Congrats to everyone who get Platinum this year!! It seems to be much more difficult than last year and the conditions were different. I was a little suprised because i first heard about this conditions yesterday. But maybe i didn't see IT before.

I'm member since 2017 and even if i didn't write so much Infos and sent GIFs i'am really happy to be a member of this forum!! Started with Silver, than Gold and at least Platinum. For me it was a good way to say thank you to MP! I'm not the one who get's every edition but I get most editions i want and still own 95 percent of them. Also i got a lot of MP Stuff like coaster, bottle, coins and cards. 

So at the moment it feels a bit like a little stab in the heart. More than i thought. But maybe i can go back to gold and everything is fine. So i hope i will get notification for that in my profile. Greetings to everyone in this forum and especially the whole MP Stuff!! Chris

I can relate to that what You expressed very well.
I unfortunately also lack the time to contribute as often as I would like due to considerable tasks in a maximally demanding professional field (which sometimes hardly offers time for a food brake...)

In any case, I wish you that you will at least be invited to the Gold membership!

so i have now read the missing post from my leaving. So i have understand that some will miss the renew of the platinum. In the past a lot of member have complain that there are some members only here to grap the membership to get better chances at gb but never be active in the forum. So this time the admins now have take action to this i think. So the membership in this case is a reward to all of you who take care in this forum and have joy hangin around and all handpicked by the staff. So i guess i have understand with the last post i read. 

 when I woke up (like this) it became clear that @Veum  M U S T  have received his invitation... there were only 82 new messages

What Swish meant is - as far as I understood it - to use the club invitation settings in the notifications-section:

(IF that is needed at all, because THIS notification is likely to be sent regardless of your chosen settings...)

Why this is right?
No... NOT because the boss said so... 😎

But because the tiered member principle comes closest to the idea of a community.
Even if the hope of the greater probability plays no small role in the acquisition of a tiered status - if there were only the method: the fastest win, it would not be a community, but a mere war zone.
In addition: If the suggestion would become generally accepted to pay only a surcharge for the participation in a group purchase, this would mean: One supports only what one wants to receive for oneself.

The tiered membership principle, on the other hand, means: Everyone supports more than just their own interests.

And not to forget - we just sit back and let the Staff hijack the treasures we want - this possibility should be worth at least a small contribution to us.

And even though the chances to get each of the desired editions have become smaller due to today's development even for Tiered Members - remind the saying:

It is the good will that should be rewarded and not the result alone...

This brings us back to the beginning: What is a community - the best thing about a community is that you pat the other person on the back for trying, not for succeeding.

Even though - according to our Admins and Guardians - nothing is finally edged in stone yet (neither as regards the final 4K allocations nor the final design of the Blu-ray-Edition) - I think that the stone is already comfortably seated int the garden...

So I guess that

•    there will be no big changes anymore as regards the list of our 4K-Edition-Receivers

•    MP will do their very best try to secure as much Blu-Ray-Editions as possible for those who did not made it to the Magnificent 100

      ( and maybe everyone on the GB-List will be given the compensatory opportunity to choose this Edition

         - while retaining place according to the order in the GB list...)

And ... I'll have to say that I would be perfectly happy to receive this Blu-Ray-Box - it has a nice clean look (using the motives of the earlier japanese / korean steels)

(Oh by the way... as the artwork is not final ... why not use the movie title on the back of the box too to harmonize it with the Side-Motives... )

My dear Members and Administrators,

I wasn't aware that humor should be banned from this Forum (and I know it isn't).

But Okay - we take the matter seriously (for once and only once... 😉)

Well You are right, that sometimes it may be boring to read all theses "easy Pass"-Messages...

But on the other hand, sometimes I get the feeling that anybody who does not shout "Hail Freedonia" (sorry Groucho) whenever a Manufacturer releases a new Edition, seems to have crucified Jesus a second time .

Because neither HDZeta (most releases I absolutely adore and own) nor UHD Club (most releases I totally adore but wasn't lucky enough yet to own all of them) are gods you have to sacrifice no matter what they do to avoid being sent to a medieval hell...

First of all I did not send my comment just for the fun of criticizing - and I am definitely not "some people" - I just have preferences.

And in the end, taste should always be a question of personal preference - by the way -  I am sure that this also reflects Your understanding.

Of course I can understand that collectors who already have different editions of the same motif appreciate a change.

But one could counter that not every collector wants to own all available editions from all manufacturers and that it is important for this collector to own a version that uses elements that are also those preferred by the makers of the respective film (just think of the strict guidelines that Christopher Nolan always sets for releases) - in most cases, these artistic elements correspond to the "essence" of the film.

What I wanted to point out is not, what images are used on front or back of a product - but - Jaws - and also E.T. - are outstanding classics for me and for many other film enthusiasts  ( as is "Blade Runner").

"Jaws" is not regarded as a cheap copy of its own (like some of the sequels). In my humble opinion the front picture the Outer-Box evokes exactly that cheap feeling (By the way - I don't even think that this will apply to the rest of the edition.... !)

In Contrast to Jaws the Box-Artwork of E.T. is not bad at all - but again - for me - does not transport the movies general feeling, that is reflected in the coulor-schemes that were officially used for this motion picture.

In the Movie's end scene - the spaceship emits a rainbow upon the starlight-sky. Brilliant lights on dark background - contrasts like these are also shown in all official Posters.

Again - the Outer Box of E.T. is a nice artwork, but for me the color scheme transports the feeling of a scented room spray (sweet floral ) and does not correspond neither to the general look that was created by Steven Spielberg nor to the feelings the movie evokes in me.  

It must be added, however, that everything else of this edition IS carried precisely by this essence, the Outer Box misses.

To conclude - up to now, the design-practice of UHD Club (ESPECIALLY for the Outer box) has been characterised by the use of artwork elements that reflected the Filmmakers primary choice and transported the aforementioned "essence" of the particular Movie - and (except for some asian films) they also mostly practiced a noble, clean "look" (for example no complete Motif on the Spine, as this is typical for cheap Amaray-Artworks) - this practice can be seen consistently in almost all publications to date, as with

• The Matrix Trilogy
• The Prestige
• Dunkirk
• Interstellar
• Blade Runner
• Blade Runner 2049
• The Last Emperor
• Indiana Jones

So - to put it in (my) nutshell - my disappointment is therefore simply based on the feeling that there is a break with UHD Club's Outer-Box Design tradition for iconic Blockbusters, which I have never experienced in any Edition they released before - and I just hope, that this does not herald the end for such Designs as the (yet to be released...) noble Indiana Jones box set ... and isn't it a certain design consistency that collectors just trust in a particular manufacturer?

So, having got rid of this, I can drop back to tongue-in-cheek comments...

or - my absolute favorite: - from Ghana (!), probably used for a local video release, would even make a scarier box ...

But all joking aside - I too am rather disappointed with the motif - because even if an artwork has already been used by various manufacturers, in my opinion it is the end result that counts - and with a classic like "Jaws", for which a simply iconic design was created, one should leave it at that - and strive for the most attractive result possible.

In light of the absolute brilliance UHD Club achieved on BR and BR 2049, this sadly looks like a pitiful step back.

(Anyway - it is my unalterable opinion, that both "Jaws" AND (!) E.T. would have deserved an evaluation as a Wooden Box - and I don't accept the argument of current difficulties with suppliers - Movies of this class deserve nothing less than the best possible presentation - and justify time delays for the release date in any case, because the real collector - though always impatient - waits just as long as necessary if his desired edition-dreams come true at last.
