I would love to see McTiernan behind the director's chair again, but I can understand why studios wouldn't want to touch him given his criminal history.
Wow, I didn't know that. Just read that story. What a bizarre thing to do, or probably more on point . . . what an inept thing to get caught doing in Hollywood. It's a shame, it would have been interesting to see how he would have evolved. I've never seen Medicine Man, is that worth a watch?

We binged it. If you're looking for a good show, you can pass on it. If you like Cary Grant, but don't know much about his life, and are curious, but don't want to read a biography, it's enjoyable. If you really really dig those Hollywood look-a-likes from your last corporate sales seminar in Vegas, you'll really love it.

No no, this is actually very clever. It’s the shark digestive track version. Although, this shark doesn’t appear to have the enzymes to actually digest human legs. Entertaining, and a health message . . . remember your probiotics.- 6

The algorithm has been throwing this series up, so I ordered this one to see what they’re like. I buy multi-retailer UCEs pretty regularly and like a lot of them. Curious to see how they generally compare with this series. (for a non-steel book edition)

Well, four and a half years later, looks like it's coming. On my excel spreadsheet that I use to track my GBs, this edition was third from the bottom (last), of editions I wondered if/when I would actually get. Very very cool, excited to actually have it. Thanks MP.

but man, seeing all the pictures of The Punisher comics I had worked so hard on putting together entire runs of as a teenager freaking hurt.
Wow, that literally hurt to read that. I sure hope you can find replacements, but there's nothing like the one's you held in your Cheeto's stained hands as a kid, right?
A not quite similar story for me, but with a happy ending . . . I'm also an avid Stamp collector (no, I'm not old 😆), my dad got me started when I was 5. My first real album was a Scott Liberty in two volumes. My sister used to go in to it and get mint stamps to send her postcards, etc. Bummed me out. So, when I was about 13 and had a pretty awesome/valuable collection, I went in the basement and hid it in the drop ceiling. I climbed up on a chair, and lifted a panel, then pushed both volumes to one side to hide it from my sister.Well, football season started, then school started, then I met a girl, and before you knew it I forgot where I put it. Then, one day, my dad comes home and says we're moving (it was a rental so it happened quickly). I tried to find it, but couldn't, I swear I looked everywhere, and no dice . . . and then we moved. I was pissed off.
Years later, like when I'm 35, my mom and I were driving by our old house (we'd moved to Florida) and I said, let's stop in, I want to see if they found my stamp collection. The people were really cool about it, I told them the story, they laughed. I went in to the basement, and the friggin first panel I lifted up, in the back corner by a non-structural wall, I saw the edge of the blue spine of the album. When I pushed to the side when I was 13, it had slid down a bit on the other side of the non-structural wall, so I couldn't see it when I was much shorter.
I couldn't believe it. Just crazy, 20 years later to have that back.
So, long story to say, I'm sorry you won't get your comics back @MikeH5856 my man. Although replacing them will be fun too, you get to relive buying them again.

Bummer! How did you make out with your other albums?
I got the two I wanted, which at this point in my waaaaaay too big of a record collection, is enough. My Everybody Digs Bill Evans mono re-issue is pretty much a gem, but suffers from a little piano warble (I believe it's from 70 year old tapes stretching), but I've listened to it 4 times in the last three days. Also, Jazz Dispensary is the only compilation series I collect. Every year, it does not disappoint.
I couldn't help @nathan_s82 or my cousin, or another bud, that I was trying to find stuff for, but it was fun scrambling around trying to find stuff.- 3

Sunday was all about Volunteer work, making breakfast for over 600 people at our local church.
Uh . . . It think you're the good dude @nathan_s82!
It was fun texting across country hunting for records on record store day. Such a great vibe everywhere. I stood by a guy who came to visit from Michigan, ended up chatting for an hour about music. @nathan_s82 what is your experience when trying to talk about premium movie editions with the vinyl crowd. Year after year on RSD I try to find someone, and they are oblivious, and have never heard of FAC, HDZ, even steelbooks. I try to educate, but no one seems interested.- 1

Yeah, that was a tough one. My local (7th in line) didn't even get one. Then the other two stores in town, no dice.

Original Enterprise model found in storage unit after 45 years missing. Dude put it on eBay for $1,000 and then got asked a bunch of questions so he took it down, got it authenticated, and it went back to Eugene Roddenberry Jr for restoration. No one knows how it ended up in the storage unit. You may have already seen this. But wouldn’t it be cool to add that to your collection?

