Hello, fellow psychos!

Hi everybody,

I am from Salzburg, Austria and have been collecting movies since the tender age of 16, starting off with VHS (yes, I am that old!🤫) and going through all the

formats (still have over 100 LaserDiscs) over the course of the years, buying the same movies over and over again, marvelling at the improved image and sound qualities of my favorite pictures.

Until fairly recently, I would have described myself as a movie collector. I never put the focus on collecting specific labels, instead I gathered a wide array of international movies

from all countries and of all ages. So you will find pretty much anything in my collection: from Carl Theodor Dreyers Passion of Joan Arc to Ichi The Killer.

Consequently, I have a lot of Criterion, Masters of Cinema and Eureka Editions.

However, that pattern changed when I stumbled over the first Black Barons and Filmarena Editions. I was hooked in no time and spend a small fortune on adding previous editions to my collection.

Obviously, the fever got me and I am looking forward on spending a lot of time (and problably money, I fear) in this forum.

Glad to be here and hopefully getting to know a lot of you guys.

Yeah, I hear you, I’m a collector too that started w/Best Buy/Target exclusives that really got me into the Premium editions (I started way back though  & gradually upgraded from VHS to DVD to BD to 4K oh my 🤣). then I was fortunate to find out about this terrific forum MP from another forum I followed & MP took over my #1 place since March ‘19 hey 👋 

 

 

I’m who is referred to as the “consigliere” on MP and the Ol’ American guy 😆 (Ol’ Veum is me) because I do enjoy communicating with all the peeps!😊

 

  

 

Hold fast to your wallet as your money will be spent quite a lot lol!😜

 

 

If you ever need any help just tag a Head Psycho, Staff or one of us Guardians like this @Veum (make sure you use the @ plus the members name you want and make sure you use the @ w/the BLUE as it gets our attention!). 😁

I feel I will have to take a crash course in resisting temptation though, after buying

2 editions from members in two days. If I do the math on that i wont end well, cause then I´ll soon be...  

needing new shelves😁😁

But hey, like Jürgen Klopp said when coming to Liverpool: I´m the normal guy.

Hi Rüdiger,

 

just took a look at your photos from your collection. I´m not only impressed, I´m floored. Not only by the sheer numbers but by the beautiful presentation.

And: we might not be normal to the outside world, however, here, we are just some guys indulging in a nice hobby🙂
