    LEAVE IT ALONE

The Animated are the best version you are ever going to get .

    My lowly opinion above

It's definitely a valid opinion! There's just a certain charm that you get from animated films that you can't replicate 100% with live action versions. I think the only one I'm really looking forward to would be Lion King, which looks really well done but we'll see how that goes lol.

  2. I have a somewhat modest collection of vinyls. I do prioritize my collecting of steelbooks and movie products over it but every once in a while I'll come across a vinyl release that I just can't resist.

You can see a picture of a couple of my pieces in the image below as well as one of my all time favorite pieces...The Hero of Time 2xLP which encompasses music from the Ocarina of Time soundtrack. The recording was done by 64-piece Slovak National Symphony Orchestra (recorded live at Studio 1 in Bratislava, Slovakia). Very well done and sounds amazing! Those of you familiar withe Legend of Zelda franchise will know about the "heart container" pieces you collect in the game. Well if you look at the last two images with the vinyl themselves, you can see in the center that that is how you tell which side you are on...Side 1 has 1 heart piece, side 2 has 2 heart pieces, etc. 👍

For those curious where the Hero of Time vinyl is from, it's from a website called iam8bit. Would definitely recommend checking them out if you are a fan of video game soundtracks. They make some awesome looking vinyl releases for video games. They also sell a bunch of other video game related products.

where to start at the beginning I guess and that is what the this movie does .

Almost impossible to fit the entire story of the group Queen into a few hours .

This does just that and does it extremely well .

Light and dark,  love and tears

    Friends till the end .

The Live Aid Wembley Stadium recreation like everything else magnificent

@Scary Hair you forgot the rating on this one! 😛

    Captain Marvel - 7.5/10

So this one was tough to rate. I didn't actually see it in theaters because I wouldn't really consider myself a Captain Marvel fan so I waited until it was released and grabbed the steelbook at Best Buy. While the story was pretty predictable, I have to say it was still a really well done film. Very entertaining and it's always awesome to see more female super heroes in the spot light. In terms of that, I have to say I still give Wonder Woman the edge as my favorite female super hero movie. 👍

One of the fortunate things of having a region-free Blu player is of course, being able to track down deals offered by other companies outside North America.

The Blue Exorcist editions are a good example. Anniplex direct editions for sale via RightStuf, Tokyo Otaku Mode or Amazon, are exorbitantly priced in my mind and the English Manga titles, that bear the "Anniplex" moniker on their products, are of equivalent quality but usually far cheaper.

I've had a region free player for many years now (2 players actually) and never regretted the purchase price for in the long run, I've managed to both save money and also (more importantly) been able to purchase titles that just are not available in NA.

    Winning!

p.s. Blue Exorcist is Highly Recommended, excellent show!

Yeah I've always thought about grabbing a region free player...Maybe some day.

Planning on starting Blue Exorcist today! Was looking around at some physical editions of the show and it seems pretty pricey for a 25 episode anime...Like this one for example: Link

I mean, $140 for 25 episodes?  😅 I'll be watching the show on Crunchyroll thankfully so no need to purchase that, but usually I do like to purchase physical media for shows I really enjoy...So part of me is hoping I don't enjoy it TOO much if you get what I mean haha. 😂

Hey Guys! I appreciate the warm welcome! I stumbled upon this forum looking for some blu-ray releases for a particular movie. I am a mainly a music memorabilia collector, but am now expanding to movies. eBay has been my main source for purchasing limited releases, but it looks like I am missing out on a brand new concept that I just discovered, which is group buys! The idea is still fairly new. I would appreciate any guide or assistance on how I can properly participate on it.

As I'm fairly new to movie collecting, I am still trying to grasp the idea of different releases, under the section Steelbook groupbuys, it looks like there's BB, bluecats, bluefans, etc. Are those the different retailers? Is that the main list of possible editions/releases for a movie?

As I continue to follow more releases for the steelbooks, I am very much excited to participate in this forum and meet new people! Thanks again everyone!

    All very good questions @Mark!!

So first off, in regards to group buys, I would very much recommend reading the tutorial and rule posts at the following link: HERE

That will get you off to a good start. If you're more of a visual learner, like myself, then I would highly recommend @romeroland's video guide that I'll link below.

To answer your question regarding Blufans, bluecats, etc....Those are all companies essentially that release premium movie editions that we collect here. You mentioned that you really only used eBay previously for purchasing limited releases, but you were most likely paying a hefty price over retail for those as a lot of scalpers (though some sellers are legitimate and are selling the product for what its going for in the third party market which is fine obviously) will purchase multiple copies and sell at an increased price on there. Where as joining a group buy like you will find on this site will allow you to obtain premium releases at retail price (or sometimes only a little above depending on fees, shipping costs, or if you want extra insurance etc. Even with those though you usually will end up paying much less than you would on eBay.

Not all of those companies will release EVERY movie as a premium edition. Some release older movies, some have pre-orders out for movies that are still in theaters and haven't been released yet, some do both. It's best to just browse through each companies group buy section and see what they have available. I would just say to be careful and only join Group Buy's that you are SURE you want to own and participate in. Backing out of a Group Buy after signing up for it is highly frowned upon due to the amount of work that goes into putting them together behind the scenes. New members are required to purchase a deposit which won't be refunded if the GB is backed out of, but will be refunded after the group buy is completed. There is more information on that in the rules and tutorials I linked above though which I recommend reading through thoroughly.

Let us know if you have any further questions and I or any other member of the forum will be happy to answer!

Sure you don't want a Zelda Sig?! Look back through this thread at the amount of BR49 sigs I've made...🤪

    @goose_3387

Oh jeez... I guess it would be a pretty popular request lol. I forgot about the quote I already had in my signature which I've had down there since I joined so I thought going with a BR2049 sig would be cool.

I guess since you put it that way I will stick with the Zelda Breath of the Wild sig. 😅

    Thanks

Good Evening @Sheikah and welcome to the Anime forums!

You've started off with some GREAT pics of your treasures, love the "Your Name" set especially! 🤩

We hope to see many more pics of your wonderful collection as it grows my friend!

    Cheers! 🤗

    Thanks @Grendel,

I've always just watched my favorite animes online at places like crunchyroll, and had small, inexpensive things like that Avatar complete series. Once I saw that Your Name set though, I decided I might as well jump into this pool a little as well since I already spend a good amount on other physical media 😂

You can find that set on ebay for around $60-$80 so not too bad though.

Cool that's fine. I'm away for the weekend so will look at it when I'm back bud.

    @goose_3387

Sorry to do this to you, but I've actually thought of a better idea haha. Instead of what I said before, I'd really like something from Blade Runner 2049! Something with a vaporwave/synthwave aesthetic to it would be awesome..... 😁

Good thing you are on break and didn't start on that previous request haha. 😅

  11. So I dont have really a huge collection of anime material, but I thought i'd share what I do have...

Your Name 4K UHD Special Edition....Includes some extra goodies like stickers, artbook, strip of film, etc..
