  1. Good afternoon! The spring is coming we will be climbing up to 27ºC (=80ºF). And I don't know if I'll have time to go, but I'm already looking forward to going to the beach. Relaxing, listening to the waves, resting, drinking something nice... Nothing like spring to feel that the good life is coming!!!! Good afternoon everyone!
  2. Good afternoon everyone! I hope you are all having a good Tuesday. By the way, I don't know why..., but no French Psycho has given a like to this comment of mine from yesterday. I find it strange. Option 1: They have no sense of humor. Option 2: They don't like traditional parties if there is no cheese. But there was cheese, I forgot to say! Option 3: They don't enter the German thread if it's not strictly necessary. Bet your life!!
  3. And how do you know that this did not happen to you before in a previous eclipse, and that this is not your original life?
  4. Good morning/afternoon!!! Yesterday there were clouds, and there was sun, and there was hot, and there was cold, and today there is only rain and cold, but in the middle of the week there will be sun and 26ºC (= 96.8 ºF). This week my player has started to do some strange things, sometimes just standing still for no reason. On the one hand, I've been waiting for a while for it to break down so I'd have the moral justification to change it... and put a 4K player, but on the other hand, it's not a good time. Better, to wait a bit. By the way, it's a good Samsung player, from when Samsung made mid-range Home Theater equipment; good picture quality, good sound, and almost 9 years of very heavy use without a single repair. Actually, the day that player dies I would like to change the TV too, but .... is even a bit older, a good Panasonic from when Panasonic was a top reference in TVs, and it hasn't had a single repair in a decade either. But for the moment I'm crossing my fingers that both will wait a bit, and still work. The day I make the change I want to be able to do it right. Have a nice monday!
  5. Good morning! This weekend in my city we celebrated a party that some people here will find funny: we celebrate when 215 years ago we kicked the Napoleonic troops out of the city and reconquered it. Everything is based on eating (a lot) in the street, drinking (a lot) in the street, having traditional music from here in the background, Celtic music with bagpipes, and.... represent the defeat of the French, force them to surrender, after which yesterday afternoon thousands and thousands of people accompanied them to the port shouting "There can't be a single one left!!!" After that, people returned to the center and decided to continue eating and drinking. In the end, it is not a cultural festival. Not much else is done. Have a nice Monday!
  6. Good morning/afternoon! Today I found out that a colleague who left the company left a lot of things undone. Unfinished business from many months ago. It's great how good people are for a laugh, and how hard it is for them to work. It's one of those days that makes you want to rip someone's head off. The lucky thing is that I'm a peaceful guy, zero violence, and in the end I'll clean up all myself for the greater good. But how I wish I had a button to push right now and it would fall into the Star Wars rubbish disposal. Good day to you all!
  7. Thanks to both of you for your help! I was thinking of ordering from the shop suggested by @raylight, because they have a great variety of colours and I don't have to pay customs, and when I was about to do so I found that all the coloured plastic boxes for Blu-ray are out of stock. 🥺 What a pity, it seemed the perfect option!!. I thought they were a shop to consider, I would have ordered from them and I would have been happy. On @Veum link there are coloured boxes but for DVD, not Blu-Ray. Thank you anyway! All in all, I'll have to keep hoping to find an option to buy them. But it's funny that it's so hard to find a shop where I can do it. And I really want to give some love to some basic editions that would look very nice with a plastic box in the same colour as the cover or the slipcover, and not almost all of them in the typical "industrial" blue. Someday I'll make it. If anyone knows of a shop, it would be a welcome help! 😊 On that day my hierarchy of editions will look like this: Top of the tops: films of which I have several editions including one or more limited collector's editions. Top: films of which I have a true numbered limited collector's edition. Highly prized: films of which I have a more conventional collector's edition or special edition. Cherished: films in steelbook or digibook. Applying affection: films in basic editions to which I put a box of a different, more appropriate colour. Basics: films I like or am interested in in basic editions without doing anything special for them. Anyway, I'll keep looking for a shop where I can buy the Blu-ray colour boxes, and that isn't a Chinese supplier that only sends you 1000 copies or more per colour. It's going to end up looking like the holy grail. PS: As a joke, I was about to put one last level, even lower: Marvel. But maybe some of you would have killed me, and I intend to make it to the summer alive.
  8. Good morning/afternoon everyone!
  9. It is a great film. Real cinema, the good kind. I can say with pride that I saw it in the cinema with my 12 year old daughter and she didn't ask how much time was left until 3 hours and 5 minutes into the film. I wish someone would give us a collector's edition!!
  10. Good morning, everybody. I hope you are all well. Today I am thinking about things I see around me, at work, in my neighbourhood, and I am more and more convinced that the biggest failure in our society today is education. People have less and less culture to appreciate what is different, less and less capacity to make an effort to improve things, and less and less calm in everything. Everything is either attacking or defending, on social networks, in forums, in the bar, everywhere. Everything seems to be getting worse and worse. Thank goodness we have this thread left! Have a nice day
  11. I have finished my personal tour of "True Detective". Season One: Glorious. A small masterpiece, literally. Many should learn from it. And in fact, many copied from it. It's perfect. Season Two: Underrated. It's the only one that goes out of the "True Detective" scheme, there's no thrill to find a culprit, and it's more of a gangster story than a typical "True Detective" story. But it's still interesting, no longer as good... but still interesting; a story with complex, compelling characters, where the plot takes a back seat in the first half of the season. I think the flaw was that people expected a Season 1 type of story, and that to make a season "only" about characters required a different type of director. Season Three: Here Pizzolatto, after the criticism of Season 2, tried to do Season 1 again. He copied himself. And you have to admit that, although it's not as good as that first season, he manages to make a really good third season, very entertaining, and at a high level. I loved it. I thought it was very good. And it achieves a balance between investigation and character development that is very difficult to achieve. Season four: it's entertaining, I had a good time, but apart from the fact that the ending disappointed me a bit, because it falls into certain current clichés, I think it's the lightest of them all. It's entertaining, but it's not True Detective, it's too superficial, it could have been called anything else. And the characters are a bit flat, far from the usual complexity that has been the hallmark of this series. Still, it's a good time.
