  1. Good morning, everyone. Yesterday I started watching ‘Night Sky’ on Prime Video. It's not usual to start a series that you know has been cancelled, and that has no continuity, but the cast and the very good reviews aroused my curiosity. I like what I've seen. But I understand why they cancelled it: a story about two old people, one with health problems, the other starting downhill, who have their ailments and their problems, even in a sci-fi context, calmly posed reflecting their day-to-day lives, is usually poison for the box office, and for viewership. Why? Because in today's culture people don't like to see where we are going, they prefer to ignore it. In fact, even when they are young they prefer to ignore everything ugly, and go for a synthetic, apparent, commonly accepted beauty. The beauty of two old people in bed, after he has had to carry her up the stairs, after he has forgotten to pick her up in the doctor, while he falls asleep singing her to sleep... is a kind of beauty that is not appreciated today. Something similar happened with ‘Vortex’, a magnificent film, by the way the only one in which Dario Argento is an actor, but which showed an uncomfortable reality. Even so, that these two grandparents and their problems... have a secret entrance that allows them to travel to another planet light years away from this one, seems to me to be a fantastic idea. And to narrate it without stridency, with serenity, at the calm pace at which they live their lives now, is different and at the same time very interesting. Let's see what the next chapters are like. Have a nice day, Psychos!!
  2. The weekend is an illusion, you think it's there, but it's moving away, away,.... When I grab it, I don't let go.
  3. Do you manage this GB? Are there different sizes to choose from or is it a single model? Is the shade of red the same as the MP gloves, so we can use them together? Will it arrive in time for the summer holidays? And above all, isn't there going to be a lenticular version with 3D effect? Thanks for your support!
  4. Let me guess... And she threatens not to get dressed until they come?
  5. You know very well that the @extantsrevenge messages box is getting full of requests from people asking him not to publish BS so that you continue publishing yourselves.... right? Psychos!
  6. I have watched both seasons of this series back to back. They are independent seasons, with different stories, and set in different times, but they share the same tone linked to the everyday life of black characters in local realities developed in environments where whites rule, linked to racism but also to the psychosis or neurosis of people regardless of their race, and to horror stories that find their raison d'être in a stylised and intelligent mix of all of the above. The first season tells the story of a black family who move to a very white, slightly posh neighbourhood in Compton in the 1950s. The clash is evident from the start, but everyone there has a past, and everyone is dragging their own stones. By the way, in the penultimate episode they do a little imitation of the already mythical Eighth Chapter of the third season of Twin Peaks, and, without going so high, they manage to do something very interesting. The second season tells the story of a murder investigation, almost doing a little imitation of "True Detective" dressed up as "Them" and its tone, but it soon veers towards that suffocating and terrifying tone that we found in the first season. I liked it a lot, I had a great time watching it, and, although the first season is better known, I had an even better time with the second. The most striking thing for me has been the narrative tone that the creators have achieved, mixing social racism with a certain taste for people's mental problems, and an elegant but sometimes forceful horror that keeps you easily attentive. All this seasoned with a very careful staging, an aesthetic very of its time, and a very intelligent tempo when developing the stories, but, more important here, its characters.
  7. What a great player! There are no players like that anymore. So talented, understanding the game so well, being so intelligent with the ball in his hands, and with so many technical resources. Unfortunately, young players nowadays are more focused on the gym than on training to be someone like that. Also, Bird always struck me as a guy with a very honest, even elegant demeanour. It's funny: back when to be elegant you didn't have to wear Armani suits, a lot of jeweller, or have I don't know how many additions jumping around on the court. Next time you're there, give him my regards!!!
  8. Good morning everyone! Yesterday I finished watching the second season of "Them" and I liked it a lot. And it's not often. It's not that I'm very demanding or not, but that lately -in this war of platforms- there are more and more series and less and less quality, or that's the impression I get. The lists of series to watch are endless, but then you watch them, and they don't contribute anything special; it's as if the golden age of TV has ended again, and now all that's left is "filler". There are some very good series, but in my opinion there are fewer of them than before. Too often I end up with a certain feeling of inconsequence, of having watched one like when you eat that food that takes away your hunger but you don't particularly enjoy it either. I liked this one. It's not one of my favourites, but I didn't think it was just another one. Anyway, maybe I'll start another one today. Although right now I'm more in the mood for movies than another series. Have a nice day!
  9. Another very famous film that deserves a very special, very freaky, very collector's edition. In fact, it would be perfect for a wooden chest, with a magnifying glass or a fac simile of glasses, some scrolls, a letter signed by the director, and the discs inserted in a fake book from the Middle Ages.
  10. Good afternoon! Don't forget that it's easy: we just have to survive until Friday. ;)
  11. Dear Psychos, I hope your Monday is not hard. Today I have been thinking about the editions I would like to take, and I said to myself: I have to think about it calmly. In another time I would have jumped into the pool without looking, and I would have bought almost all of them. Am I getting old? Have a nice day!
  12. I would so much like to have a collector's edition of this movie..... And in 4K it has to look great. If there is only a steelbook, something is something, but then Creator Era have to start thinking about movies that doesn't have a Collector's Edition, it's a good opportunity.
  13. By the way... Another very interesting issue is that of goalkeepers when Real Madrid need to win. Karius in the final 2018: Donnarumma two years ago Quarter-finals: And yesterday Neuer... It's always the goalkeeper who gives the ball to the striker... always... year after year... What is the mathematical possibility that all this together is always a coincidence? If it's clear to us that the referees do part of the work for them in key games when needed.... How many Champions Leagues have they won due to a clear refereeing mistake and/or a bizarre goalkeeping error? Perhaps Neuer's is the only one that can be excused... I don't remember the year they won without anything strange in a game where they had been struggling. None.
