  1. As someone who likes classic horror movies and also someone who has fun collecting series I of course ordered one myself. For me it's cover B, as I like my covers to be a wholesome artwork and not some collage of different things. Also I like the art style more on this one. I haven't seen the movies yet, though. Oh, and for completion's sake: There are also releases of this movie by "Kino Lorber" in US and CAN in a blue Amaray, as well as in Spain. And in UK you have a beautiful cover artwork in clear Amaray by Arrow video. But all of them will of course be missing this new exclusive extra that is on Anolis' release. Anyone else getting one of these? And if so, which? Or do you own other releases of the movie (and if so, which)? Does anyone know the movie? Is it any good?
  2. Release: 09.04.2020 Link (Wicked Shop*): Cover A, Cover B Price: ~ €30,00 (depending on the shop) Time for another classic movie, this time from Anolis who in Germany are rather famous for their "Hammer Horror Series", but who also started a new Series that itself spawned three sub-series. In their "fantastic classic" series which Anolis started in 2017 they release international movies from different studios in Mediabooks (Digibooks**), and they divide them into decades. Up to now there's "The 60's", "The 70's" and "The 80's", each with its consecutive numbering on the spine. These editions - same as with the Hammer Horror Series - are rather limited (though there is no information on how many, nor any individual numbering) and sell out rather fast. They come with an exclusive and extensive thick booklet (unfortunately only in German) with lots of different cover artworks and a large number of bonus features (including audio commentaries that are sometimes in English, and exclusive new fetaures). The number 4 of the "60's" series is the American International Pictures title "Tales of Terror", which in German is called "Der Grauenvolle Mr. X" (The gruesome Mr. X), an anthology film consisting of three short movies that where produced and directed by 'The Pope of Pop Cinema' Roger Corman, and all staring Vincent Price. All three parts are based on short stories by E. A. Poe, and as such this is part of the "Corman-Poe cycle", i.e. 8 films Roger Corman did that where all based on works of E. A. Poe, that - with the exception of "The Premature Burial" - all stared Vincent Price. Cover A shows the German movie poster that is a slight variation of elements form the English/International movie poster; for Cover B they chose the rare Italian alternative movie poster. A feature that Anolis is pointing out is a 50 minutes bonus documentary that was exclusively commissioned for this edition from "Diabolique Films" who interviewed Roger Corman. This will probably be in English and could be interesting for you as well. I'll close, as usually, with the trailer: *) This is not a Wicked-Shop exclusive title, but usually is only carried by specialized movie stores in Germany and Austria. I'd usually link another shop here which I had made good experiences with, but I was asked not to link them here, which I'll respect. I also like Wicked a lot, so it's a good replacement; however they have a really limited quantity, and might run out faster than others - keep that in mind. I did not link Amazon, because Amazon directly doesn't get them, and companies selling them via Amazon usually calculate an audacious surcharge. **) One can argue if a single tray Blu-ray only package would still count as a Mediabook; however they are also not consequent in this regard - some of their releases are double-trays, some are single trays but with really think trays so you couldn't tell them apart from just the spine size.
  3. Haha, I love how this thread turned totally to something different (a general Wicked Vision Thread, instead about the edition). I just got a parcel from Wicked Vision and why not share it with you guys? I got: Funnyman Cover A -- this is limited to 444 copies and the first 200 overall pre-orders (all 3 covers) got a signed card by the director, who Wicked invited from US for a special cinema screening of the movie (and also to sign these - you can see how much he enjoyed doing it by the line that is supposed to read his name ), but also the first 111 pre-orders for this specific artwork got another card with the signature of the artist which in my covers case is famous German artist Ralf Krause. Hideous! -- this is the next title in their "Full Moon Classic Selection" which is their 8th title in this Scanavo-Keepcase series; it comes (as all the others did) with a reversible cover showing the complete original artwork without the frame and the "Full Moon Classic Selection"-Subtitle. Here as well, if you where under the first 200 pre-orders, you'd get a numbered trading card. UX-Bluthund -- this is actually not a Wicked title but those two labels are friends and that's why Wicked also carries their products - the label is Anolis and they produce Digibooks for Classics - most of them Hammer Horror movies, but this one is part of their "phantastic filmclassics" series, it's from the 60s and a Japanese movie, with original Japanese title "Kaitei Deisenso", international title: "Water Cyborg" or US-title: "Terror Beneath the Sea". Unfortunately not English-friendly: audio is only Japanese and German dubbing, and subtitles is only German. Tell me if any of those are interesting for you then I make a separate thread with some photos. Regarding the Full Moon movies: I never knew them before, but because of Wicked Vision I got them anyways and since now I've already watched their "Lurking Fear" which I thought was rather interesting - I loved this 90s style and vibe of it. And I also started the first 5 puppet master movies, and I really love those. Not all have the same quality, but they are really greatly done and fun to watch.
