I've been watching some tutorials on YouTube that teach the basics of German, especially when it comes to greetings, etc.

One of these videos had an interviewer asking people on the street to pronounce certain words in English and there seems to be a stereotype that Germans have trouble pronouncing the word 'squirrel' (not sure how true it is) which I found interesting. xD

I think many Germans have trouble pronouncing a lot of english words, but mostly because they don't speak english, so sometimes they never have heard a certain word before, since we have completely different once.

Even I'm still sometimes surprised how a word is pronounced in a movie because I imagined it differently.

That said, it is so crazy that even in english speaking countries like USA, UK and Australia you get such different typs of english. But also no surprise. In Germany it is for someone from the north (like myself) hard to understand the German from the people from other regions like Bayern 😂.

True, though I should clarify that I didn't mean to offend in any way. I just found the notion of it curious/interesting.

And plus, I don't know how a lot of native English speakers would fare trying to pronounce 'Eichhörnchen' either. xD

I've seen many non-native speakers who have an excellent command of the English language.
