CHALLENGE #5
This week was so full of work, that I could not make it until this evening.
I had it in mind all the time, but nevertheless many thanks for the nice reminder @extantsrevenge
So let's go back... way back in the time...
My odyssey to Premium Editions began when I happened to stumble upon the Blufans OC box set of "STAR WARS - The Force Awakens" on a German bluray information site.
My first thought: "What kind of p i r a t e c o p y - c r a p is this ?"
However, as a Star Wars fan, my curiosity was piqued as I admitted that it would be a VERY nice thing to be able to call a big box set of this movie my own.
No sooner said than done, I began a deep search on the internet - and was proven wrong - what I found was not a piece of junk, but rather a Rolls Royce!
(However, it took some time until I could add the Star Wars box set to my collection).
Also - Blufans remains my favorite when it comes to the absolute quality of Steelbooks; even though WeEt produces some really fancy stuff, at least when you regard the technical aspect (until today) they do not exhibit the absolute precision craftsmanship that characterizes Blufans Steels - the degree of perfection of the gloss coating is just one example.
But as we have to show our first premium collectibles we got - I have to exclude Blufans here
(as well as KimchiDVD, Nova Media or UHD Club) - because the first pieces were the following...
So let's start.
1.
FIRST MAN
MANTA LAB
This is the very first Premium Steelbook I purchased (that time directly from their site).
Both because of the artistic design and the glorious workmanship of this steelbook i fell - like once King Kong - forever hopelessly prey to the beauty of these treasures!
2.
PROMETHEUS
Filmarena
Once the hunger was awakened, the appetite for more grew steadily.
After a short time, I had found out which retailers were leading the way for these products - and that directed me to a Company, that, - to my astonishment -
unlike most of the others, was not located in Asia but in Europe ...
Nevertheless, the next precious that I was able to add to my collection started a passion for this retailer's products that continues to this day...
(Therefore I REALLY can't wait to hold the LOTR Gold Label-Trilogy in my hands
... and you can believe it, my fellow members - no child waits more eagerly for Santa than I do for this set !)
3.
TERMINATOR GENISYS
HDZeta
4.
SICARIO
Plain Archive
Before I finally entered the sacred halls of MP I bought this Steelbook - my first but not last one of this Retailer - and what an amazing eye-opener this is!
At this point I would like to express a relief:
The fears, Plain Archive might stop the production of exclusive Steelbooks in favor of other film-related products have fortunately not come true.
On the contrary - the retailer has rather significantly increased its release frequency again !
5.
And then it finally happened!
Following the motto, better late than never, I finally came across Media Psychos - for sure the best thing that can happen to any serious collector,
and this was my first finalized Group Buy...
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 1 & 2
WeET Exclusive
I hope You and Your eyes enjoyed my pictures
And last but not least:
A
BIG

Beside of that little "issue" if we look at "Ben Hur" maybe the cool "roman sandals" are also valid as "transport vehicle" in this time period. 😄👍
My dear Mr. Minion... even though I really like Your sweet "Sandals-Proposal" this issue can easily be solved, as I already had prepared a few other editions 😎
So here we have the the replacement (and "mission finally accomplished") -Edition 😃:
Motorized Balloon-Airship
from "The Golden Compass" - here the Germany Amaray
(Airship is directly under the big "K")
More editions wanted?
No problem - a call for help is enough!

