I'm happy to see that this is getting a steel. The film definitely has its problems, but the bones are there.

 

Probably slim to none chance of continuing the series based on it's pitiful earnings and bad press, but I wouldn't mind if someone came along to try and recover it.

I don't know that I would call it "good", it has a decent amount of plot holes. The story was intriguing and there was enough to keep me engaged throughout the film. Like you said, Tom Holland, Daisy Ridley, and Mads Mikkelsen probably could do that for me regardless of the story.

 

The film had no shot, really. It was filmed 4 years ago, went through extensive reshoots, and was deemed "un-releasable" last year.  Honestly, I went in with such low expectations that it needed to be epically bad for me to be disappointed. I don't recall it pushing a "woke" agenda and I'm usually pretty sensitive to that stuff.