  4. Uuuh. Nice choice. I have to confess: I've got them all 😜 I can also recommend following of the Wicked movies/editions (unfortunately I haven't seen all of them yet, and also I really like all of them, so I'll concentrate on four of them I really love from both - packaging as well as movie, besides those you already mentioned) - in no special order: The Brood - absolutely great MB package with spot gloss varnish that is only visible in the right angle of light, and a great classic movie; greatly done. Crimen Ferpecto - I absolutely love this movie; it's so strange, but totally funny - something really different to all the other movies; and in addition to that I like the rather different booklet design they chose for this movie; in cover A you also get the cover artworks for B and C inside the booklet, which are also really great, you have a collage of pictures, explaining the different characters and instead of the DVD you get the soundtrack on CD. Hammer House of Horror - Artwork of the edition is great, inside not many pictures and all of them movie screenshots which is a bit sad, but the shots are really well chosen, which is lovely. And it's the stop using inappropriate languageing end of a legacy - Hammer's final production, a 13 episodes horror series. And no one else except UK did a release - and UKs release is a simple Amaray. So hurray for this release - and to be honest here: I didn't even know about this series until this release. Quality of the episodes varies but there are some real gems to enjoy. Love it! Scanners Trilogy - The first and until now only padded mediabook by Wicked Vision - and I don't really like those, but for this one it fit's quite well; and I love it for three reasons: First, you get all three movies, and as a completionist I love this - especially if the quality of the sequels isn't too good - then I always want to have them for completion's sake, but don't want to buy them for qualities sake, and always feel bad about this. Second, it also features the soundtrack, which is a really nice bonus, and third the booklet has a lot of poster artworks, which I love.
  5. Same here with the cover. Cover A is the official movie poster and thus rather well known (to me); Cover B looks great but is a bit mono-colored again, though I like the bluish ghost-ish art in the middle. And thus cover C it is for me. I also really like the motive - the dark stairs leading down, the candles, the rose dress against the greenish black and the hands creeping out of the dark - its so gothic-horror-esque, has a nice atmosphere to it (if that makes any sense?).
  6. Uh, nice to hear back from you two, and I am happy that I could point you to something new and interesting you didn't know about :) @Grendel That's a really beautiful collection you have, and totally clear that you'd go for cover B. It would have also been my favorite if it wasn't so mono-colored. I like my covers to pop with color :D Still it is a really great choice. Somehow my original post got cut off (probably did something stupid with my mouse while posting/writing) - it's supposed to say "It will come in three different artworks, cover a showing a resemblance to the official international movie poster, cover b as far as I can tell a newly commissioned design, and cover C resembling the old Italian movie poster (where this movie was called 'Delirious'). When I choose covers I go by both: What tickles my fancy the most, as well as "exclusivity"/"rarity". I love artworks, but once you have seen the typical and famous designs everywhere (hanging in cinemas [on recent films, of course], on standard VHS, DVD or Blu-ray covers, etc.) you know them already. So for my collection I like to go with something totally new, if possible and also if I like the artwork. This is my reasoning for not going with Cover A, and choosing Cover C on this release! :)
  7. いつもえいごをはなせてすみません。 But I think this can be interesting for you, and as we do not have a forum for just keep case releases this is the best place I can think of, where somebody might be interested: German label Wicked Vision will release the black and white movie "Miss Zombie" by サブ (田中博行). Blu-ray.com lists only one other release (U.S. keep case), it's the European release premiere, and audio will be German and Japanese, but subtitles will be both German and English, so it might be interesting to you guys as well. Release will be 31st of March, there is an accompanying 16-p booklet, but only in German, a reversible cover, and no extras on the disk (other than a German foreword), but it will be a dual format with BD and DVD. Casing will be Scanavo Fullsleeve, i.e. the same that Criterion (and now also British label Powerhouse Indicator) uses. Movie looks Arthouse-ish from the looks of the trailer, but also interesting.
