I haven’t seen this since the 90s, one of the greats.  You’ve made me want to watch it again, but it looks like it’s not available at all digitally, which is a shame.

Yeah, it's a brave brave topic to tackle, cinematically.  My acting teacher in New York got a callback for that part and said she wouldn't do it because of the way it may influence her kids.  To be honest, I think it's a miracle DO Russell pulled it off, a fine line to walk to make that believable from a narrative standpoint AND sympathetic from a character standpoint.  Handled well.   90s middle class Shakespeare.
