  5. Schlaft gut und träumt süß 😴
  6. Yes, finally I have, and I placed an order. Here's what I've ordered, and why But first of, I'm a complicated man, so this was a complicated process, for which I watched and rated all the trailers, looke up if they where in any interesting recommendation list, looked up movies they influenced, critics consensuses, and IMDB rating, as well as counting recommendations, comparing to my watchlist, and looking up if there was a German edition for the movie available as well, that I might rather get, and last but not least, I also looked up some unboxings on YouTube. That's why I am just answering now. Yeah, I'm complicated... But let's get to my picks: 12 Angry Men Thanks to you, @Veum, for recommending it once more. It's a classic, and apparently (according to some instutution I forgot) the 2nd best courtroom drama ever made. I've actually had this on my watchlist for so long, but never seen it up to now. So it was a easy pick. There is however a German digibook release as well as a FuturePack, which both look quite nice, though. But I had to fill up to get another 2 for 28€ Cat People One of my original picks, however, in the beginning I thought it was the 1982 movie, which would have been much more interesting to me. But non the less, I picked it up, as it's said to have influenced a lot of other horror genre movies, it's in the "1001 movies you need to see before you die"-Book, there is no German release of this movie as of yet, so I risked it Diabolique Also one of my original picks, it's in a lot of top lists (BFIs 100 thrillers of all time, Guardians no. 19 of 25 best horror movies of all time), it's in the 1001 movies book, it's said to have the first Shyamalan-style twist, it was remaked countless times, and won a couple of awards. Also I loved the trailer, and it's a French movie, and you know me - I like my international movies And again, no German release for this Kiss Me Deadly Again another of my original list, and this one, besides looking interesting and having a great trailer that I liked, was also interesting for me, because it's said to have influenced Tarantino, plus Pulp Fiction plays a huge homage to this movie (I won't tell you what it is, if you don't want to spoil it for yourself). This actually has a German releasse as well, but that costs 13,99€, for a simple Amaray release, which only comes with the Trailer, and an alternative Ending. This cost me 14€, and there is so much more extras (different documentaries, an audio commentary, etc.). Oh and last but not least, 1001-movies book The Life of Oharu This is quite simple: It's a Japanese movie, I would love to watch more Asian movies, and especially Japanese movies as I am learning this language in my spare time. Also the topic sounds quite interesting (forced prostitute who fights for regaining her social status), and what I also found interesting was the trivia fact that this movie was actually underfunded, but the director really wanted to make this, so he did it anyways, paying from his own pocket. You know someone really cares about the movie and will put so much more love and care into it, if you hear something like that. Stalker This was again a pretty easy pick: I've heard of this movie a couple of times, it's said to be great, I've watched the trailer more than once before and enjoyed it - this trailer looks incredible, there is no German release of this, and it's a "soviet science-fiction art film" what a combination. It's said to be dramatic and raise a lot of philosophical and psychological questions, which is exactly my cup of tea! I HAD to get this. Plus it's in the 1001-movies book. Tampopo Again a Japanese film, so a huge plus for this one. Still the trailer looked rather absurd to me, to be quite honest. But I cannot ignore the cultural impact, a lot of Ramen shops called themselves after this movie, it's referenced quite a number of times, it has high ratings with critics, was recommended to me twice, and is in the 1001 movies book. The Uninvited And last but not least, this movie that was again influenced by the tip of @Veum, so thanks once more. I wouldn't have gotten this otherwise, I've never heard of it, but it's probably one of the more important must sees for horror movie