  8. Release : 31.03.2020 Link (Wicked Shop) : Cover A, Cover B, Cover C Price : €29,99 Limited : 333 (Cover A) + 333 (Cover B) + 333 (Cover C) Nice thing about Wicked Vision Releases: They usually come in waves of at least two releases at a time, and given the above 50€ is free shipping (at least in Germany) and each of them will cost around 30€, you can always dodge the shipping It won't make you any richer, though... Number 35 in "Wicked Vision Collector's series" will be the 1964 horror classic "The Black Torment" directed by Robert Hartford-Davis, starring John Turner, Heather Sears and Ann Lynn; another British classic gothic horror movie in the style of a Hammer Horror production, but don't be fooled - it isn't! Cover A features the classic international movie poster, Cover B and C seem to be newly commissioned artworks. This Edition will again have both audio and subtitles with dual language (English and German), and it will have (according to the website) a booklet in both German and English language featuring an Essay by Dr. Rolf Giesen*. There will be two featurettes, one will be an interview with two of the actors (therefore English), the other features the famous German cinema scientist Dr. Marcus Stiglegger and will therefore be probably only in German (no info about subtitles). And there's a German audio commentary. And in good tradition, let's stop this post with the trailer: *) I am a bit puzzled that this German author is writing in English - if any of you English speaking people are interested in an assurance I can ask the guy behind Wicked-Vision for reassurance. Just contact me, then I'll ask him and post the answer here.
  9. Release : 31.03.2020 Link (Wicked Shop) : Cover A, Cover B, Cover C Price : €29,99 Limited : 333 for each cover Not sure if this is actually interesting to anyone here, as there is hardly any resonance to these posts, but hey: Here we go again, another friendly pre-order information for one of my most favorite German Mediabook labels: Number 34 of their "Wicked Vision Collector's series" will be the title the 1973 movie "Tales that Witness Madness" from horror veteran director Freddie Francis (most famous for his Amicus and Hammer Studios productions), staring Donald Pleasence (Halloween), Kim Novak (Vertigo) and Joan Collins (Dynasty; German Title "Der Denver-Clan"). It will come in three different artworks, The movie is historically interesting for the horror genre as it starred Donald Pleasence, who after this performance was cast for Halloween's famous Dr. Loomis, as well as Sam Raimi citing it to be the inspiration for his famous tree scene in "Evil Dead". It's a German premiere and will feature world-exclusive new bonus material commissioned by Wicked Vision. Audio and Subtitles will be in both English and German, the 24-page booklet will only feature German text, and as extras they list a German audio commentary, and two featurettes that will probably will be in English.
  10. コレクション アップデート: And I will do the rest in English, because I couldn't say everything in Japanese that I wanted to. Unfortunately I still have a lot to learn, and little time for it :( So this is the order I talked about in one of my last posts from Arrow video. I never owned anything from Arrow before, so it's a premiere. It's also a premiere that I payed full price for some Amaray-movies - I never buy Amarays if I can avoid it, and if I can't and I really want that movie for the collection (I am okey with streaming if the movie isn't released in Steelbook/Mediabook/Fullslip/Special Boxset); but Arrows is famous for doing excellent movie releases and they focus on movies that are hard to get anyways, plus even though it's an Amaray they do put effort in their designs. I got, as you can see (left to right, top to bottom - bottom first is just the O-Ring, bottom second the amaray that goes into the O-ring): オーディション (Single Disk) 仄暗い水の底から(Dual Disk Edition) 回路 (Dual Disk Edition) 着信アリ- Trilogy (O-Ring Edition) 海よりもまだ深く(Single Disk Edition) -- This is not part of the "Arrow Video"-Collection but of the "Arrow Academy"-Collection, which has a slightly different look, unfortunately) As you can see below, all of them come with reversible covers, and this is really a though choice, as I do like the exclusive alternative artwork they provide - but the backside has the original artwork with (in some cases) the Japanese title. So which side to choose? For now I just reversed the 着信アリ- Trilogy one, as otherwise the O-Ring and keep case would show the same artwork, as well as the 海よりもまだ深くone, because it had the original artwork on the front, and the alternative one on the back. My small points of critique: I didn't know that the "Arrow Academy"-series would look so different - I would have loved it, if they all looked the same. As the dual ones all come with a flap, I wonder why they didn't use a double sided flap and left the back side without a disk mount - that way the reversible artwork would look much better from the inside - pitty. I would have loved it, if they all came with O-Rings, or alternatively none. But half and half looks bad in the shelf. I wonder why they do it for only some editions? I also don't understand why some of them have a double disc version and others don't - the second disc is always the DVD. I love those as an bonus extra at minimal additional cost, unfortunately the double disc ones are much more pricey, than the single disc ones. Only the 着信アリ- Trilogy had a booklet; I think all editions should have a booklet. But other than that I am pretty happy with them. Bit pricey though (the three disc one was ~£30 pounds, the double discs ~£20, only the two single disc editions where ~£10), but I payed the price anyways as I love that they concentrate on films that you wouldn't get otherwise. 回路 and 仄暗い水の底から and 着信アリ is (according to blu-ray.com) only released by Arrow in UK, USA and CAN, オーディション has a German release, that is long OOP + in US a Shout Factory one, and 海よりもまだ深くhave a few releases (US, FRA, ITA, JPN and KOR).