Your photos always look very professional with background light etc. ! Very cool ! My compliments ! 😎
Thank You @raylight !
It is an honor for me that my photos manage to amaze the Minions as well
But now it's time to make my contribution for Your special challenge!
Well, as a vehicle is per definition a thing used for transporting people or goods:
1. Let's think BIG...
DEATHSTAR !
Planet destroying Space Station
(I have to admit, that this is a little huge, but it's moving and definitely transports a whole lot of lads... 😃)
Even though @KubricksYarbles had the same idea and was faster in presenting his Pictures, I do not cancel it, as processing of these Photos took half of the day
2. A little more Star Wars...
AT-AT
(All Terrain Armored Transport)
Four-legged combat walker of the Galactic Empire
A VERY small one can be found directly under the "S" of the Star Wars Logo ...
but the ones on the OC_Box are easier to recognize even without the help of a microscope
3. The opposite of futuristic Transport Systems...
Way back in the time, we have an ancient vehicle...
Chariot
(from the glorious BEN HUR Steelbook)
4. Stretching around the Steel...
A pretty artwork that adorns the front and back of the Steelbook
SUBMARINE
(KimchiDVD Edition of Hunter Killer)
5. When You have problems in trusting Your human Taxi-Driver...
Funny idea used in TOTAL RECALL
Cab with Robot-Driver
(In the right lower corner of the Steel...)
•
So I think this made high five...
I thought this challenge was fun, although it was difficult to choose among the options... wanted to show much more in the end, but was cool anyway!
Thank's to our Minion for creating this event!

But let's be honest ... this award simply was inevitable!
(and he doesn't get any more humble... )
Anyway this is, what it makes me think about taking all these pictures:
Of course, this noble Award spurs me on to keep going with my hustle and bustle 😎
And to prove that these are not just empty words, here's a (very) small contribution from last week's newcomer from, because the

MANTA LAB One Click Boxset Premium for
THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS
has finally arrived:
Doesn't she look really cheeky into the camera...? 🙃

Next will be detailed pictures of this great release...
So stay tuned my fellow members!

Well my fellow Members,
I missed the first challenge and - just as with No. 2 - I just made it right before the gate closes (but try to keep up...)
Therefore here now my contribution for
CHALLENGE # 3
First of all, kudos to the many participants who contributed such really great extras !
I do not own so many specials - that's because when I started collecting premiums, I initially only bought Steelbooks (in Slips or quarter slips) and gradually added empty boxes. It's only since joining MP that I've become a true One-Click-Maniac, so it'll be a while before I'll have such an amazing collection of extras as many of you already do
(a fact that this challenge has proved !)
So here is my humble contribution:
1. CLOTH PATCH from the German TURBINE MEDIA DeLuxe Edition (Cover A) of
John Carpenters's
THE THING
As this Movie is one of my all time favorites, this special had to be presented here again.
•
2. METAL STICKER included in the fantastic WeET One Click of
MARVEL STUDIOS
BLACK PANTHER
This edition showed early on that a new star had risen in the premium media firmament with this retailer...
•
3. LOGO BATCH in the Blufans Fanbox of
SPIDER-MAN
Far from Home
At first I was a little disappointed to have to decide on the fan box in order to be able to secure the steel, since it is still unclear whether there will be an OC later.
But in the end this nice logo batch presented here made me satisfied (the steelbook is an outstanding beauty anyway) so that in the end I didn't regret buying the fan box.
•
FINALLY AN ENCORE...
(because I regard THE CAT that was delivered as an addition to THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS One-Click-Box to be a quite funny goodie)
•
And - as always - I hope that You and Your eyes enjoyed my pictures