buffs like me: It's claimed to be the first movie in history to portray ghosts as legitimate entities. It's one of Martin Scorseses and Guillermo del Toros favourite movies, and the former placed it on his list of the 11 scariest movies of all time. Also, it's in "the book" (you know, 1001... ). Each of them cost me 14€, and Zavvi calculated that I saved 72€, which is quite something! As for the other recommendations: I am not a big fan of romantic comedy type of movies, and for me, these kind of movies only get worse, the older they are - no offence - it's just simply not my cup of tea, I guess. I would and will watch them eventually, but for now there are so many other movies that got me interested far more than something like "The Awful Truth" or "His Girl Friday" and such. The other titles however I was really interested in, both sex, lies and videotape and especially the "The Emigrants / The New Land" looked so interesting to me, that I actually added them to my list of movies to get. But then unfortunately I found out that they where not eligible for the 2 for 28€ program, and for my first ever order at Criterion I wanted to make use of this discount... who knows, maybe in the end I don't like those Criterion releases? Then I did not pay too much for them. Especially as "The Emigrants / The New Land" is even more expensive (36€). Really sad, I would have definately gotten "The Emigrants / The New Land" otherwise. Last but not least: "Easy Rider" - for this one, I've been eyeballing the "Popart Steelbook" for quite a while now. I have a couple of those PopArt Steelbooks, and I really like them. Probably stupid to get a PopArt Steelbook instead of a Criterion release, but those Steelbooks where at ~5€ last I checked, I just need to finally pick them up There are a couple (not many) extras on the PopArt Steelbook, if the Criterion was better, I might later double dip once I've watched this movie (I don't know it yet). I am not sure if you checked for the 28€-Program, but I also picked out one movie I really wanted, Ugetsu, and I was so sure that that was part of the program, but today when ordering, it wasn't - so maybe there is only a small amount, maybe they'll change it around? The promotion will last till 30th June, so I might shop a second time at the end of the month (hell it's just June 12th, and I already spent all my money ). I might still go for Dreams, Only Angels Have Wings, Death in Venice and Deasert Hearts - and who knows what else is still hiding in the shaddows of this promotion that I overlooked?
  7. Guess what I got today . . . . . . . . . Ordered the MM/Saturn exclusive Cover B, that according to all the information we've had, should have been unaffected by this mess-up, because if Amazon only send out Cover C (which according to all accounts it did, there is no one from Amazon who got Cover A or B), and MM/Saturn got all the Cover As, then it could have sent Cover A to the customers who ordered Cover C. But apparently they are now doing it random?! I am rather disappointed now, and not really sure, what to do. Options are: Find someone trustworthy who got Cover B, but actually wanted Cover A to switch Return Cover A Sell Cover A on eBay (given that people are asking 50€-100€ for it...) <-- This would be a d... move, and I never ever sold anything overprice before. But given how angry I am at MM/Saturn right now, and not knowing if and for what price Cover B will be sold on second market... But yeah, that's just rage/disappointment speaking out of me right now. I'll probably wait, and have a close eye on YouTube - maybe someone unboxes Cover B - then I'll deside if it's worth all the hussle, and if it isn't I'll just keep this one (even though I own this cover on Steelbook already). Or I'll just get the flimsy US one additionally to this, if it's cheap somewhere on eBay... Having really wanted Cover B, this is an disappointment, especially because it all seemed like Cover B is untouched by it
  9. ... aber ein hervorragendes Lösungsmittel
  10. @Sephiroth Ich habe so viele Fragen.
  11. In my book, J-Cards are definitely preferred over information directly printed on the edition! Therefore, yes, I like J-Cards as well. Not so much for the J-Card itself, but for the thing it represents