Hey, @BreakBeatDJ
I have an industry related question for you.
I've been reading about Coppola struggling to get the $100 million marketing budget he wants for "Megalopolis".
Do you think a streaming service such as Apple will step in to foot the bill, or do you think he'll have to reach some compromise with a smaller distributor like Neon or A24?
@Fortis93 sorry I missed this bud. Was going through notifications and just saw it.
My connections are on the creative/production side and not on the studio side but I certainly can give you my thoughts.
There's something odd going on here, imo. First off, it's actually $140 mil world wide, and that is probably a realistic P&A number for this type of film these days, and not as excessive as some would say. I'm sure there are loads of quick turnaround backend bonus's for talent: that self-funded $120 mil production budget is prob closer to $150 when all the points are paid, so that makes the $140 he's asking for even less shocking.
I'm starting to think that this whole thing is part of the marketing of the film. Poor Francis, can't find a home for his last movie, it's so convoluted, but brilliant, daring, but can't be positioned in the market, it's "batshit". This is marketing gold, and look how much HR, Variety, social, etc, are talking about this film. I wouldn't be surprised if he has a handshake deal already, and this is typical Hollywood shenanigans to create buzz at Cannes, and that was the "plan" all along. Too conspiratorial?
Certainly Neon would be willing to do it, but they and A24 probably don't have the money to push this film out, and it isn't on brand for A24, really. Searchlight or Focus would be a good guess, but Focus is signaling they're out, I've read. Apple? I just can't imagine Coppola would settle for streaming only, he is part of the fabric of cinema, and he wants this thing in the theaters, and while he's not looking for an IMAX deal, he evidently had some IMAX tech consulting on production so it could be shown in IMAX. Even if he has to pay the P&A himself, and put the studio in first position to recoup distribution, I think he'd do that before streaming only (but I really don't know). Would he sell it? Yikes, it's hard to believe he'd give up any control, and this is most likely what he'd have to do for a buy out.
Or the movie could just suck and no one wants it. But, it sure is getting a lot of "free" buzz, aye?

Audio-Technica AT-LP60X. Snob away and judge me! (But to my ears, and as a vinyl no-nothing newbie, it works pretty well hooked up to my receiver and was decently priced.)
While my comment was in jest, it is absolutely true that the vinyl/audiophile world is toxic. Not joking, MP, and even the steel discord, reddit, etc, are so much more fun to be a part of than the online vinyl/audiophile world. Just brutal elitism and one-upping all the time. The sharing and community that goes on here is virtually non-existent in that world.
Your system is great! I'm sure it sounds fantastic. I've never stopped with vinyl since I was 15 and worked in a record store, then went on to a mini-career in DJing (duh, BreakBeatDJ), so if you have any questions, feel free to ask. I love chatting about it audiophilia (with no judgement of course).Good luck with your RSD hunting! My local hides what I want for me, I know . . . unfair, but I spend a lotta money there.

What are your weekend plans? Tomorrow is jam-packed with Record Store Day and a Comic Convention.
Yep, there are actually some things I want this year!! Last few years have been thin. And with the higher pressing numbers, you can get online the day after without waiting in line. This year, have to grab the Craft Recordings mono release of Bill Evans, Everybody Digs Bill Evans and the Jazz Dispensary title. Will be at my local at 8 AM for a hang with other vinyl nerds until they open at 9.
What you getting Nate? Anything specific?- 4

But the steels will also have the titles on their spines, you can see that in the BS.
White title on black spine with only the studio logo at the bottom… simple and clean.
Which is why the PET slips are going directly into the trash can as soon as I get my Goodfellas and Jaws copies.
Oh YEAH!!! I didn't look closely enough and thought there was a box like the large versions. Thanks Eli. That is def better.

*sigh* PET slips.... why, just why?
Still needs 1917 though!I'm okay with the PET slips, but the ratings logos . . . ugh. I'm sure they were never going to do a re-design from the original releases, but I wish they would have, and put the titles on the spine instead of the slips (so you could at least have them on the shelf with no ratings logos). I'd like them more (I've complained about this before, I know, and prob will again. ).
EDIT: As @R1s1ngs0n points out below, the above is wrong, the steels do have the title on the spine.

I read your post, and was like, this dude is crazy . . . then I went and looked and you're right. The FS for Leon is forgettable, it's the SL with that amazing Kodachrome look that I like so much. Anyway, we agree on Godzilla.
