  1. Where are you located? I'm in Virginia and it says mine won't be here until next week. Some pics if you have a chance. Glad it's nice in hand!
  2. I was attempting to give @Boilersteel some vicarious adventure while he recovers and is lonely for his movie collection!
  3. Yeah, I get it. My buds and I have a game night every other Wednesday, so I use all of them. However, because they are cardistry cards, they have to be broken in. I've also ordered the Kings Wild Project LoTR, they are a little more bespoke, I'm curious to compare.
  4. Just got a shipping notice that my Lord of the Rings cards are on their way!!! Will upload some pics when received.
  5. You're very insightful @Boilersteel, I was feeling contemplative and humbled by the experience this morning. Our dog is going to be 13, and has hiked thousands and thousands of miles with us, and she's slowing down a bit. That's right, at almost 13, she is just now starting to slow down. We were feeling the specialness of the moment. It was one of those mornings when the fog is thick and deadens all ambient sound, you hear every footfall, you hear the leaves crunch, you hear the dog panting even when you can't really see her. We were in the moment and never thought about a pic. In the distance we heard what sounded like a growling wind coming toward us, over the mountain. We saw lights peppering the fog above, moving really fast. The dog stopped, and gave a deep growl I'd never heard before. Then a Tie Fighter swooped above us and we fell to the ground. We knew the Empire was getting close, but we didn't know that today was the day . . . the day our oasis of a peaceful rebellion would be invaded. Then I came home and made a coffee and ate a cinnamon roll, and was told I couldn't watch Andor anymore.
  6. The early morning hike was foggy. Beautiful watching the hazy sun come up over the eastern ridge of the Shenandoah Valley.
  7. YES!!! Agreed. How many versions of Tenet do we need? So many great movies that need premiums. Give me an OC of Zoolander please.
  8. MANTA LAB : ME13 : War for the Planet of the Apes : Full Slip : 2D + 4K A nice edition. Some really great texture on the full slip and some nice raised spot gloss (whatever this technique is called). The detail in the horses moving through the mouth on the cover is particularly nice. My only comment with this one, like most of these editions, is the inconsistent printing on the cards. The character cards are great, smaller size with the white rounded border, and the printing is pretty decent. Most of these were probably sourced from a set photographer, so the original file was probably a decent resolution. The movie scene cards are not great, bad color balance, and some poor gamma, some light banding, and not great shadow rendering. The steel is vivid and super punchy. The design is a bit obvious to me, but still well executed. Another thing I notice about these Manta slips, is the lack of wrap lip on the back top or bottom. On a busy design, that little edge on the back doesn't bother me so much, but on something this clean, the box has to be smooth all around to get the full effect in my opinion. Overall, very happy to add to my collection.
  9. I think you tweaked your knee a few days after I joined MP. Holy cow, what a long road, hoping the worst is over, though. Maybe @extantsrevenge will give you some leeway: instead of pics of your collection, you have to chill on the couch and watch the movies that fulfill the challenge! Take care of yourself my man!
  10. Well, when I was on the fence about UHD Jaws, I got a lot of feedback that the format was great and the edition was great. I'm happy with it and glad I got it, but who knows, that could change. I appreciate you being so clear about your preferences, I like this kind of detailed input.
  11. Noted. I have opinions, but hold on to them loosely. As I get more of these editions and read everyone's preferences, I'm sure my opinions will change. Thanks for the thoughtful response.
  12. Walkin' down the hall by myself, smokin' a doobie with 11 elves. - Kevin
  13. Wow, I just got back from a morning of errands and there has been a Psycho Swarm of posts this morning! You all have been busy.
  14. Noice!! He's one with nature, a squirrel whisperer. I love it. Well, he certainly runs that MP Challenge super smoothly, and keeps track of it down to every detail. I get it. I thought maybe his backyard was full of buried OCs he was saving for the apocalypse. Thanks @Scary Hair
  15. Okay, I've seen it referenced so many times, I have to ask. What's up with @extantsrevenge being the squirrel? If it's a super inside joke, or personal, no need to divulge. But I'm curious to hear the backstory.
  16. I'm gunna have to search that out. I love both those movies. Thanks.
  17. I see you have the Compendium. That's the films and all the extras of the JJ Abrams films right? Does it add much to the individual releases? Am I getting it confused with a dif Compendium? Fantastic collection. I have the same issue with the Picards, the steelbooks look great, but in 2 years we may have some special box set.
  18. Yeah, mine shipped a week ago, too. I love classic cinema and wish we'd get a series of, say 50, classic films, done in this Casablanca format, all pre-1950. One thing that is very different with vinyl from movies: record labels do great series, that extend to hundreds of titles sometimes. I wish studios would do the same. Instead we have to (get to) wait for anniversary editions of great films and they are almost all different presentations and formats. Looking forward to getting this one, though.
  19. @Cornbuster award design is fantastic. I want it. 5 down 5 to go. Getting ready for the next challenges.
  20. Ever since he put Age of Innocence up, I've been looking too. So cool you got one. Only 45 of them made. I'd be curious to know how many are in the hands of MP members. That Rambo is so big. Great haul and great display as usual Gary!
  21. Really great presentation. Really enjoyed it. That Tron set is wicked. I am in the same boat, well over 2k vinyl. But not many soundtracks, I just don't listen to them separate from the film. But, totally respect those of you who have these amazing collections.
  22. CHALLENGE 10 1. Katniss Everdeen's bow & arrow from HGs 2. Musashi Miyamoto's swords, both wooden and metal, from Inagaki's Samurai Trilogy 3. Bond's Walther PPK (is it the 38?) from Goldfinger 4. Harley's Mallet from Birds of Prey 5. Rey's light saber from Rise of Skywalker Fav hero weapon . . . THE FORCE (and as you see below you can clearly hold it in your hand and fling it at stormtroopers) Fav villain weapon . . . THE FEMBOTS and smoke coming out of their jumblies.