But... I will never keep up trying until 😎

Wow my fellow members ... so many gorgeous Editions !
I'll still try to prove myself worthy of this challenge.
However, I can't help but use, at least in two cases, the same editions already presented by Eli and other members
(to compensate, I gave my best to give extra care in creating the photos).
It's really hard to pick particular favorites - these include the HDZeta Dark Knight Trilogy and many, many more.
But I've picked a few specials that are standout editions of my collection in one way or another.
•
Let's start with the Edition that has remained my absolute grail in terms of the OC Box to this day:
BATMAN v SUPERMAN
HDZeta Gold Label
One Click Box
•
Second one is a favorite not because of the Steelbook -
(which is also nice, because the appearance of the artwork used corresponds to the rough character of the movie)
- but especially because the full slip is something extraordinary in that it was made translucent
(which results in some special lighting options, as the following photos show):
DREDD
Novamedia Fullslip
... and the Steel:
•
Then we have the European Release of a Classic of my childhood.
A movie that carries the enthusiasm of the films of the 80s, whose deeply human message was foremost that together, close friends can achieve any good thing.
The Edition is fantastic and the amazing Steelbook has embossings on both sides.
THE GOONIES
CINEMUSEUM EXCLUSIVE #03
One Click Box
and together as one...:
•
The Non-Steelbook Premium HAS to be this one (sorry Eli - but there is no way NOT choosing it too).
No words needed to describe it's beauty - the pictures speak for themselves.
BLADE RUNNER
UHD Club Wooden Box
•
And here the second Edition that was already posted by @R1s1ngs0n.
However, it is one of my absolute favorites - and as Eli had already said perfectly, it is a real work of art down to the last detail.
I just had to dedicate a few more photos to this veritable Grail.
PAN'S LABYRINTH
TheOn #002
One Click Box
•
These were "the Five".
May I be allowed to present a last treasure (outside the competition), although I have already showed an edition of HDZeta with BvS.
But this one - which is definitely one of my all time favorites - proves what great works of art this retailer can create (which gives me hope for Lord of the Rings...)THE TERMINATOR
HDZeta Gold Label
and in combination with the One Click Box:
but that's enough for today...
Anyway - I hope You and Your eyes enjoy!

I like the sticker you did ! LOL
I know, I know @Masterblaster ... not really an "officially authorized" MP-Design-Product, huh?
But was so happy about the new Group Buy additions that spontaneously had to create a free advertising contribution 😎
- and in the end I had to bow to this impulse, against which I was simply powerless 😇
And oh, Hooray!
... FINALLY I found reason a to whine about something (and just when I was about to give up hope that the opportunity would ever arise...) LOL
Because:
Poor, poor Frank still has to design his own MP-Stickers just because the world is cruel and he hasn't got one single MP Coin or Membership card yet to present on his Fotos ...

Every time I receive a a foam protection packet with this tape wrapped around, I get excited like a kid
And this week it happened again:
Another Manta Lab happy ending thanks to the great work of the MP crew !
And here it is...
Although I was disappointed that it was apparently not possible to emboss the sometimes extremely thin sections of the fonts
and Manta therefore completely dispensed with it, the Steelbook turned out much better than I had initially feared.
But step by step...
T H E
M A T R I X
RESURRECTIONS
Manta Lab One Click
As You can see, you can't see the details when You are a "Sealed only"-Collector,
but You can rely on me - as always I'll do the task (at least for the most part) for You 😎
Let's begin with the Box
Included are
The Double Lenticular Slip
(not opened yet)
... and the Full Slip
Instead of the usual third slip, this time there is a "premium" in the form of a cat with glow in the dark effect:
Alright, enough kidding...
The cat is sent separately as Manta wasn't happy with the result so they had a new production made.
A quality related approach that is already typical of Manta this is really praiseworthy;
not least because the company always keeps its customers up to date!
But let's take a closer look on the Full Slip...
... and the Steelbook
After, as mentioned, the embossing had to be dispensed with for technical reasons,
Manta at least came up with something in terms of the surface finish
- a reflective layer in the form of a matrix code was incorporated,
which produces a nice effect under the appropriate lighting conditions (here I am still experimenting):
Of course there are also character and postcards
•
Finally, the overall picture of the usual presentation in my showroom (OC box with book spine and steel book)
As always, I hope You and Your eyes enjoyed it.
•
And next time - since I was able to acquire a special edition (in addition to the existing editions of this cult film) last week:
The previously announced
A K I R A
S P E C I A L
so I hope there's enough reason to stay tuned...

Hello Folks!
I start with a WWA Steelbook, which I was fortunately able to get hold of last week,
although most retailers in Germany informed their clients - one day before the date of release (!) - that the majority of the pre-orders cannot be fulfilled...
So I'm very glad that was lucky enough to get one...

And another WWA - but one I wanted so badly - and as always - MP made it possible !

