Picked up midway too @Basil I hope it's decent. I spoke about being unsure an 'action war' film only being a 12. Not that I want blood and guts everywhere but I hope it's not just constant CGI planes the whole time lol.

well going in blind on this is a reboot of orginal film but from what i have read around its supposed to be quite good and there are some reasonable actors in it not all nobodys so ill have a punt on this.

but you never can tell, just keep my fingers crossed

3 weeks time to order a keyboard remind me never to shop there.

  4. @Hollywood E Rock people saying about changing to robots over people is soo true on many fronts.

my last job i left because of bad hours and made a personal lifestyle choice in the end. was basically production robotics engineer. i was employed for overseeing the machines running much as possible and all maintenance, programming up etc. but i came back from holiday from florida in the summer during a heatwave here we had 30c odd and had to go back to work on a friday saturday and sunday night shifts and thought to myself what the hell was i doing, said same to my wife and she burst into tears about it all and she had never got upset with and shift work i had done before. 8 years on straight nights in past.

anyway this shift pattern had got to her 7 day continental. so at that moment i knew i had to change jobs. which i did for her no questions whatsoever.

so i started looking had a new job lined up within 2 weeks lucky for me i was still within my probation period just and on 1 weeks notice which was about to change up to 1 months notice. just because big company had got me thru a specialist agency 6 months and then there own 6 month company period of probation. anyway i moved more or less within 2 week of coming back. they where also surprised that i had a job to goto so quickly. so someone was looking down on me straight into a straight days job with a half day friday.

my wife said i was soo jammy for the half day friday, i just said it was just luck.

lucky for me my engineering skill is high enough that i was in demand.

but as they say things are meant to happen for reasons, whatever that may be. but training is key all your working life. has helped improve my job after job.

and i count my blessings for that.

but family is always first, work has to fit around me abit now. cost me a little bit too money wise but not too much a drift.

and god do i feel better for it.

so edward my one free piece of advice train as much as you can it will help you in ways you can't fully appreciate yet and climb up that tree. i do suspect you will end up head and shoulders above others if you keep going the way you are currently, from my own point view.

you sound like you care about your job which is always 90% of the battle. the other 10% is improving yourself along the way.

and as you say lazy idiots around you that dont care make you stand out in the end by there own laziness in the end.

it worked for me along the way.

my only slight issue i have now and again is they occasionally send me up london to sort issues out are field engineers can't but that is very now and again.

but i dont mind that gets me out the workshop now and again. but i try help out when needed. keeps me in with the big boss which is where it really counts:D

    all the best

    @Basil

I guess it's a bit too late now for not panicking. Here they already emptied most of the pharmacies and even my wife did some shopping.

Starting tomorrow she will work from home as she just received a message from her boss, saying her husband is infected.

We are not the type to panic but we now need to be watchful for any suspicious symptom.

On a side note, I stockpile toilet paper regardless of epidemics or natural disasters. You can't have too much of it (also needs to be a specific brand :D)

regards stockpiling i have a spare room full of stuff but thats when its all on offer saving me money. my wife calls me arkwright from open all hours bbc comedy of a tight shopkeeper.

and all specific brands has to be and at right price as well.

but never run out of stuff, but only get a load when the offer come round or bit pointless otherwise.

can see where this all go supermarkets will be done over next few weeks and then certain things supermarkets wont sell for months to come as the stockpiling people run down off there stocks but really is stupidity.

all i might add by the news tv people reporting out of some of these supermarkets. they interviewed one granny emptying nappies and baby stuff. asking her why she was doing it. she was saying "my grandson is not going to run out of his favourite nappies and baby stuff. i heard on the news all panic buying and i thought id better make sure he is covered as well just in case"

its all quite laughable, its like people think the end of the world is coming. its a virus where we need avoid large amounts of people and wash our hands more.

and people are all running round the supermarkets in bigger than normal numbers, going directly against that advice.

i went round there as needed some stuff for the freezer running onto last bag of a few bits.

people really need to get bit more of a grip on life, hopefully won't need to go near supermarket for a bit now.

first thing i did do thought was clean trolley handle and wash my hands soon as got back that stuff is more important, that reduces risk as well.

alot weren't even wiping down trolley handles yum yum.

also eli working from home is a good thing if you can do it, my cousin lives in singapore and they all work from home out there atm but the kids are going to school as normal.

reducing risk is really the best thing we can all do.

unfortunately for me i work in an air con workshop. the only up side is 2 others in that workshop. but i clean down air con units first as i go first now and not last, that is only thing other than washing hands more that has changed for me.

    but all easy solutions.

i hope you wifes bosses husband gets better soon, but seems good common sense is being applied.

    all the best

Good morning everyone. Enjoy your Sunday... who knows, it may be your last 😅dad be safe GIF

don't eli the stupidity level has now hit british supermarkets fully went round earlier to do a few bits of shopping.

and yes the british masses are now panic buying ripping the shelves clean because of our friend Coronavirus.

top of the list for some very strange reason is toilet paper. with hand cleansers and gels next and baby stuff after that.

the shelves are getting emptied fast as lorries coming in xD

its all over the news here last few days, even the pharmacy is effected had to buy last box of 96 ibuprofen asda brand as thats all they had left. they said been going silly.

since the medias put it all on the news. telling people not to panic buy.

worse thing they could have done.

i feel sorry for the staff in these shops

anyway hope theres no panic buying in other countries but i suspect there will