  12. Good morning. I'm working hard, a bit angry, putting out the fires caused by some people..., yes, the typical people who tell you "I'll leave it done" and then it's not done. And a funny thing is happening to me. A few weeks ago I was locked up working non-stop, disconnected from the world, and to concentrate I did it listening to the OST of Inception ona time and another. Now, while I work, involuntarily, my subconscious is humming "Non, je ne regrette rien", by Edith Piaf. And it's a strange feeling... being tired, working hard, all clouds, little light, headache, you go on, and suddenly... in your head you hear that song. What should I do? Option 1: Pour cold water on my face, drink something, and keep working. Option 2: Recognize that this is a dream, Media Psychos is a dream, you are a dream, everything I have to do these days fortunately is a dream, and I just have to push my chair back and let myself fall. Option 3: Start working listening to AC/DC. Or anything but Reggaeton.
  13. Thank you, @Veum Do they have on-line store?
  14. Good afternoon, everyone! Yes, this crazy weather yesterday finally had me in sunny 28ºC (82.4ºF) having a drink with a friend in a terrace, and today... 8ºC (46.4ºF) with polar wind and rain. And no, it's not normal. At least today is Monday, but a different Monday: in Spain, Thursday and Friday are holidays for Easter. And I need it very much... 🤘 Don't forget: no boss is going to bring you back to health!
  15. Good afternoon, everybody. Something I commented on sometime in another thread in the past. Besides taking care of the collection by adding collector's editions, I would like to change the case of basic blu-ray editions with another case of another color than blue. Mainly black, but it would be nice to have white as well, and some other color. Does anyone know where they can be purchased? Thank you! Have a nice second haf of the day!
  16. Vince Vaughn, a clearly underrated actor. I'm watching him these days in True Detective Season 2, and it's amazing that he's not offered more dramatic or serious roles. I think he's very good.
  17. Relaxation Rest Sun Something nice to drink A good movie Yes, life can be wonderful! Have a nice sunday everyone!
  18. A surprise. I didn't have time to see it before the Oscars ceremony, it was too busy, and the truth is that it is an entertaining film, at times quite funny, and at the same time quiet. There are a couple of scenes that made me laugh, but even when it deals with the family problems of the main character, it doesn't fall into forced tears or too much sugar. And perhaps for some it will be an interesting reflection. I liked it. I had a good time.
  19. Publishing collector's editions of any Kubrick film is GOOD business. Always. I'll never understand why it's not done more. And most of his filmography is still untouched in collector's editions....
  20. I'm fine now, although I have some discomfort in another tooth that I would like to have checked. I have to go back next month. I think this is all a plot by the MP staff: they are doing a pilot test. Think about it: if we go to the dentist it's because something hurts, if it hurts we're more at home, if we're more at home we're more in the community, and we need more films, so... we sign up for more GB. I think it's clear. Next time you get a bag of jelly beans with your edition, be suspicious!
  21. Sunny Sunday, 26ºC (=78,8ºF), but as the weather is crazy, tomorrow we will have half the temperature, wind and lots of rain. But I love these spring days, more light, people take it all in their stride, and even the city seems to smell of happiness, of "let's breathe a little and enjoy". Enjoy!!
  22. Is it a virus introduced in the shipments? A sabotage from some other community? Or are we just X-men and our powers are starting to develop? I don't know, but clearly there must be a reason for this. What is clear is that today in this community if you want to be trendy and handsome you have to go to the dentist, or you are nobody.
  23. I hadn't been to the dentist in a long time. I abandoned the one I've always gone to because of something I didn't like (I'm an old school guy, and you have to treat people well, not just look at new clients), and the dentist... it's very serious, you can change your pants easily but you have to choose the dentists calmly. And yesterday I went and in the end I had two fillings done. I'm missing another one. And for my comfort they anaesthetised that part of my mouth. When I went out, my mouth was half open... 😆 The first time I tried to drink at home, the water came out of my mouth as if from an open fountain... How are you doing now? better? I read it's almost done..
  24. @Heywoodmoutaw Hey man, did you go to the dentist? Me too! Yesterday I was there, and although it was going to be a simple visit, when I realised the girl came up to me with a big syringe and a long needle on the end, asking me to open my mouth. What kind of people can dream of working in something like that?
  25. The fact that people are becoming more and more childish has a big influence on this. They don't have the maturity - nor often the minimum culture necessary - to know how to differentiate between moments, and to perceive the importance of what is in front of them. For them everything is a joke. A dramatic film, not having a job, human rights. Everything. And that, without taking it to that extreme, is also seen in many details in the cinema. Like when they need movement and action all the time, because they are unable to sit and wait, to be patient, to dive, to be proactive. They haven't had to do that in their life. Right. In fact, there is a certain amount of formal self-consciousness in showing some things. They just try to be in the "fashionable values". That's why there is a generation that only knows those "Values", and reacts badly to anything different.