  11. ブルーレイをわすれました。また、「カメラを止めるな!」は日本語のえいがです。 きょう、私ははじめてイングランドから「Arrow Video」の日本語のブルーレイのかいます。
  12. I wasn't addressed, but still: おれのドイツから日本語のがえいがのコレクションです。🙂 The Takeshi-Kitano Mediabooks all have a bonus Film in them as well, so it's actually also includes these movies as bonus disks: Takeshis' - included in ドールズ (Dolls) キッズ・リターン (Kids return) - included in はなび (Hana-bi) 龍三と七人の子分たち(Ruyuzo and his Seven Henchmen) - included in 菊次郎の夏 (Kikujiros Summer) あの夏、いちばん静かな海 (A Scene at the Sea) - included in アウトレイジ (Outrage) アキレスと亀 (Achilles and the Tortoise) - included in アウトレイジ ビヨンド (Beyond Outrage) みんな~やってるか (Getting any?) - included in アウトレイジ 最終章 (Outrage Coda)
  13. はじめまして、@taroさん。そしてありがとうございます。私は日本のBlu-rayがすきですが、日本のBlu-rayはたかいです。😪 At least, wenn you try getting them in Germany... すきなBlu-rayはなんですか。
  14. I love the artwork on the Arrow releases, but hesitated due to it only being Amarays. And then it was out of stock and prices went up. However, looking back I am quite happy I didn't get it, because the German set has all four movies (i.e. including らせん) which, the Arrow release apparently is missing?
  15. たぶん おもしろい。。。 German release of the four Japanese ring movies in one DigiPak set. No English subtitles though, but I feel like you all are 100 times better in Japanese than I am, so you'll probably don't need them anyways 😉 https://mediapsychos.com/topic/13061-the-ring-limited-legacy-collection-germany/
  16. Okey, so finally some information on the Amazon product side: Only the BD-Version will be in DigiPak, the DVD-Version will be a "fullslip" with Amarays A 12-paged booklet will be included in the DigiPak edition it's "strictly limited", however no information on the number of copies or if they'll be individually numbered (probably not) A lot of extras will be added (~ 75 Minutes), including interviews with the director, behind the scenes and deleted scenes, audio commentaries (no information about with whom or what languages), and the original soundtrack in Japanese in 6.1 DTS is listed as extra. it will be the "uncut cinema edits" FSK logo will be removable And regarding the disk specs they list: Language: Japanese (DTS-HD 6.1), German (DTS-HD 5.1) Subtitles: German Region: Region B/2 So this is unfortunately not English-friendly at all. A shame, as I've just realized that Arrow's release actually only includes Ring, Ring 2 and Ring 0, making this the world wide completest set available on Blu-ray, as it also has Ring Spiral.日本語がわかる人のみ, oder nur für die, die Deutsch verstehen...
