I see how this plan will end. I'm sorry my friend. But don't worry, the MP search team will come and rescue you both. And then when we return, we will launch the first completely ball shaped full slip in a brand new premium line called . . . Wilson.
The only real question is which one is @Casiusco and which one is @Fortis93

Thank you so much @ZACKZZD - It's a special thing to have a representative of the retailer participate in a discussion about their releases and we very much appreciate it. I am confident such dialogue will lead to even greater things.
I would love to add a few points from my perspective.
1 - I think it would be a great idea to be open to constructive criticism from any member - not just those who have purchased the editions like me. There are some members who love the titles you have selected but not all of the artwork. Of course you can never satisfy everyone, but our members are seasoned collectors of premium editions and are all your potential customers so I would think all of their view points would be valuable as well.
2 - Perhaps it is a translation issue, but all opinions are by definition subjective rather than objective. I can only tell you what I subjectively think and feel and try to avoid making assumptions about what others feel or think. Instead I listen to what they do and say. If you avoid any opinion that isn't objective, you are avoiding all opinions. Again this is probably a translation issue.
3 - All of our opinions as customers will also by definition be based only on 'partial understanding of CE'. We don't work for CE and CE doesn't - nor should they - share all of the specific decisions and issues they face when creating their releases. This gap should not prevent members from giving their constructive feedback or opinions on releases. If we are lacking information essential to sharing our opinions I'm sure our members would all welcome learning this information.
4- As a regular customer of CE products, I can say you are correct that CE's efforts on the quality of the releases is second to none. These are extremely high quality releases and CE deserves a tremendous amount of credit for that. Of course, it is a truism in social media - even on MP - that people are more likely to share when they have a problem than when they have something positive to say. I'm sorry if that comes across as unfair or too negative, but it is an unfortunate reality of this form of communication and shouldn't prevent this dialogue from going forward.
Thank you and the entire CE team again for all you do to bring these high quality releases to us. I look forward to the future.
GaryWell said @Gary K. And thanks for clearing up who is who in this conversation. Sometimes it's a bit unclear where MP stops and some of these retailers begin, how they are connected.

Yeah, must buy. And I do have a functional early 80s boombox for that cassette soundtrack.

And speaking of NY.
I finally got around to watching Manhattan a couple of days ago.
That's probably the coolest I've ever seen New York look in movies.
For some reason the Kimmel wouldn't load. I think I've seen that before. It is hilarious.
Yeah, that movie looks great. A love letter to the city according to Allen. You have a good eye, that's Kodak 5222 BW. Amazing if well lit. Also used for the BW sequences of Momento. And I believe used as the base for the new large format (IMAX) BW stock that was created for Nolan to shoot the BW scenes in Oppenheimer IIRC.
Manhattan the movie? . . . maybe that's a convo for a DM. 🤔- 6

Is that The Love Guru?
Honestly, mate, I haven't seen it yet. 😅
But, it's on my watch list.
It's worth it just for Justin Timberlake. Wasn't a music fan of his, but any super star that can make a fool of himself and completely own it, I'm a fan of theirs. Hilarious.

Interesting. I know he's from the midwest, so I hear @Veum as the dad from A Christmas Story.
Everyone else on MP I hear with Morgan Freeman's voice.
@Fortis93 do you like that movie? I know people hate it and it's not a very sensitive-to-other-cultures movie, which I am about, but I laugh my a$$ off at this movie.

Did everyone notice that Group Buys are no longer called Our Addiction in the menu bar, and they are now called . . . . .
GROUP BUYS!
End of an era, but probably a smart move for the new people to know where to click.

@BreakBeatDJ He did this interview last year where goes through his own movies and movies that inspired him.
It's a neat watch.
The voiceover is in French, but his interview is in English.
I just finished watching this. Interesting dude. I appreciate his honesty about what he was doing, and the reality of what his movies were. But, @Fortis93, why didn't he go independent? I mean, he loved the indy new wave directors, he was familiar with the concept, it seems like it would have occurred to him to do that. Any ideas? Was he addicted to stars and all the big toys only Hollywood could provide him? Was it personal? Did he have some kind of an existential crisis after Rollerball (beyond the legal issues). That is a remarkable string of hits he created, seems like someone would have given him a chance outside of the system. But, I'm not as familiar with him as you are.

It's A or nothing for me. I'm not buying A if I also have to buy B. Please make that an option.
Could this be an opportunity for the CE team to see, given the choice, how many would choose their illustrator's work vs the other option? I believe this is the first multi-slip release with an option other than the CE illustrator’s work, and think the results would be revealing.- 3

Are the slips going to be the normal CE size? If yes, that would make the acrylic case slightly bigger than two normal CE slips together?

Now I don't know about that for Leon. At least for me, that's not a great FS. The DL for that release was great though
I read your post, and was like, this dude is crazy . . . then I went and looked and you're right. The FS for Leon is forgettable, it's the SL with that amazing Kodachrome look that I like so much. Anyway, we agree on Godzilla.

I would love to see McTiernan behind the director's chair again, but I can understand why studios wouldn't want to touch him given his criminal history.
Wow, I didn't know that. Just read that story. What a bizarre thing to do, or probably more on point . . . what an inept thing to get caught doing in Hollywood. It's a shame, it would have been interesting to see how he would have evolved. I've never seen Medicine Man, is that worth a watch?