  12. Just stumbled upon this gif that fits perfectly to this situation....
  13. Feierabend. Und da alles was man mind. Was fehlt denn hier noch? Oh!
  14. Update-Time, und dann gleich zwei Pakete! Crazy.
  15. There are news: https://mediapsychos.com/topic/13251-sleepy-hollow-1999-cover-ab-mediabook-saturn-germany/?do=findComment&comment=301928 Saturn/MM is now sending out Cover A, they know it's the wrong cover and are asking for forgiveness right away, but due to a Logistics error, they cannot get Cover C. That confirms all the suspicions that the packages where mixed up. Had Amazon worked correctly, and checked it's products before sending them out, this wouldn't have happend. Saturn/MM after postponing it two times, are now forced to send out the wrong Covers, because Amazon has already sent out the movie to all of their customers. Anyone who ordered A and C will get both, but from the wrong adresses. All the rest will have to hope they'll find someone to switch/swap, as MM/Saturn are sold out, and Amazon as well. Or look out for returns. A lot of Amazon customers will send theirs back, probably (maybe already have), so anyone who wanted Cover C might be lucky. Cover A as the one that is favoured the most, will probably be hard to get :( Amazon really f'ed up this time :(
  16. Okey, I guess now it's official. Logistics f'ed up, Amazon f'ed up, and now Saturn/Media Markt are paying the price, even though they tried, by delaying the product to probably get the correct one shipped out. Here's a statement someone posted on Facebook who just got his shipping confirmation: Translated to English (by me, no warranty on correctness ) : Good day, thank you for your order ... "Sleepy Hollow - (Blu-ray + DVD)". We were informed by our supplier, that on the product there is the wrong cover printed. The Blu-ray however is correct and not affected by this error. We ask you in the name of SATURN as well as Universal Pictures to please excuse this error. Feel free to contact us with any further questions. Best Regards Your SATURN customer Service. This means that everyone ordering Cover C will now get the Amazon Cover A. No reprints, no exchange. Take it, or leave it. Amazon is sold out, and apparently they are still sending out the cover, regardless all the complaints they got, so I guess there aren't any Covers left (except those who will send it back. So if you really want just Cover C, best to look at the Amazon.de re-stockings from the returned Mediabooks).
  20. You're Welcome. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys
  21. This is all second hand information, nothing official. But going through the Facebook threads where people complain about there Amazon order being Cover C instead of Cover A, these are the different and also contradicting information they got from Amazon support service: Some say that Amazon said there will be an exchange, and they should wait, it could take about a week because they don't have it in stores yet. Others said, that there was no other cover coming, and people can send it back to get a refund A couple of people where offered a discount if they keep it anyways; this discount varies from 5€ to 7€ To comfort the inconvenience some where offered a 5€ amazon giftcard when they return the wrong cover (with full refund) One person claimed that that he got is money back but could also keep his edition anyways and shouldn't send it back And latest news, apparently, Amazon has now changed the cover in the shipping information to the new cover artwork For all you who can speak German, I added the chat screenshot that people shared in the Mediabook-Facebook group. Sorry for not translating it, but they just prove one of the points above. Meanwhile Unboxers who have asked for press samples got the correct Mediabook Cover (see attached picture). This seems like a real clusterstop using inappropriate language 😭 The way that Amazon treats this issue I don't believe that any of the Cover Cs will find their way to MediaMarkt. So either MediaMarkt will have to send out the wrong cover as well, or they get an additional batch of reprints. Some logisticcs errors can always happen, but to me it seems like Amazon is the one behaving most idiotic - there is no clear information, everyone gets treated differently, and instead of containing the damage and fixing it, Amazon is making it more and more impossible, as they still send out wrong Covers to customers. Really sorry for anyone who ordered this from Amazon. Hopefully nobody here did. Otherwise, its probably best to contact Amazon as soon as possible.
  22. Ähm.... -1? Minus 1?! MINUS EINS?!?!?!? WTF. Was hab ich getan?!
  24. Oh yes. The originality of the story is really great. And you should definitely watch Seoul Station as well, it's a great movie as well. But also more devastating. It will depress you (at least it depressed me). And thank you for leaving the trailer here. I knew that Peninsula would be the "Train to Busan 2" movie, but I didn't know that there was already a trailer released. To be quite honest, I am not yet sure about how to feel about this movie. It looks a bit more like things you'd see in The Walking Dead, and others. So I hope this isn't a bad step for them. But I am also looking forward to it, and am open to be surprised. Prepare for the worst, but hope for the best - then you'll never be disappointed
