing out the title sequence themed art series with Blu-Ray only. Like others, I'm hoping for a new series with new art and 4K now that MGM seems to be winding up these BR steels. One of my disappointments in this steelbook hobby so far has been the low quality of the images/printing on the included postcards or character cards. Sometimes the image source and/or printing is so bad, it doesn't matter what art/design they use. This release is not that. It's not all perfect, but the included booklet and the postcards are much better quality than others I've seen. Also, I love the fact that there are behind the scenes photos and the booklet isn't simply a bunch of random 1080 screen grabs from the movie (talking to you multi-retailer Dark Knight trilogy). The back and inside art of the steels in this Bond series is basically non-existent, as @Fortis93 noted above, so no need to address here. The foldable Dragon Tank is a great idea, but Zavvi admits on their release page that the instructions are missing. So, hope you have a 6 year old to figure it out. I didn't shoot these photos in the studio, they are just iPhone photos, which has limited gamma and adds some contrast. But for those of you in to the goodies, like I am, here you go. Oh, and the spine matches all the newer Zavvi Bonds. As @Boilersteel notes, it has the small 007 on the spine. Thanks @Boilersteel, who is the expert, for setting me on this research and these wonderful purchases. STEEL POSTCARD ENVELOPE (and Dragon Tank) POSTCARDS POSTER BOOKLET