  17. PS: Non-German/Non-Japanese speakers should probably wait until further specifications are out. I will try to update this as soon as possible. But pretty common for German releases this will probably only come in original soundtrack (i.e. Japanese) and German dubbing, and also the vast majority of German releases will unfortunately not feature English subtitles (which I think is a shame, given that they do not take up any space, they won't cost extra as they do already exist and do not need to be created and that adding them would make this release more accessible to people out there). Also I don't know why the links in the post are not transformed into the YouTube videos, as they used to. Sorry for that
  18. Release : 20.03.2020 Link: Amazon Price: €25,99 Limited: ??? Are you like me and missed out on the beautiful Arrow Collection collecting the classic Japanese "Ringu" Ring movies? Or maybe you didn't want to have Amarays even if they are from Arrow? I myself am pretty happy that today, by accident, I found this DigiPak release at Amazon - there are no information on extras, masters used, etc. but hopefully and probably this will be the same masters that where created some years ago by Arrow. It's toe only other collection of this movies, i.e. you can get most of them separately in most countries, but all together in one "premium" package - that was only available via Arrow video, till now. And for 25€ its by far cheaper than the original asking price from Arrow, and even more so if you try to get those by Arrow nowadays (at Amazon the third party asking price seems to be £100,-). Most people will probably know at least the story of these films: A videotape is going around and everybody who watches it, will die seven days later. To save her son a mother then tries to lift the secret surrounding this mysterious legend and break the curse. The original Japanese quadrillogy, that is based on the Japanese novel trilogy by Koji Suzuki, is rather famous with horror aficionados and friends of Japanese cinema alike. For a western audience there was a Hollywood remake by Gore Verbinski staring Naomi Watts, that was well received by the general audience but friends of the original movies and movie critics alike never cease to insist that the originals are far superior. Here are the HD trailers for the first two movies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4iODTbUn1A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97a7SK_c1vs
  19. So after doing the Filmarena 25 and the Black Barons 10, for this one I tried to go the extra mile - I've tried to choose Fullslips that I am certain I haven't yet used in any of my other Award post pictures I hope you'll enjoy: Again top to bottom, left to right: EverythingBlu BluPacks, BP 002: King Kong (XL-Fullslip, with WWA Steelbook, gloss varnish on Slip and LOADS of beautiful extras) EverythingBlu BluPacks, BP 001: Schindler's List (XL-Fullslip, with WWA Steelbook, gloss varnish and Gold foil printing on Slip and LOADS of beautiful extras) EverythingBlu BluPacks, BP 003: Casino (XL-Fullslip, with WWA Steelbook, gloss varnish on Slip and LOADS of beautiful extras) BluFans Exclusive, BE 25: Guardians of the Galaxy Single Lenticular "Rocket and Groot"-Edition <-- This was so hard to get, and I could fill an entire post on the trouble and grief I had with this one). 20. Much easier than the 29 FAC Editions I posted here, here's a part of my Black Barons collection (+ one that I posted by accident on the before linked 29 FACs posts). And again, this is - in it's entirety - all thanks to @forenhase, whom I cannot thank enough. I really love Filmarena, they do the best Fullslips, togehter with Blufans (okey, they have a pretty good contender with EverythingBlu, nowadays), and I am so happy to being able to get these! I really used to love the BB Editions - though they also are distributed by Filmarena, they did their own thing - if you take the first editions, with all the heavy usage of gloss varnish, really incredible. I'm a bit sad, that they now look exactly like Filmarenas - to the extend that I by accident pull out Braveheart and even don't recognize if it's a Filmarena or a Black Barons. But here you go, here's my list, top to bottom, left to right: BB #12: Vertigo <-- Loved that BB did some classics. Would appreciate it, if they would do some more Hitchcock movies! BB #1: The Terminator BB #15: I, Robot BB #14: Speed <--- Another Classic ❤️ BB #16: Fight Club <-- Whouldn't have needed this one, as I have this movie in different Fullslips already. But you know - compulsion to get them all... BB #10: The Birds <-- My most favorite Hitchcock movie, and I am so happy they did this. It's a beauty ❤️ BB #5: The Shallows <-- I loved the movie BB #4: Huntsman - The Winter's War <-- I am still waiting on Snow white and the huntsman. Hope they'll do that one as well BB #14: Split BB #9: American Made BB #18: Isle of Dogs What a great selection of movies they have! Love them! And for symmetry reasons, it's 11, not 10