  14. I would wish you to rest... but I will not. Don't rest, it's Friday. Keep the flag flying high. Don't forget you are Psychos, and this is the German thread. Leave the quiet life to us.
  15. And yes, as unbelievable as it may seem to you.... It's Friday again! Today here we have summer weather, and we have to make the most of it because tomorrow it will get worse and in two days we will be back to winter. Yes, weather is going crazy. Even so, we still miss Mr. Lynch. We hope to hear from him soon!
  16. Good morning! I wish you a good weekend. Enjoy yourselves. Be happy. And don't come back without something funny, memorable or scandalous to tell!!!
  17. Are you surprised? It wasn't much different than when they also eliminated Bayern with two goals that were clearly offside. But don't complain, you put up with them once a year. We put up with them all the time. And yes, football is a very corrupt sport. And Real Madrid is the team with the most media and political power in a fundamentally corrupt country. What could go wrong?
  18. A company wants to set up a "Glamping" in a rural environment in Japan, a place where people and nature live in harmony, not far from the modernity of cars, roads and telephones, but with balance; a community closely linked to the forest, the animals, and, above all, the water. But the important thing here is not whether the company will achieve its goal, or whether the neighbours will accept. What is important here is the forest, the wind blowing, the water running. And how what happens to one thing affects everything else, including them. What seems like a vindictive film, narrated in a calm tempo, in reality it is not. Yes, it is slow, it is reflective, but it tries to take you into the heart of the nature that not only surrounds them, but of which they are a part. And in the end the important thing is how they connect with it, how they maintain that balance, at a point where the film changes and it's not the kind of film you expected. I'm the kind of guy who believes that Hamaguchi's films always have something interesting in them. And this one does. Still, it doesn't quite reach the level of "Drive my car", and I have to admit that I was a bit puzzled by it. But, in the end, sometimes you go to the cinema to be reconcerned, to be retained, to be stirred. Far from indifference or prefabricated products.
  19. Good afternoon, Psychos. It's unbelievable, two German teams in the Champions League semi-finals, and everyone is silent. One in the final and all in silence. In case some of you hadn't heard, concentrated on asking BS to @extantsrevenge, the final is going to be Borussia Dortmund - Real Madrid. And in Spain half the people will be cheering for Real Madrid, and the other half for Borussia. Actually, more than half will be cheering for Borussia, but it's not very politically correct to say so. Any Borussia fans around here?
  20. Good afternoon, Peychos. I have read that some of you have had bad weather, even tornadoes nearby. I have never seen a tornado, fortunately there aren't any here, and I hope I don't have to see one. The weather has taken another turn, and from the winter that had returned, we now have summer sunshine. Typical weekend to go to the beach. Yesterday I went to the cinema, I was watching "Evil does not exist", by Ryusuke Hamaguchi. It was interesting, one of those "auteurs" who always tries something. In this case it doesn't reach the level of excellence of "Drive my car", and sometimes it threw me off a bit, it's a strange film that starts out looking like a neighbourhood environmental fight and ends up being a kind of horror soft movie, but, at all times, it's a film that tries to connect the spectator with nature. And make you perceive how what happens sometimes affects everything. It was interesting. Really, I'm a guy who finds it interesting to watch films where you try things. Even if sometimes you don't succeed. What I like the least is indifference, feeling like I lost my money because they gave me anything. Best of all, there was the Champions League Semi-Finals, everyone was watching the game, and the cinema was almost empty, no one was making noise with their mobile phones! A marvel
  21. Come on, PSG fans says that this is the right moment to be closed in the room and sleep.
  22. Hey, good night dear Psychos. Today I'm going to dream of a collector's edition of "One from the heart", in an elegant box, with a velvet interior, where I'll get a nice digipack, a vinyl single of the film, a booklet, postcards, many photographs, a booklet, a letter from Francis Ford Coppola, a poster, a copy of a couple of props, and a snow globe filled with glitter with a Nastassja Kinski inside. Or better yet, when I open the edition at home, she will come out of it. It was a dream, wasn't it? Well, that's just it.
  23. A film undervalued and vilified by the then incipient fashion of belittling George Lucas, as if the wave of "veracity" that shook cinema when it was released needed to make less of those who -still- employed imagination, or even metaphor. As if anything that was not introspective, and presumably real, was childish, or a hoax. The curious thing is that, deep down, "The Phantom Menace" has much more reality than most of the films that critics of the time made, to such an extent that it contains many of the problems - and the lessons - of the geopolitical situation of our times. A story and a situation structured by archetypes, motivations and real attitudes, which elevate the Saga not far from that canon also assumed by Shakespeare and other great storytellers, by establishing universal and recognisable stories as timeless icons of human behaviour, and its cyclical problems/derivatives. The irony is that, far from ageing prematurely, like a child's toy going out of fashion, as predicted, 25 years later it remains an interesting, timely, engaging and entertaining film. And a film that, unlike the third trilogy, is Star Wars and smells of Star Wars, right down to that last final shot in which Yoda and Mace Windu hesitate whether they have destroyed the (Sith) master or the apprentice, just before the camera -naughty but solemn- shows us a shot of Palpatine. I was surprised to see some shots slightly out of focus, with poor definition, but the experience of watching a film like this, with all that it implied and is, in the cinemas, screens and sound, that exist today, far outweighs any strangeness, and becomes a fantastic cinematic experience. Never better said. By the way, there was not a single free seat in the theatre. Nor was there a single free seat at the next screening.
  24. Great movie! I've two editions, one DVD and one Blu-ray limited, but not too special. I like it
