  1. Did you watch the color or black & white cut of the film? They recently started showing the black and white cut in theaters near me. Also, have you seen the original from 1947? It's streaming on the Criterion Channel now if you have it.
  2. I’m convinced this show didn’t need to exist at this point. We are 6/7 episodes deep and we have done absolutely nothing to establish Boba Fett as an interesting character with motivations and a worthwhile goal or story. It’s disappointing and feels completely crammed in to try and capture some subscribers/money. The two best episodes have very little to do with Boba and the previous four could be edited down to 25 minutes of character progress. It’s a pretty underwhelming effort from Feloni and Favreau who had, until now, been pretty effective stewards for the IP. I think the odds of them landing this season of television in a satisfying way at this point are close to zero - they simply don’t have enough time and spent too much time indulging ancillary plots. At least they’ve shown they can still make a good episode of The Mandalorian.
  3. I haven't seen The Endless but I've seen the other two and love them.
  4. Maybe it's because my wife and I are planning on getting pregnant this month, but that movie messed us up. I thought it was a really strong directorial debut with confident direction and efficient, if not showy, photography. I thought it relied maybe a little too heavily on flashbacks, but overall it did what it needed to do to tell the story and deliver on the film's emotional core. I thought the performances were definitely the standouts, with Colman, Buckley, and Johnson all excelling. I was especially impressed with Jessie Buckley.
  5. I think she's likely to get one, but this one was a personal choice. I was immensely disappointed with her performance in the film. I thought she was incredibly one-dimensional and more or less a prop/set dressing. I was disappointed too, because I think she's capable of giving a great performance, but the script didn't do her many favors in my opinion. Also, I was truly stunned by Alana Haim's magnetism and charisma in Licorice Pizza. Without her, that movie absolutely doesn't work and she does a phenomenal job with a fairly confused and enigmatic character.

  10. It’d be cool to get a nice UHD Club set for the first one at least. I’m sure lots of people would jump all over that.
  11. For me, it comes down to quality. I find that most lentis are blurry and low quality and often times the effect adds nothing to the art (a slight head tilt for example). There are some fantastic lentis out there with tons of clarity and interesting effects, but they are by far the minority. Full slips are just a safer bet in general since their floor is more acceptable to me - you know what you're going to get at least. I also find that I enjoy the top-end full slips more than the top-end lenticulars as well. Really high end full slips with great texture, holofoil elements, and great art are just nicer to me than a really clear lenticular with solid depth.
  12. I really loved it. It looks fantastic and I love the embossing. Very nice quality!
  13. This is one of my favorite releases in the collection. Absolutely stunning. Thanks for making this possible MP!
  14. As someone who missed on membership by a few weeks last year and has been looking forward to the opportunity to officially join the psychos, I'm hoping I can get gold this year. Good luck Shali!
  15. It might be BD-1, different paint job but it had the same limp. Cal showing up in live action would be super cool. We’ve talked offline about this show but you know where I stand, the show has had serious flaws in its pacing, presentation, and storytelling. It took 4 episodes to get to any kind of motivation for the main character, yada-yada’d about 5 years of history, and spent an entire episode (and the longest one at that) without the titular character. I’m going to watch it because I watch all of the Star Wars stuff, but this is one of the weaker entries in a while and probably about as bad as the last sequel film if we’re being honest.

  17. I have a few more amarays but I’m short by 2 editions 😓. I completely misread the requirements too (thought the 40 was a second tier). Whoops. NWH and Eternals are already preordered so I’ll have it soon, but they haven’t arrived yet.
  18. Finally getting around to taking some pictures for awards. For your consideration, my modest Filmarena collection as of today. Thanks @extantsrevenge!