I dunno which is worst - all the complaining or all the kiss ass
Tom Cruise would not accept this
I work in a field where you have to give 100 % every day in order to help people out of problems that are not infrequently endanger their economic or social existence completely.
If you manage to really help these people, they are always very grateful. That's why I can understand very well how I would feel, when tireless work is not measured by personal commitment and success in overcoming challenges, but only by the accompanying circumstances to which those affected are subject anyway.
So it's not ass kissing, it's supporting something that I and others appreciate.
To give an extreme example (they usually illustrate the principle):
If a lifebuoy is thrown at you, you should not complain to the rescuer that the sea you have fallen into is wet 😉
Case specific applied:
1. Without MP, most members could, at best, eventually purchase Edge Of Tomorrow for double or triple the price on well-known platforms.
2. Transportation costs are high - and this applies equally to everyone depending on their location.
3. So you either have to give up this hobby or adjust the number of participation in group purchases to your personal budget - or stop buying altogether.PS #1:
Even if this makes heroes shine a lot less in the cinema... if humanity kissed ass more often instead of glorifying the use of guns, many children could play with their father instead of mourning at his grave
PS #2:
I think Tom Cruise is a charismatic actor and I appreciate and enjoy the vast majority of his films.
But movies are a form of play.
You use or enjoy the fantasy that went into a story, but it's mostly not advisable to implement it in reality in the same way (just ask Count Dracula... 😎)

Unless the comments got erased, I didnt see anyone blaming John or MP for the shipping costs. People where surprised by the cost (rightfully so) and wanted a place to talk about it or vent, what better place than a forum specifically dedicated to the product in question?
John's Frustration is more than understandable.
I'm not sure wether it (also) happened here, but I have read some comments in other forums, that - even if the speakers had not intended this as an accusation - had a choice of words, that was at least so careless that it could also be interpreted as directly blaming MP (for shipping costs).
It is one thing to say: I am not comfortable with the things going on in today's world. But it is by no means adult, to lash out aimlessly no matter who you hit, just because something is not conveniant for you.
Especially it is not okay to give caring people - who work enthusiastically to make the interests and wishes of many come to life - the feeling that all of their efforts are not valued no matter what has been done and has been achieved.
So @Masterblaster don't give up on us.
The great Majority of this community KNOWS that MP is - to put it in one word - paramount and fully appreciates Your and all the staffs and the committed members work.
But even though I think that You know that (😉), there are moments when it's simply food for our soul, to hear from those who appreciate what we do, that it is so.
Therefore: So it is.
Take care

Came home late - but invoice paid.
Well the costs are going up everywhere and even members with a properly filled bank account should at least be surpirsed...
On the other hand, this is a development that has been clear for a long time and is beyond MP's ability to influence.
In addition, this edition seems to be a REAL heavyweight and a particularly heavy shipment from Asia already was significantly more expensive a long time ago

CHALLENGE #6
Huh... have to hurry up to participate in this new fun challenge to avoid that I get stopped by the coming week's workflow...
Fortunately my username is short enough to get it done relatively quick
😇
By the way - did someone say "username"?
So what does this inscrutable abbreviation F.M.S... mean 🤔
It is neither an reminder not to forget important security measures ("Fasten My Seatbelt")
nor a prompt to immediately supply me up with various delicacies ("Fill My Stomache")
In fact You do not have to enter the Chamber of Secrets to find the answer,
as the shortcut simply is a placeholder for my first names and my last name.
You think the Magic is gone now? Far from that:
This well tempered Egocentrism symbolizes that I am resting within myself
But now I must do my Duty...
As the punctuation " . " has no letter at all, I had to add my own rule.
So I used the first letter of the US-typographical expression "Period" - and that gave me a P for the dot (just like in "Point").
F T h e F o r c e A w a k e n s (Blufans One Click-Box & Steelbook)
. T h e POINT r e s t i g e (Manta Lab One Click-Box & Steelbook)
M M i d w a y (TheOn - Kimchidvd - One Click-Box & Steelbook)
. POINT i g (Novamedia Lenticular Slip & Steelbook)
S S e v e n (Manta Lab Full Slip & Steelbook)
Despite the nonsense written above I hope You and Your eyes enjoy my pictures
Mission (hopefully) accomplished !
And many thanks - as well as a lot of friendly pats on the back - to @InfiniteDoors for this funny Challenge!
