Hi All! Introducing myself here, about 8 years too late it seems.

 

Huge movie fan growing up, small city in California, not many other movie friends so got into film criticism and worked as a critic, covered fests, for a little bit -- you may have read some of my work! Had a huge collection of physical media growing up. I used to play video games competitively and all of my winnings would go into movies. Haven't collected as much since -- mostly because there's no space in my apartment for anything more, but do want to see physical media done correctly/ play a bigger role in the future of the film industry! 

 

Just wrapped up a Film Studies degree at NYU, simultaneously earned the credits for a MA in preservation and cinema studies; spent all 4 years working at an archive restoring VHS and 16mm! 

 

First love was French movies! Username is my favorite director, picture is from La Chinoise. Lately, I've mostly been watching HK action, VOD MMA, low budget genre stuff lately for the escapism HAHA. The job hunt has not been kind to me!

 

Stumbled onto this site while researching some info for a distribution company I plan on starting soon  Going to be using my network of archivists and critics to pick up great movies that have been stuck in Limbo and try and embody the value of media literacy for my generation and the next! Funding is secure, now just tracking down the rights and planning special features! Hoping for the most part that you guys rub off on me a little bit! Still in the works now, but excited to be able to talk about some of this in the future!

Yeah, I hear you, I’m a collector too that started w/Best Buy/Target exclusives that really got me into the Premium editions (I started way back though  & gradually upgraded from VHS to DVD to BD to 4K oh my 🤣). then I was fortunate to find out about this terrific forum MP from another forum I followed & MP took over my #1 place since March ‘19 hey 👋 

 

 

I’m who is referred to as the “consigliere” on MP and the Ol’ American guy 😆 (Ol’ Veum is me) because I do enjoy communicating with all the peeps!😊