  21. It's a lovley Saturday morning, sun is shining, birds are singing, me still in my pyjamas, and what do I do? Go to the PC, make a list of awards that I haven't gotten yet, go to my shelf, pull out all those beauties, order them on my sofa, don't use the same 25 FAC Fullslips for the general Fullslip award (no sir, I want to show you different stuff), make room on my sofa, order them neatly, make some photos, put them all back in (because it's a hand picked selection - my favorite 25+ out of 110 Filmarena editions, 95% of which I have to thank our lovely @forenhase for). So here you go - a few Overview-Shots, capturing most of my 211 Full-Slips (according to my list, I hope I never forgot any), sitting on 9 shelf boards, with more than half of it being Filmarena stuff. And then a few of my favorite titles, that I've hand-picked out for you, with no particular order: From top to bottom, left to right: FAC #65-67: Jurassic Park I - III BB #19: Braveheart <--- Jip. I Failed. Lucky me I had more -.- FAC #103: Prometheus 3D Relief Edition FAC #85: Alien Covenant 3D Relief Edition FAC #120 Alien 3D Relief Edition FAC #52: X-Men FAC #53: X2: X-Men United FAC #57: X-Men: First Class FAC #94: Murder on the Orient Express (sorry for the light reflection) FAC #80: Life FAC #49: Krampus FAC #22: Looper FAC #70: Black Hawk Down <--- SOOOOO Happy, that I could get this. FAC #74+#76: Bad Boys 1+2 <-- Hope they'll also do Bad Boys 3, soon FAC #55: X-Men: The Last Stand FAC #56: X-Men Origins: Wolverine FAC #59: X-Men: Days of future Past FAC #34: Sabotage FAC #25 Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation FAC #8: Hunger Games FAC #17: Chappie FAC #19: Fast 6 Furious 7 <-- The Paul Walker Edition ❤️ RiP FAC #3: Interview with the Vampire <-- This was my very first Filmarena Edition, and I paid soooo much. Cannot tell you how much I paid. but I love this movie, and up till this moment I didn't know anyone that would have wanted to sell any of those Filmarenas. I always applied for Still collectable, but no chance, so I just watched them release movies that I *really* wanted but couldn't get, and was really sad about it. FAC #7: Get on Up FAC #77: Logan <-- The last X-Men they did. I hope, they'll also do Dark Phoenix in a matching mannor. I really love those, and had to ask a lot and pay a lot to get them. FAC #58: The Wolverine FAC #47: X-Men: Apocalypse So if my counting is correctly, I just presented you 29 really beautiful FAC Editions. Hope you enjoyed
  22. Release : 14.02.2020 Link: Cover A, Cover B, Cover C Price: €29,99 Limited: 1500 / 1000 / 500 numbered copies (A, B and C) Don't know how to spend your Valentine's Day? How about by watching a nice slasher movie such as Candyman? Turbine Media is releasing this movie in three different cover artworks, which will have identical content. However, covers A and C feature new, exclusively commissioned drawings, while cover B has the famous German VHS cover artwork. Also Cover C is exclusive to Turbine Media only and cannot be bought in any other shop. It is the same new 4K master that has been used in USA and UK and that was created by Scream Factory. However, it's the first time that this version is released in Germany. For the VHS there only existed a FSK-16 cut version as well as an R-Rated version. The R-Rated version was later also released to DVD and in 2016 there was the Blu-ray Mediabook with the typical international movie poster (the bee in the eye) that also only featured the R-Rated cut. The Unrated version has more or less the same length, but features some scenes in different takes or other angles to hide some more gruesome bloody images. Turbines release brings the original Unrated cut back to Germany. This edition will also feature three audio commentaries (the same that where released with the Scream Factory release), a couple of interviews with cast and crew and a booklet, that is - unfortunately for all you international readers - only in German language. In Germany, Turbine is pretty famous for it's battles against our BPjM - a federal agency that will censor or confiscate movies in Germany if they are deemed to violent. As the social standards are not the same as they used to be in the 80s or earlier, Turbine uses legal ways to force re-evaluation of such movies (including titles like the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Last House on the Left, Mark of the Devil, or Crying Freeman that Turbine already managed to get re-evaluated and released in Germany). With all their titles they strive to be the first to release them in Germany (on Blu-ray) all together or at least in the longest/uncut version, and often they are also the first to do so, worldwide. Candyman is an American horror movie by Bernard Rose that is based on the short story by Clive Barker (Hellraiser), telling the urban legend of Candyman, the son of an African slave, who loved and impregnated a white girl, and was therefore killed gruesomely by the father of that girl. Urban legend has it, that his ghost lived on and can be summoned by saying his name five times in a mirror. Here's the trailer:
  23. Release : 09.04.2020 Link: BD/DVD-Combo - modern, BD/DVD-Combo - classic, UHD/BD-Combo - modern Price: €29,99 or €39,99 Limited: ? / 555 numbered copies for the classic cover The infamous Turbine Media is releasing yet another world premiere on BD and UHD with David Cronenbergs 1996 movie "Crash". The release will have two different cover variants, one they named modern (in some shops called "Cover A"), showing the legs of the protagonist and a Highway between them; this is a newly commissioned drawing (inspired by one of the movie posters). The other named classic (and in some shops "Cover B") shows one of the movie poster motives; the later will be limited to 500 individually numbered copies, the former has no information on limitation. However, the modern cover will also come in two configurations, either BD and DVD (as same as the classic cover) or BD and UHD. The movie was never before released on HD, and Turbine did a 4k sampling from the original negatives together with David Cronenberg and DoP Peter Suschitzky. Also, it features the US NC-17 version, instead of the R-Rated cut version, which was formally indexed as media harmful to minors, with the possibility of confiscation. The movie will come with a lot of bonus material, some of which are done exclusively for this release, as well as a 40-paged booklet which unfortunately will be only featuring German language. Crash (1996) is a Cronenberg movie based on a novel by James Graham, portraying a group of people who take sexual pleasures from car accidents. It was produced in the UK and started a controversy. It also won the "Special Jury Prize" at the Cannes Film Festival, and was a such a controversial choice that some jury members abstained very passionately. The award has never been awarded since. The US NC-17 version is not featuring more violence but rather more graphical sex scenes. Here's a trailer:
  24. Release : 16.04.2020 Link: * Price: €29,99 Limited: 333 numbered copies After having 3 releases (Fido, Wolfcop and Eerie Indiana) in January 2018, it got really silent around this series - people where waiting for "The Voices" without any further information, and so everybody assumed, that this collection was cancelled, but beginning of Febuary 2020 three new movies have been announced, with the third of this wave being "Grabbers". There is no information about the content (which for the first three consisted of a lot of extras - see below) and it isn't even yet listed on the official website, but announced via Facebook and orderable on at least one shop (see link). This is one of the few releases by Neon Zomibe that is not a Birnenblatt re-release, but actually has never been released in Germany in a premium edition (however there is a keep case version). Officially the "Neon Zombie Magazin" is just that: a German magazine founded by Markus Haage that started as a webzine in 1999 as "Trashzombies" then was renamed to "Video Raiders" and then after producing their first real print magazine they rebranded to "Neon Zombie Magazin" in 2013. Since today they managed to produce 22 issues that deal with horror movies, and as this magazine is pretty popular, the magazine soon got requested as bonus for mediabooks and other editions. In 2018 they finally realized another big dream of Markus Haage - their first own releases: "Unglaublich Phantastische Film!" - a mediabook series in a special exclusive artwork that is inspired by the 1950s "Tales from the Crypt" comics, collecting fantasy films, B-movies, trash movies and genre cinema movies, together with a a number of goodies: A Din A4 foldout poster with the exclusive cover artwork and their logo on the flipside, a sticker with the label logo, three lobby cards, a postcard with the original movie poster and facts, cast, and plot on the backside, a trading card sized card with the number of the series, and two min "action stickers" with a series number. A great series with the largest point to criticize is that most of their releases are re-releases of titles that their partner label Birnenblatt already released a while ago. Grabbers (2012) is a British-irish comedic monster movie written by Kevin Lehane (debut) and directed by the unknown Jon Wright starring by Richard Coyle, Ruth Bradley, Bronagh Gallagher and Russell Tovey telling the story of an remote Irish island where all of the sudden mutilated corpses are discovered that seem to be attacked by some mysterious tentacled sea monsters. Here's the trailer: *) Disclaimer: I like to link the original shop or non at all, as I don't want to make free advertisement for any shop, but till today no other shop has listed this yet, so not sure, if this is maybe even retailer exclusive.
